Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Return of the Heiress (1)

Mia Ginger looked at her face in the mirror.

Very young, her meticulously trimmed willow eyebrows slightly arched, the curve gentle, like spring mountains adorned with greenery, enhancing the allure of the almond eyes below, clear and bright, brimming with emotion.

Her nose was straight and delicate, like a finely crafted piece of art, lips slightly pursed, rosy and glossy.

She knew from a young age that she was pretty, but this was the first time she gazed at and examined her appearance so earnestly from such a clean, bright mirror.

Originally, this should have been her at nineteen, the eldest Miss of the Ginger Family.

Not the Mia ginger who wandered the muddy alleys since childhood, nor the Mia Ginger who fought with boys over a few bucks, or the Mia Ginger who even had to worry about rats climbing onto her bed as she slept.

She should have been a pampered princess, just like this room at present, crystal lamps, princess bed, floor-to-ceiling windows, vintage carved mirror...

Everywhere exuded elegance and dignity.

She looked at the girl in the mirror, both familiar and unfamiliar, her eyes welling with tears, a smile resting at the corners of her lips.

"Seventeen years lost and found again, truly Miss Ginger is blessed," said the stylist hired by the Ginger Family, fitting a delicate pearl earring on her, uttering polite words while cautioning, "You may feel itchy before the ear piercings heal, don't touch them with sweaty hands, or it may cause inflammation."

"Got it." Mia Ginger was indeed unaccustomed; in the past, she might not even have had the money to pierce her ears, let alone wear earrings.

The stylist looked at her, silently chuckling internally, carrying a hint of mockery.

Zuri Ginger, the eldest Miss of the Ginger Family, is known to everyone for her grace and quiet demeanor, her myriad talents. Although she is an adopted daughter, over the years of luxury she has cultivated the graceful aura of a noble lady. At just twenty-one, she is in her third year at the nation's top university and has already become a renowned new-generation popular writer in the literary world, earning endless praise from society's elite ladies.

On the other hand, this legitimate blood relative, who knows where she grew up in some corner, needs guidance to walk in high heels, can't even differentiate between cosmetics and skincare lotions.

After so much effort, still doesn't know English...

After top-to-toe grooming for days, it's all just gilded outside but empty inside.

Such a waste of an exquisite outfit.

Casually musing, the stylist aided her yet took no liberties, adorning her with a pearl necklace that complemented the earrings, each pearl lustrous and delicate, accentuating her slender collarbone beautifully, a sleeveless round-neck knee-length pale pink dress wrapping her slightly thin figure in graceful curves.

Paired perfectly with five-centimeter silver wedge heels.

Tsk!

As the saying goes, "The Buddha is adorned with golden robes, a person with clothes."

"Truly beautiful." The stylist smiled and complimented, while outside, the Ginger Family's servant respectfully inquired, "Is the second Miss ready?"

"Ready." Mia Ginger glanced at the mirror and responded, her expression calm.

With a straight back, she walked out.

The corridor was laid with a soft beige carpet, silent beneath her steps, the staircase spiraled down, its light brown handrails luxurious and exquisite, embellished with carved patterns, its floor covered with polished marble tiles, light white in color, sunlight streaming through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, reflecting off the tiles, causing a slight dizziness.

Mia Ginger pursed her lips in thought, still chose to hold the handrail as she descended, the sound of her heel tapping on the steps drew the curious gazes from the people in the living room.

Her hair was cut short at ear level, styled, with one side slightly longer reaching her delicate chin, the other side shorter, revealing her fair ears, as she walked into the spilling sunlight, showcasing a quiet beauty.
