Chapter 2: A Chance Encounter
Mia's Saturday morning began like any other, scrolling through her social media page. Amidst the numerous friend requests, one caught her eye - "Rebellious Cutie." She liked the name and accepted the request, and immediately received a message: "Hi." Rebillious Cutie messaged her.
Mia, aka "Charming Empress," replied with a smile: "Hi, nice profile name you got there ." Rebellious Cutie responded, "Thanks, your name isn't bad either." She said with a smiling emoji .Their conversation flowed effortlessly, both of them talked a lot and realized that they have a lot in common which made there conversation very interesting. There conversation was filled with laughter and jokes.
As they chatted, Susan realized it had been a while since she'd had so much fun talking to someone on Facebook. "It's really nice getting to know you,Facebook can be so boring sometimes, even with the video" Rebellious Cutie said. "Yeah, Facebook can be boring sometimes," Mia agreed.
Their conversation came to a close, but they promised to chat again later.
"I have to go now, we will talk later, okay" Susan said . " Okay talk to you later then" Mia said also.
Months later, Mia's excitement was palpable as she prepared for her convocation which is finally tomorrow.She couldn't sleep, she kept on moving on her bed feeling so restless, due to her excitement for her big day tomorrow .Her heart kept on racing with anticipation. She decided to share her excitement with her online friend.
It was 11pm, when she messaged Rebillious Cutie.
"Are you awake?" Mia asked.
"Yeah, I'm still awake. What's up?" Rebellious Cutie aka Susan replied. "Why are you still awake, tomorrow is your big day?" Susan said. "I can't sleep, am so excited for tomorrow " Mia said with so much excitement. "Oh i see, but wifey do you know you will have dark circles around your eyes for your big day if you don't sleep" Susan said with a teasing smile on her face.
" Why are you teasing me, i came to you to share my excitement and you are teasing me" Mia said with a angry emoji . " What else will i do, other than teasing you my cute wifey " Susan said while laughing to herself.
" Firstly, am not your wifey and secondly you are such a bad friend. I won't talk to you anymore " Mia said while feeling very angry and offended.
Susan kept on teasing Mia, joking about how dark circles will appear under her eyes. Mia playfully responded, and they exchanged banter till 2am in the the morning.
"Okay, on a serious note, you should sleep. Tomorrow, oh no! I mean today is your big day, you should have your beauty nap, okay"Susan said with a smile on her face. "You better go to bed and be beautiful for tomorrow."
Mia playfully protested, "You and your big mouth, will it kill you if you don't tease me?" Susan smiled, "You are my wifey , okay? How can i not tease you.Do you know how fun your reaction is when I tease you" Susan said while laughing " And anyways, don't you like the nickname I gave you?" She said smiling mischievously. " Oh!Before I forget,remember to send me your convocation pictures,okay" Rebillious Cutie said.
"That is not right,why should i send you my pics? I won't. You didn't send me yours, so why should I?"Mia responded, "If i send you my pics, you will know how i look like which is not fair, so i won't send you my pics. The only time i will send you my pics is when you send me yours, only then will i send my pictures to you. So do we have a deal?" Mia asked
"Not fair! If i send you my pics, it will not be fun any longer.We will eventually meet one day, so why are you being so calculative with your pictures. Be a spot will you, plsssssss" Susan beged
"No can't do, i have led down my conditioning,if you don't agree then there is nothing i can do then" Mia said with a evil emoji . "So annoying, fine don't send it. I don't care" Susan said " Okay then, goodnight. Talk to you later, byeeeeeeee" Mia said with a smile on her face.
"Goodnight my foot, it suppose to be good morning you fool" Susan said while still feeling very angry. "Somebody is angry, hahahahaha, it so nice to tease you to, anyways i won't talk to you any longer. I really have to sleep. Goodnight, oh no, no, no,no,no, i mean good morning " Mia said with a smile on her face.
"Okay then, take care of yourself" Susan said pouting her lips.
Their conversation ended with Susan telling Mia to take care of herself and get some rest.
Mia's convocation celebration had been unforgettable, filled with laughter, photos, and partying all night long. She and her friends had hit the bars, sung at a karaoke bar, and danced the night away. As the sun began to rise, Mia stumbled home, exhausted, and slept till noon.
But when she woke up, the reality of her actions hit her hard. The bright sunlight streaming through her window was like a knife to her eyes. " Ah, so bright " She complaned while covering her eyes from the sun.When she tried getting up,she moaned in pain while rubbing her head.She tried to open her eyes, but the light was too intense. She lay back down, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the light.
As she slowly got up from are bed, she felt tiny needles pokeing her head, and she groaned in agony. Her stomach churned, and she rushed to the bathroom, vomiting uncontrollably. She felt so weak and dizzy and stumbled back to her bed, using the wall as a support.
After resting for a while, Mia managed to get up and make her way to the kitchen for a glass of water. As she drank, she felt slightly better but still weak. "What's wrong with me?" she wondered out loud,holding her stomach and gripping her head.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a message from Rebellious Cutie: "Hi wifey! How was your night and how was your convocation yesterday?" Susan asked with a smiling emoji . But Mia's response was brief: "Hi." Susan's was surprised because that was not the reaction she was expecting. Her tone quickly shifted from excitement to concerned. "Are you okay?" She asked.
" I don't know, am feeling weak, dizzy. My head is aching me so badly and my stomach is not feeling too well" Mia said while feeling uncomfortable .
Mia explained her symptoms, and Susan's response was laced with humor: "You must be suffering from a hangover! How many drinks did you have last night?" Susan asked suspiciously.Mia sheepishly admitted "I don't know, all i knew is that i drank and had a lot of fun. They kept on giving me drinks and i kept on drinking, that all i know" Mia said acting all irritated.
As they chatted, Susan teased Mia about her situation. "If you knew you couldn't handle achool, why did you drink it? " Susan asked . " Are you blaming me right now,am not feeling to well and you are blaming me, is this how you treat a sick patient "Mia asked feeling so wrong. "I never knew my wifey could be such a drama queen " Susan said while smiling. " Okay fine i will help you but you should know, next time don't drink so much. If you get drunk and something happens to you it will be bad, so pls don't act naive next time okay " Susan adviced.
"Okay, now put lemon and honey in a cup and put lukewarm water inside the cup and drink, afterwards have a good rest okay. And you'll feel a lot better." Mia agreed, still feeling terrible.
The conversation ended with Susan telling Mia to take care of herself and rest. " "We will talk later okay" Susan said. As Mia drifted off to sleep, she couldn't help but appreciate Susan's concern and humor, despite her teasing.
