Two months had passed since my parents demise,I was really depressed.
Tina tried her best to take me out but all her efforts went in vain,I've been staying in my apartment for the past two month eating ice cream and crying.
Then one day I decided to get of my lazy ass out of bed to look for a job.
I wore my finest suits and toke my CV and I was ready to go job hunting,I called Tina.
"Hello Tina".
"Hey Nora how are you doing pookie?,Do you need me to get you some ice cream? After work?".
"No I don't need ice cream ,Just wanted to ask if you're company is still hiring".
"yes they are".
"okay Thanks love".I ended the call and took a cab to Tina's workplace,I went inside and called "hey Tina".
"Nora?"
She looks around ,"psst over here",she spots me and rushes to my side.
"Nora what are you doing here?".
" I came to apply for the secretary position".
"wait are you for real?".
"yes my darling bestie".
"yess",*Tina squeals*, I place my hand on her lips.
"Sorry I'm just super excited that my bestie and I are going to be working at the same company".
"we don't know if i'll get accepted".
"you will,you are the true definition of beauty and the brains I'm sure you will get In".
"Awww thank you Tina wish me luck".
"you don't need luck you've got this in the bag but still Good luck pookie". I blow her a kiss and walk into the Director's office
25 mins later
I came out of the directors office,looking disappointed,Tina rushed to my side,"Nora what happened didn't you get in".
I hugged her and whispered in her ears"I got in",we both squealed and started jumping up like frogs.
"omg congratulations Nora when I'm done with work we will surely celebrate this new victory".I hugged her and thanked her.
Few hours later
Tina picked me up and we headed to a new fancy club.Just as we were getting into the music, I saw a familiar face across the room. It was the mysterious guy I had met in the village a few months ago.
My heart skipped a beat as our eyes me. He was standing by the bar, sipping some beer and looking utterly out of place among the club's flashy decorations. I felt a shiver run down my spine as he raised his glass.
Tina followed my gaze and raised an eyebrow. "Who's that?" she asked, her voice loud enough to be heard over the music.
I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "Just someone I met back at home" I said finally, trying to sound casual.
"Hmmm okay",but I think you should go meet him he look so dashing Tina said.
"Ummm I don't think so,".
"okay if you say so",Tina said,and then we danced away till we our legs were sore,and Tina drank until she couldn't stand up straight
I had to go to the closest hotel since Tina was too drunk to drive and I didn't know how to drive.
The next day
I opened my eyes,and my head was pounding I Checked the time.
"OMG Tina wake up,we will be late for work","Mum I don't want to go to school today".
I grabbed a cup of water and splashed it on her face
"wake up!!".
"Nora why!! Would you do that to me".
I showed her the time,"omg we are so late,hold up where are we".
"ummm you got drunk so I had to book us a hotel room not to far from the club".
"ooooh".
"Yh so let's go".
we hurried into the bathroom and took a shower and I went to my apartment to take some clothes.
20MINS later
We got to the office,"why are they all gathered here " I asked Tina but she looked as confused as me.
"Well,I don't know, I'll ask someone", Tina said.
,"hey what's going?".
"the boss is coming".
"the big boss?".
"yes".
"ooh thank you".
"what did she say?".
"The big boss is coming".
"oooh nice,have you ever meet him before?.
"No but I heard he is a really ruthless guy",Tina said.
"Ooh".
"Yh!".
we waited for some minutes and then a familiar face walked in with a black suit,his aura screamed power and wealth,he was the guy from the village and from the club,the supervisor, and director went to shake him.
"It's a honor to have you here Hayden".
"it's Mr Smith to you".
"ye-s ,I I mean okay sir".
He walked away and the director and supervisor followed,everyone went back to their desk,I thought to myself as I went to my desk.
I can't believe that tall stranger I meant at the town and the club will be my bos.
I snapped back to reality to get some work done,then my colleagues started gossiping.
"I heard he killed a pregnant woman after she spilled water on his suit ".
"talk about anger issues".
"I know right!!".
2hours, had passed and it was finally our lunch break,me and Tina were planning on going to the nearby restaurant recently built.
On our way out I bumped into our boss,shivers went down my spine as his cold gaze landed on me.
"can't you see?".
"I'm so sorry MR Smith I wasn't looking ",I wanted to sound as ever because I knew if he kept looking at me like that I could pee my pant.
Then his gaze shifted to something like pleasure,I swore I saw he smirk for some seconds.
"watch were your going next time".
"yes boss".
When we got to the restaurant Tina couldn't stop snickering.
"if you see how terrified you looked,I can't believe Nora who never feared no Man before is scared of Jayden".
"Haha laugh all you want Tina that man gives me the chills and I think his name is Hayden not Jayden ".
"Tomato Toato,same thing and besides he looks like a nice guy and wasn't he the guy you told me you meet back home?".
"sweet guy my foot and yes he was the I met at my home any problem?".
"Nope!".
We ordered some food. ten minutes later we went back to work to see a gorgeous woman with blonde hair and bright hazel eyes,hand in hand with our boss.
"Nora are you seeing what I'm seeing?",
"yes!!".
"It looks like our boss has a lady friend".we giggled and went inside.
The next day
"Ring Ring",who's calling me so early in the morning,
"Hello!".
I heard a deep icy voice on the other end "hello,is the Nora?",he asked.
"yes,how may I help you?" ,I said with a sleepy voice.
"Do you know who's speaking" he asked.
I scratched my head trying to figure out who was talking,"No".
"it's Mr Smith"I straightened up my back.
"oh Good morning Mr smith".
"I just wanted to tell you,you have been promoted to be my personal assistant".
"personal assistant?".
"Yes, my supervisor told me how good your CV was,so I said why not put you as my personal assistant".
"Ooh Thank you sir,I won't let you down".
"…".
"Hello,HELLO!!!,oh he hanged up,rube but whatever I got a promotion"
I decided to call Tina to tell her the good News *Ring Ring*.
"hello girly pops".
"Hey Nori".
"how are you".
"I'm good".
"What are you doing up so early in the mornin?".
"it's a surprise".
"you know I don't like surprises,Just tell me".
"okay I'll tell you when we are going to work okay".
"Nori please just tell me now ".
"But!".
"when we meet in the morning I'll tell you, patience my friend, but Wait Tina what are you doing up by this time".
well ummm you woke me up".
"When called you,you didn't sound tired!".
"Ummm",then I heard a manly voice in the background".
"Tina who's that?".
"I'll tell you later".
"No you will tell me now".
"...".
"Hello,Tina?,Helllo!!!,did she just end the call!,she will pay for that".
I went back to sleep after that.
4 hours later.
I got into Tina's car,"so will you tell who was in your apartment yesterday?".
"Hmmm after you!".
"Hmmm hmmm okay No problem".
Then I told her everything,"Gurl you are really lucky".
I know right!".
"True,so now tell me who was in your apartment yesterday!".
"well,umm Nori,I brought a guy home yesterday!".
"I know already".
"Okay nice soo!".
"So did guys Atleast use protection".
Nora we didn't do anything".
I breathed a sigh of relief"why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone".
"I'm not seeing anybody,his car broke down and he decided to ask if he could stay for the night".
"Hmmm okay".
"yes mummy"we both giggled.
Then Tina asked a question that left me broken.
