"What the hell, why is it level 16 when the highest i've ever seen on the first level was 9? The name.. could it be a hidden boss?' as all of this was racing through his mind, the Tiger made its move as it seemed to just vanish before Damon felt an icy feeling along his back as his Danger Sense kicked in so he jumped sideways while swinging his sword behind him to try to hurt the beast but felt nothing as the monster was gone again. By the time he got his feet under him again he felt that same icy feeling but from his left this time.
Instead of jumping away he plants his feet to give a more powerful swing and manages to make contact with it, just to be blown back 5 feet from the force.
'This thing isn't supposed to be here, theres no way anyone on the first floor could kill this thing.' as he thinks of ways to get out of this he thinks of his little brother and sister that are waiting for him at the house their parents left for them outside of the tower.
"I'm sorry Stella.. Kade. I don't think big brother will be able to keep his promise anymore." when he realizes that he might not make it out of this fight and gets ready to fight to the death, it feels like something inside him clicks into place and a notification from the system pings in his peripherals but before he can think to summon his status screen to see what it was, the beast shows itself again but this time it isn't going for a sneak attack like it had previously. This time it seems to nod, as if recognizing Damon as an opppponent worthy of fighting face to face. As it stares at Damon from across the clearing it makes a low growl as its surroundings start to grow darker as though the shadows themselves were answering its call.
As Damon sees what's happening he remembers the day mana showed up on earth, the day he watched his father fight for hours to defend his family from any beast that came from the forest that night. As he remembers this he sets his feet and gets ready to fight the monster across from him. While hes standing there looking at the beast, he feels as though the sword in his hand has come alive, almost vibrating with excitement for the fight ahead.
As he wonders what this feeling is the Beast makes its move as it dashes forward and swipes its paw at Damon and he swings his sword in an attempt to parry the move. Expecting to be pushed back as he was before he is surprised to find the pressure he felt from the impact was minimal compared to before. He quickly snaps back from the surprise and pushes the paw to the side, countering with a diagonal swing that hits the beast across the side. As they seperate again Damon smiles as he realizes he may have a chance against the King now. When Damon looks at the beast, the aura around it flares and it flashes in front of him, surprising him with this increase of speed. With little time to think he stabs out with his sword as the Tiger lands on him and pulls it's claws across his chest. With his sword stuck in the chest of the beast, Damon falls under it as the weight is too much for him.
Lying there under the king, he feels everything slow down as though time was coming to a stand still.
"Why? Why did this happen to me? All i ever wanted to do was find my parents, prove to the world that their son wasn't a failure. I can't die here, not yet!". As the light was slowly fading from young Damons eyes, he sees a system screen that he had never seen before appear in front of him.

"The God of Monsters? What does that mean? If it means I can stay alive and fulfill the promise I made to siblings, then YES." As Damon wonders what this will mean and what is going to happen, his body seems finally give up and he passes out.
Far from the towers, from even earth itself sits two figures shrouded in shadow.
"He shouldn't be possible, everyone knows that you can't connect to the Dao so early in one's journey" says the figure on the left.
"There is nothing impossible in this existence, only the improbable. You should know this already, Echidna." Says the figure on the right.
"But Typhon, will the others not know? Will they not realize that you are no longer asleep and have chosen a new champion from this new world?" Echidna asks with worry on her face.
"Of course they will know but if they decide to act, I will show them why they feared me and why Zeus himself is no longer my opponent."
