The policeman had stood up, circling around his seat, looking at the stains of blood showered on his clothes. He held his elbow, pushing him back into the chair, looking at his nearly unconscious body before an alarm had suddenly started blaring. Before Shiro had arrived, there had been a previous one. The amount of alarms played signaled how much security was currently needed. The policeman quickly ran over to one of the computers, looking at the news,
"RECENTLY, THERE HAS BEEN A HORDE OF SAKKON SWARMING THE BORDER OF AETHERIS. AUTHORITIES HAVE BEEN SENT TO DEAL WITH THESE THREATS. DESPITE THIS WARNING, DO NOT BE AFRAID. SHOWING FEAR IS WHAT MAKES THEM STRONGER. STAY SAFE, STAY PROTECTED, AND STAY…ALIVE." The broadcast ominously spoke before it blipped into silence. The policeman glanced over at Shiro, groaning in annoyance. Although it would be safer for them to stay in the police building, A better solution would be to head to the HQ of Aetheris' Defense Force. Despite his low rank as a mere police officer, even having a rank would allow entrance. He made a choice. Quickly holding onto Shiro's body, he lifted him, walking outside of the building as he sat, placing Shiro directly behind him.
"Who would've thought a Sakkon attack like this would be this bad…" The policeman looked up before seeing the city's defense suddenly flutter. But he didn't think anything of it. He slid the keys into his bike, powering it up as it started speeding through the city. Shiro's barely conscious body clung on as the bike shifted through the night sky.

Near the border of Aetheris, hundreds of military personnel were placed around each corner, defending it from the waves of Sakkon that haunted the area. They were the most common lifeform outside the border of Aetheris, seeming to be attracted to the energy that is emitted within its core. However, the sheer amount of them had overwhelmed the government's expectations, which caused them to need backup. Their defense system had fluttered, which seemed to have no drawback effects, except for one.
Sakkon are ranked based on their strength and performance as an entity. There are many different types of them, which could even prove themselves to be capable threats on their owns:
KEMURI (THE SMOKE SAKKON)
Kemuri are a type of Sakkon that are able to release a strange steam that is able to temporarily paralyze their enemies. It's even said to cause constant hallucinations which could lead to severe mental side-effects.
RANSHIKI (THE FRACTURE SAKKON)
Ranshiki are a type of Sakkon that don't seem to have a proper shape, form or identity. They are able to de-construct and re-construct their bodies at will, allowing their bodies to adapt to situations, making them more offensive, defensive or more agile.
KAGE (THE SHADOW SAKKON)
The third of the Sakkon, the Kage are a type of Sakkon that are near-invisible until they move. They are able to phase through solid matter and completely hide their presence to the naked eye. With enough energy, they are even able to mask an identity as their own, enabling them to confuse their enemies.
While the defense of Aetheris shuttered for a second, it seemed that a high-level Kage had managed to pierce through security with it's dark body blending into the night sky, allowing it to quietly speed past before it roamed throughout the city, looking for any civilians lurking after the alarms had already blared for hours prior. On a tall building, two figures stood, their clothes flowing in the wind.
"You already know what we're here for, right?"
"Mhm! But I wanna focus on the Kage! You can take the other objective. I'm not very good at finding people, especially with simply a photo."
"I'm not really surprised that you'd say something like that, SLACKER." The voice spoke with annoyance.
"Hey!! I'm not a slacker if I'm still doing a JOB!" The voice shouted, aggravated by the comment.
"Anyways, let's get to the point. You can go fight the Kage now, and I'll continue searching around for our objective." The man spoke, his white hair flowing along with his robe as he sprung off the building. The woman standing next to him sighed, watching the Kage as she quickly did a backflip off of the building. Within a few seconds, she was already halfway down the building, using her feet to slide against the glass, slowing her fall before she swung off a pole, landing directly on the road in front of the Kage.
With 2 cold stares, they both glared at each other, forming a stance. The girl seemed to be in a more acrobatic fighting stance, her leg fully raised up as the Kage stomped on the ground to show dominance and aggression. But despite seeing this demonstration of strength, she smirked.
"You're impressive...just not impressive enough.." She spoke before she lunged towards the Kage, blocking its feral attack with her elbow before slamming her fist into its chest, sending it back by a few centimetres. The Kage quickly sprinted towards her, using it's large deformed leg to kick her into the sky, springing itself up in the same direction. The both of them were now at the same level.
The girl quickly reacted to the Kage's speed, grabbing onto it's arm as she started gaining control, using it's torso to jump even higher into the sky, positioning her leg directly at it's head as she began to fall. The Kage tried moving around, but it seemed to be locked into the same state that it was originally in - falling.
The Kage and the girl had locked eyes once again, the tides of the battle slowly shifting towards her, her leg soaring as she plunged into the ground, her shoe tearing through the Kage's inhumane flesh, it's blood splattered all across the ground as it seemed to be fading away.
"SEE?? I DID BEAT THE KAGE!! I'M RELEVANT, HARDWORKING AND CERTAINLY NOT A SLACKER!!" The girl shouted into the night sky, hoping the man would hear her shout. He sighed as he continued leaping over buildings. He had definitely heard it.
