Chapter 4 - The Rasengan

After the resolve to not fail the graduation exam and avoid joining the purely suicidal Genin Corps solidified within him, He thought, 'Why is my life always so shit?'

In his past life, he had been an orphan, and now the circumstances were the same.

He shook his head, dismissing the unproductive thought. 'Currently, I should focus on improving my strength.'

Chakra control and physical conditioning were already part of his planned training.

But there's another significant hurdle, Chakra Reserves.

From anime he couldn't recall any specific exercise or training method mentioned, that directly increased chakra capacity.

In the series, it seemed to increase naturally as a shinobi trained and grew stronger.

The only method he knew from the manga that offered a dramatic increase was becoming a Jinchuriki.

That was obviously not an easy path, nor one he was willing to risk, even for vast reserves.

'With training, my Chakra Reserves will improve as well,' he reasoned, 'even if only little by little.'

What he disliked most was his apparent lack of natural talent or a bloodline limit, any kind of Kekkai Genkai.

If he could wish for anything, a pair of Sharingan would be his choice.

But even if he somehow acquired them, he would likely die from chakra exhaustion alone, as the Sharingan would consume far more chakra than he possessed.

He shook his head again. "Forget it," he muttered.

Creating a nature-based Kekkai Genkai through training was incredibly difficult and close to impossible for many.

Even though a shinobi can learn all five elemental natures, despite having an affinity for only one, will face a tough challenge in creating one Kekkai Genkai.

Learning Ninjutsu of other elemental natures is also hard, especially if one doesn't have affinity for it, but merging and creating a Kekkai Genkai from two nature affinities was significantly more harder.

'So, all the knowledge I have about which two nature affinities create which Kekkai Genkai is useless to me,' he concluded.

Then, a useful piece of information surfaced. 'But I remember one Ninjutsu that doesn't even require any nature affinity,' he thought.

"The Rasengan"

He even recalled its three-step learning process. However, learning it now, with his current level of Chakra Reserves and abysmal Chakra Control, seemed exceedingly difficult.

'Though in the future, I will definitely make it,' he vowed. 'It's a great jutsu.'

Then another detail about the Rasengan came to mind. 'Ah, I almost forgot that Minato would have been creating it around this time and will be using it during the Third Shinobi war with Flying ThunderGod.'

'Well, that doesn't stop me from learning and using the Rasengan eventually,' he decided.

He opened his small purse, looking at the meager 205 Ryo that remained.

He sighed heavily. 'What do I do about money?'

Unless he became a Genin, he couldn't undertake any tasks from the mission counter to earn income.

He found it surprising that Sunagakure didn't have a formal D-rank mission system. Instead, they were called "Tasks" or "Odd Jobs," and any Genin could take them to earn extra money aside from their assigned missions.

Sunagakure had no structured system of D-rank missions; even after becoming a Genin and joining a team or a Genin Corps squad, they typically began with C-rank missions within the Land of Wind to earn their share of the mission pay.

These "Tasks" or "Odd Jobs," though similar to Konoha's D-rank missions, were not formally assigned to Genin teams or squads.

Instead, individual Genin took them upon themselves to supplement their income.

This system also benefited villagers by meeting their small needs.

Like Konoha's D-rank missions, these tasks included things like helping villagers with chores and stuff.

'So, unless I become a Genin,' Kaiji thought, 'not only can I not do Tasks, but I also can't learn Fuinjutsu or Iryo Ninjutsu.'

Even if he desired to learn them now, it was impossible without achieving Official Genin status.

Furthermore, he couldn't recall seeing or hearing anything about a Scroll of Seals in Sunagakure.

In Konohagakure, there was a Scroll of Seals containing all the forbidden jutsu, kept under the security of Anbu near the Hokage's

He had no memory of anything similar existing here.

Sunagakure did possess a Ninja Library Archive, which likely provided Jutsu scrolls to the village's shinobi who wished to learn new techniques.

However, housing forbidden jutsu there was impossible, as it was accessible to all official ninja.

And unless he became a official Genin, he couldn't even enter and retrieve a scroll of any jutsu he wished to learn.

Even after becoming a Genin, his access would likely be limited to D-rank jutsu scrolls and few C-rank with permission.

To learn higher-ranked techniques, he would need to become a Chunin or Jonin.

While it wouldn't be bad to learn a few other Ninjutsu of different elemental affinities, even if he lacked the natural affinity, if they are available and learnable, that is a great help for him.

He even questioned whether Sunagakure even possessed many Forbidden Jutsus; he could only recall Chiyo's Tensai Ninjutsu (Reanimation Ninjutsu)

He shrugged the thought away.

"That doesn't matter," he said. He needed to be ready for tomorrow.

Tomorrow was Academy session, and he would start his training as well.
