Further along the map's path, Lucky came upon a lonely stone cottage, half-swallowed by moss. Inside lived a witchling named Marla—no taller than Lucky, but full of secrets.
"I know what you are," Marla said. "A Starborn. One foot in fate, the other in chaos."
Marla offered her a gift: a locket that could reveal truth—but only if Lucky was ready to see it.
"I don't want truth to hurt," Lucky said.
Marla smiled sadly. "It usually does. But it also frees."
