Chapter 19 - World Selection

[Guild missions are now available.]

[Mission name: Baby Steps]

[Details: The mission of the All-World Alliance Guild is to connect several "Great Worlds" together to bring them under one banner. The first step to achieving that is as follows]:

○ [Conquer a low-leveled world] [0/1]

○ [Conquer several low-leveled world] [0/10]

○ [Conquer a mid-leveled world] [0/1]

[Reward: Several Worlds under ALWA's jurisdiction]

[Failure: None]

Worlds come in various strengths and threat levels, categorized into five tiers of danger.

These range from Low-class to Mid-class, then to High-class, followed by Apocalypse Class, Ex-class, and finally, the most perilous, Apollyon Class.

The latter are incredibly dangerous and often deemed unconquerable under normal circumstances.

For instance, an Apollyon-ranked world might feature an extraordinarily powerful individual capable of influencing higher-dimensional realms, whether within their own world or beyond.

These beings perceive reality as merely a narrative in a book, allowing them to rewrite it at will.

On the other hand, Low-class worlds are significantly weaker, where even the least powerful among them could easily manage missions there on their own.

[Total Power: High-Class (Average total power)]

The total power of each member far surpasses that of Low-class worlds, enabling them to potentially conquer multiple Low-class worlds simultaneously.

However, this is just the beginning of the first mission.

[Fourth Calamity: I suggest we stick together for the first mission. What do you all say?]

[Weakest Undefeated: It's our first official mission, after all.]

[True Ancestor: Well, if you say so, then.]

[Fallen Heiress: Mhm. I'll accompany you all. But what does "low-leveled world" mean in this scenario?]

Mei asked this question, and as usual, everyone waited for the one person who could answer to enlighten them.

[Fourth Calamity: Low-leveled worlds are essentially, as their name depicts, low-level worlds with a low risk of living in said world. Supernaturals, if they exist in said world, range from normal human level to those who could nuke cities.]

Examples of said worlds would include everyday worlds like the Roshidere world to the Jujutsu Kaisen world.

It is within the abilities of each member to solo conquer them. Nuclear warheads stand zero chance against them.

As for Mei? Her [Chef] skill alone could neutralize nuclear warheads before they even get close.

Additionally, with an Ego like «EI» who can take over and fight on her behalf at any time… boasting knowledge, techniques, and power.

Whatever Mei learns can be further developed by her, especially when it comes to using the authority of Thunder… the modern world stands no chance.

Lux, on the other hand?

Still no.

In addition to his qualitative multiplier, which lets him boost his powers to virtually as strong as he wants without losing reason.

He's also an acknowledged hero who is on the path to becoming a divine human.

From there, who's next, Luminous, who is a thousand-plus-year-old or even older with several spells at her disposal?

Or Laurel, who can virtually defeat his enemies without lifting a finger?

Unless said world is a technologically advanced world that has achieved FTL travel or could harness the power of a Dyson sphere.

And even then, said world would not be classified as a low-class world.

[True Ancestor: So that's how it is, huh? Hmph! Trifling matters.]

[Weakest Undefeated: If that's the case, then it'll be easy, no?]

[Fallen Heiress: What does Laurel think?]

Luminous, as ever, of course wouldn't be interested in something such as this, and the rest of the reactions are literally justified.

And, Laurel had a different take on that.

[Fourth Calamity: Well, it really depends. They could be low-level worlds, but the term "world conquer" is a bit unclear. There aren't any clear guidelines, after all.]

[Fallen Heiress: It probably means what it sounds like—taking over the world.]

When Mei said that, Laurel couldn't help but laugh. Mei, now free from her past troubles, was quite insightful.

Actually, she had always been. She was starting to shine as the Thunder Queen rather than just the Fallen Heiress.

[True Ancestor: I understand. That does pose a problem since there are no clear directives. But if Mei is right, it doesn't change the situation, does it?]

[Fourth Calamity: You've got a point there.]

A hush fell over the group. After a brief pause, someone spoke up.

[Weakest Undefeated: Laurel, is there a specific world we're talking about, or is it all just vague?]

[Fourth Calamity: Now that you mention it... Give me a second.]

Laurel. After seeing Lux's suggestion, he immediately used his administrator's privilege to open his system panel.

[Welcome Administrator: Cardinal #000]

○ [Conquer several low-leveled world] [0/10]

○ [Conquer a mid-leveled world] [0/1]

> [Select worlds]

Sure, it's real.

As the Administrator, he had some restrictions on how much he could manage the system, but he could tweak the missions to make them simpler.

From what he discovered, the system was designed by a higher will, functioning autonomously similar to the Voice of the World in Tensura.

So, as the Administrator, he had the right to this degree of control.

[Low-leveled worlds]

- [Demon Slayer]

- [Jujustu Kaisen]

- [Tokyo Revengers]

- [Konosuba]

- [Lycoris Recoil]

- [86]

- [Highschool of the Dead]

- [Blood C]

The list just kept going as he scrolled through it, reaching into the hundreds. 'Hmm. In this case, let's see.' Laurel considered it.

For sure, there were definitely some worlds that could be easily conquered, while others might take a bit more effort.

But even those wouldn't take hours to handle.

Most of the worlds on this list were over seventy percent romance-themed, and their entire structure could be shattered by the likes of Veldora simply unleashing his Dragon Spirit Haki.

"Right. There are definitely worlds like that. Scrolling through all of them would be a hassle. System, pick randomly from these worlds."

[Demon Slayer], [Jujustu Kaisen], [Konosuba], [Highschool of the Dead], [Blood C], [Chronos Ruler], ….

Looking at the list, he had varying expressions. Some he knew, and some were unknown to him, including Blood C and others.

"Chronos Ruler, huh? Wasn't there an object that allows control over time?"

"If we can form a pact with that woman and get the Time Covenant in exchange for wiping out the Horologues."

It's true that while they could manipulate time in the series, they had few substantial feats, mainly manipulating the time of single objects, which lowers the verse's overall power.

Besides that, Time Manipulators are shown using their time abilities. However, how would the Time Covenant deal with his EX skill?

Laurel was curious about that.

"But for now… let us conquer the simplest and easiest world."

[Highschool of the Dead.]

Why?

Because by the time the apocalypse happens, the world will be in shambles, giving them every reason to save and claim it.

In actuality, there was no way for him or the system to tell which time they traveled to.

The guild mainly exists to connect temporary lines, and the more the influence, the stronger the line would be.

When thinking of it like that, there really is no telling the timeline of a world they aren't in.

And for things like this… it depends on when they arrive.

If it were before the apocalypse, they could still work afterward. But if it were during the apocalypse, then even better.

Hence,

[Fourth Calamity: It's decided, the world we're going to...]

[ApocaHigh World]

- Difficulty: Low.

- Supernatural: Zombies, undead.

- Conquest possibility: 100%

[True Ancestor: It's decided, then.]

[Fallen Heiress: So, when are we going?]

[Weakest Undefeated: Well, I'll be free a little longer. Thanks to Laurel...]

[Fourth Calamity: What have I done this time?]

Laurel wryly replied that before manipulating the system once more.

[Fourth Calamity: Anyways, I've set the timer to one hour; prepare anything you wish to prepare now before we set out.]

Inputting that, Laurel rose from his seat, summoning the sword device:

Nidhogg, which fell into his hands, showcasing a white sheath with blue lines trailing it. Unsheathing it, it let out a frosty breath, taking on a new shape.

"Yo. How has it been? Have you finally submitted?"

To Laurel's words, the sword device vibrated with a low whirr.

"Who knows? If you stick with me long enough, you might just evolve into a real machine dragon."

It was just a silly thought, one that made him chuckle. However, even he couldn't deny the possibility of such a thing happening.

However, WHIRR-!

"Oh? You're interested in becoming a machine dragon?"

Whirr!

This time, it let out a low whirr.

Laurel blinked once, then twice before a laugh escaped his lips. But, if anything, it was out of respect for the sword device.

Wiping the trail of frost that condensed at the corner of his eyes, he nodded.

"Mhm. I also don't think it's impossible. So do your best, Nidhogg."

WHIR!

Now, he was more curious about what would happen if he obtained something like the "Covenant of Time."

For Luminous, being a spiritual lifeform with an infinite lifespan, it's basically an infinite time glitch for her.

Then what would happen if said "Covenant of Time" was taken to the Cardinal World and she assimilated it there?

Wouldn't she be able to control time?

Yes, stronger inhabitants could use suspended worlds, arguably a stronger time stop; Luminous, on the other hand, would have something less draining than using said ability.

Heck, maybe Luminous herself would solve Tensura's paradox with Chloe.

"Looks like both of us would be taking a trip together after our first mission, right, Luminous~♡"
