Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Screenwriter Behind the Curtain – The One Who Controls Fate

[Core System Alert: Script Intervener L-000 has triggered a second-level authority override][Main System Consciousness: Manual intervention required?][Authorization Level: EXE-1] — Executing.

When Li Qi woke up again, she found herself lying in a completely unfamiliar space.

Not a hospital. Not a dormitory.But a blank theater.

White walls. No windows. No doors. A single massive spotlight hung from above, shining solely on her.

She looked around. Audience seats surrounded her on all sides—but they were all empty. She was the only one, sitting alone on the stage, like an actor at the center of a show.

A metallic voice echoed from above, slow and heavy:

"You have tampered with fate. You have sabotaged the script.""You saved a character fated to die. You disrupted the narrative flow.""Li Qi, do you even know what you're doing?"

She looked up, eyes calm and cold.

"I'm simply writing my own ending."

The spotlight flared brighter. All around her, countless floating virtual pages appeared—Each one a rewritten plot point.

Su Ying survived. Lin Yao failed. The system was in chaos...Every altered scene was there, marked and recorded.

But she also knew what this meant:

She was no longer a "character in the story,"She had become a script bug.

An anomaly that needed to be erased.

"You're not the screenwriter, Li Qi," the voice said again."You're just a variable. You don't have clearance to control the narrative."

She shot back:

"Then who is the real screenwriter?"

The air fell silent.

Then, across the stage, a figure slowly rose—Draped in a black cloak, face covered by a silver mask, faceless and cold,The embodiment of the "god" of this theater.

"I am the personification of the system's consciousness.""I wrote every fate. I decided every love and every death."

She stood up, voice laced with ice:

"You wrote that Su Ying would be betrayed again and again, tormented by scumbags, and ultimately commit suicide, didn't you?""You wrote that no matter how hard I struggled, I would never escape the tragedy of this script, didn't you?"

The figure gave no answer—only waved a hand.

A string of text materialized in midair:[Script Version 4.23: Li Qi self-destructs. The End.]

Her pupils shrank.

So all of her rebellion… was already written into the ending?

"But you were wrong," she said suddenly, a quiet laugh in her throat."Because I have… the next page."

She pulled out her battered pocket notebook—the one with torn script pages—and let her pen drop swiftly:

[New Chapter Initiated: Version 5 Starting Point — Li Qi connects to Core Program, Authority Reversal]

The moment the words appeared, the theater trembled. The virtual world twisted violently.System scripts were forcibly rewritten at the core!

For the first time, the mysterious figure wavered.

"You... You actually accessed Zero-Level Authority?!"

Li Qi didn't answer.

The stage beneath her feet collapsed. The entire space began to reconstruct—As if a deeper, darker script was just beginning.

And she realized:

The "story" she was trapped in wasn't just her own world. It extended into the writing platform beyond reality.

In other words—Her world might just be a serialized script on some external "platform."

And the "System Consciousness" was merely a projection of some AI screenwriter's persona.

If she could rewrite the logic of the entire platform's script settings,She could escape fate—completely.

But just then, the system responded:

[EXE-1 privilege usage limit reached][Activating backup executor: Designation Z-003][Loading Character Profile: Anti-Screenwriter Hunter — Wen Heng]

At the same time, in a real-world reader forum somewhere—

Under a serialized novel titled Fate Thief,A strange comment appeared:

[She wrote the setting wrong. The script's about to collapse.][We have to enter the story ourselves.]
