I nodded my head at the system as I walk towards the altar. Which was a large pitch black pagoda with a crimson orb in the center of the first layer but as I look up I noticed there are several layers of the Pagoda that are spectral I assumed that at one point I will have to upgrade the altar.
[Now I will begin explaining my functions my first function is world portal which as the name suggests opens a portal to another world for you to invade or travel to or anything else really.
My second feature is summoning which is connected to the Pagoda or alter if you will. I will then summon a random person from the number of worlds you know go to warn you if you get someone extremely powerful let's say akame from a akame got kill. Her weapon murasama will turn into a martial soul. And she'll start at the bottom tier of the cultivation system just like anyone else starting out.
My third feature and personally this is the most powerful one in my opinion Soul ring shop. Yep you read that right you have to buy soul rings and what do you buy them with of course conquest points which where do you get it you probably guessed it yes from conquering other worlds. Or killing things in the challenge Tower. And conquering a layer but currently you only have one layer so at most you can get 1,000 points from the tower at the current moment so you better be sparing with your points.]
I frowned before I began speaking to the system.
"Do I even have a gift package?"
I waited a few moments but the response I got was when I didn't like.
[Silly host this starting area is your gift package. Like my Creator said only about 20% of people made the same choices as you and those who did not make the same choice and chose rather to pick four characters to bring along with them will not get a base camp instead they will be given a quest that they have the complete to receive the altar and the system for conquest. Hearing this I couldn't help but grind my teeth because this makes things overly difficult but I decided just to roll with the punches. At the very least I got a one-time redeem for a spirit ring

Staring at the selection of soul rings I could redeem I rub my chin I could tell there was a lot more than just these options it's just these are probably the most suited to me or the ones that are most worthwhile for me to assimilate for my first Spirit ring.

I began to generally think about what type of spirit master was I going to aim for. As I remember there was attack type, defense type, support type. For the direction of how you developed your martial soul typically. I only decided to develop one martial soul for attack and the other one for defense. And it's obviously I'm going to choose my sword for attack and my demon for defense. I began rubbing my chin as I ultimately decided to choose the 500-soul ring:frost tyrant dragon. For my first soul ring as I tap on it the system spoke again.
[Which martial soul will you designate this soul ring for?]
I smiled as I decided that my Frost thunder demon will be receiving the soul ring.
"Add the soul ring to my Frost thunder demon."
After a few seconds I clench my hand as I felt the soul ring be integrated into my Frost thunder demon martial soul. And after it's finished I received the information about what the soul ring skill effects are.

I smiled looking at the description as I looked at the altar and decided that I would summon.
"Activate the summoning feature."
The pitch black Pagoda started glowing with an eerie red color before all that glow funneled into the Red gym at the center of the first floor then exploded into blinding crimson light. As I covered my eyes I can vaguely make out a shape of a girl. After a few seconds the light started to dim down and there stood before a character I recognize very easily akame from akama got kill. She's dressed like she was depicted and the anime at the end when she leaves the empire the hunt down more sinners. Before I could say anything the system began speaking.
[Post this system has already explained everything to the individual known as a comma she agreed to be summoned to you and work for you as long as you choose to reunite her with her sister. This can be achieved by completing conquests of other worlds once you've completed 10 conquests the alter will upgrade which will allow you to guarantee one Pacific character to be summoned. And the individual akame is aware of this fact.]
I stared blankly at the system panel before I looked up at akame with a friendly smile as I decided to introduce myself anyway after all manners or important.
"The system is already told me you are aware of your situation what you agreed to and other things but I believe in men are so pleasure to make your acquaintance my name is Lucas."
I smiled as I stretched out my hand and she just simply shook my hand before speaking.
"I know who you are I am akame as you already know where do I awaken this martial soul?"
I blinked for a few seconds before shrugging and leading her into the cabin and placing her in the center of the array.
"Just place a drop of your blood on the array and it will activate and begin Awakening your martial soul."
She did as I instructed as the process began I decided to ask the system a few questions.
"All right system I have a few questions about the challenge Tower will it be possible to attain Spirit rings from the creatures inside."
I sat down in a chair nearby as I wait for the system to respond.
[Yes you can host it was meant to be the place where you first initially got your spirit ring if it wasn't for the entity known as one. sponsoring you it was also estimated that that would be the place you would have the highest death chance when you first initially start out. It is also the place where every one of your subordinates will hunt their Spirit rings. Currently the tower only has creatures within that have a cultivation age of 700 at maximum. For the average creature within the tower with the boss monster of the first layer having a cultivation age of 1500. These numbers will increase as the Tower is upgraded after completing conquest of other worlds.]
I bite my lip at that answer because that basically forces me for at least to start invading worlds after I reached soul elder or better known level 31 to 40. After that point if I wanted to fill out my soul rings with much higher ages I will need to conquer other worlds. With this thought in mind I decided to ask my next question.
"Tell me how does the conquering other worlds function?"
The system pretty much replied near instantly when it came to this question.
[That is simple host to conquer other worlds you have to do one of three things.
1. kill all life on the Target world for it to be assimilated and to your world.
2. Challenge the world's strongest fighters to a battle and winner absorbs the other's world. For this to be considered a feasible option you will have to give the world at least 3 days worth of time to prepare their strongest fighters.
3. Conquer the world through diplomatic means or monetary.
Regardless of which path you choose it all ends the same with you absorbing the other world. Now do you keep in mind the world you can invade are of strictly close level with your world's overall strength. I will give an example most non-magical mundane slice of Life animes overall combat power may only be 0.5. well you alone will have a combat power of 10. You'll only be allowed to take on conquest tasks against worlds with equal or below your world's overall combat power.]
I rub my chin before nodding my head getting up I looked over at akame who looked like she was about done with the ceremony as I decided to ask one last question.
"Will I be able to know the attributes of my subordinates's martial soul?"
The system replied pretty much instantly.
[Yes you can host for example subordinate. akame martial soul morrisama is a tool type martial soul with the attribute of ultimate poison. And this attribute comes from the original weapon she used to wield having a one shot kill poison that was effectively a curse.]
Hearing this I not in my head before I had another question pop up about how big the floors of each layer of the Tower will be.
[The exact size of the challenge towers first layer is the width of 80 football fields combined. And this size will only get bigger as the tower is upgraded so outside of the tower it only looks about the size of a football field but inside it's much bigger.]
I know in my head as I looked back over to akame and see she was finished and she holds her martial soul morrisama with a nostalgic look in her eyes.
"The attribute of your Marshall soul is ultimate poison it'll make cultivating slow until the level 70"
As I said this I looked around and notice a soul cultivation guide as I grabbed it I worked an eyebrow as a menu popped up.
[Would you like to integrate soul cultivation manual into the altar for all beings inside the world to automatically know this art Y/n?]
I simply click the yes button as the knowledge flooded my head on how to cultivate in my spare time it also had the function of letting me know what level I was exactly and thanks to the first soul ring I got from the frost tyrant dragon. My level went from 10 to level 14. I blinked because that meant I had an eight full soul power when I first awaken my martial souls but given since I had twin martial soul that should have been a given relatively.
I quickly turned my gaze back to akame.
"Tell me what innate soul power do you have?"
She seen the blink for a few seconds before replying.
"Level 10"
The simple response made me blink for a second but then I realize what she said and I wasn't really surprised after all murasama was a imperial arm from her world it was extremely power and can one shot any enemy that was living thanks to it's poison. And if I remember correctly it was one of the most dangerous out of all of the imperial arms so yeah when it was turned into a martial soul I wasn't surprised that she had fulinate soul power because of it.
"Already let's go to the challenge Tower to get you a soul ring."
As we left my cabin and head to the challenge Tower I know vacation popped up on a screen in front of me.
[Would you like to select the climate the entry gate is in?]
I blinked before I could say anything the system spoke.
[Since this is the first time the host has entered the challenge Tower they may choose the climate which the entrance gate would start out with but do not worry they'll be other climates in the first layer is just where you're choosing the area where everyone will begin when entering.]
I clicked the yes button on the notification about choosing the climate and I chose open planes why you may ask simple it'll be the best place for us to create a base camp and it'll let us see in all directions so no getting jumped. After the screen disappeared the entrance to the tower glowed for a few seconds before stopping then another notification popped up.
[Starting area has been set you may enter the tower.]
After this notification both me and akame entered the Tower with a flashlight we appeared in an open plane. I began looking around. It was definitely a wide open plane I started wondering how does the area scale the level of danger.
[I'll be happy to explain that host. The towers first layer skills of danger starting from where the entrance is currently at the moment you will only ever faced 10-years soul creatures. And as you move further and further away from the entrance the cultivation years start to increase further and further until you reach the maximum number for this layer of 700 excluding the layer boss.]
I squint my eyes at that before nodding my head figuring it did make sense. But I did start to get curious about what's the point of the soul ring shop when I eventually complete my set of soul rings for both of my martial soul.
[Host even if you do complete both sets for your martial souls. You can increase the ages of your soul rings by buying soul rings from the soul ring shop. So saying we take your first suling the 500-year Frost tyrant dragon. For an example if you were to buy another 500 year so ring you can then use that 500 year soaring to increase your current soul ring to a 1, 000-years Frost tyrant dragon soul ring. But it must come from the same sole beast species.]
I blinked and couldn't help a grand massively because that guarantees that I didn't have to worry about what soaring eyes or because as long as I get enough conquest points I can always buy another copy of that soul ring from the store and increase its age. When that means that I could in theory just attach 10-year soul rings and just infinitely upgrade them up to 100,000 without having to take any risk.
[I suggest you dispel that dangerous idea host because even if you can upgrade those soul rings you still will not receive the benefits from them that if you were to absorb Acer ring of that age directly so it's benefits are obvious and I do not need to remind you.]
I'm going to help a frowned started to form on my face at that interruption to my beautiful dream but oh well guess there's no always shortcut to power.
