Chapter 1
A harsh slap landed on the cheek of a girl with long, brown , curly hair. The effect was so great, it sent her reclining on the floor. Her leg bumped against the sharp corner of the table and blood started to ooze out of her fresh wound.
I didn't do it , the girl screamed at the top of her lungs, when she touched her leg and felt the sticky liquid smearing her hand , before the pain came in a harsh wave. "I said I didn't do it" Filling her eyes to the brim were unshed tears , which she tried her hardest to suppress she didn't want to cry. Or let him see her weakness.
On the other hand, the man who had slapped her, he stood still . Anger rolled off his body. The door slammed open , "What is going on here?" The beautiful woman in her early forties appeared with unbelievable shock written all over her face . She had the same brown hair as the crying girl but hers was shortly trimmed .
"Selena " her face went very pale when she saw the blood on the floor and her precious daughter crying out of pain, curling her body into a fetus like position. "Alpha! What have you done to my daughter?! She stooped down next to Selena and started to cry as well.
Alpha Derek, the man who had slapped Selena, stood there without blinking his eyes. He watched the mother and daughter cry helplessly . He didn't feel any ounce of pity for either of them . He hated this family to the brim.
He grabbed Selena by her hair and dragged her out , to further humiliate her, her mother called for her father immediately ,
Arthur! Arthur ! Come quick the Alpha has lost his mind. People were beginning to gather , confused by the commotion.
It didn't take long for for a man to appear with a deep frown between his brows , he was the most respected Elder, he served the late Alpha diligently , and was almost made the new alpha , but he rejected the position to stay neutral.
what happened? His eyes widened in terror when he saw his daughter's leg , bleeding so profusely, she is a shifter, the wound must be so deep if the bleeding has not stopped already.
Without a second thought he cradled her in his arms, let's take her to the healer, the Alpha growled, stopping Arthur in his tracks, if you dare to move again , I will make you regret it . I will send both you and your family to the healer with the worst injury possible, and i promise you it will scar you permanently
The Alpha said in a low and dangerous tone, every word laced with venom and anger , Dereck has always hated the Hati family, when his father died the people wanted Arthur, his father's beta as alpha and up on till now he is yet to receive approval from some of his people.
"But Alpha she needs to be taken to the healer , she must not miss the best time for treatments", Arthur pleaded . The Alpha retorted with a snarl, she is a shifter a small wound cannot kill her . The crowd had fully gathered and everyone wanted to hear the story .
Alpha Dereck got closer to Arthur , he looked down at the young girl cradled in his hands, he yanked her down , earning gasps from the crowd, your daughter had committed a grave crime against the throne.
Arthur's eyes widened in disbelief his daughter is well behaved and everyone knew this, "there must be a mistake somewhere " , "can your majesty explain further " , Alpha Dereck voice thundered, your daughter attacked the chosen Luna of this pack yesterday, just because she's my mate .
The word "mate hung in the air " Your mate ? Your majesty let me understand, Arthur tried to reason ,if she is your mate , then she has every right to attack anyone , who claimed to be Luna, it is very understandable. Everyone nodded in agreement.
In that case , the Alpha walked towards Selena, stand up, he instructed her, held by her father, she stood up.
I Alpha Derek Hale,reject you ,selena Hati, as my mate and Luna" you are a disgrace dawn , you can never be my Luna , he said staring into her eyes
Everyone gasped again , he was rejecting me for Elsa Rudy the woman I hate so much , we had an argument yesterday, when I left she was doing okay , how come the Alpha claims I hurt her ?
I could feel my heart breaking . my wolf was howling inside me and I could feel her pain. She just lost her other half , and to think I had a crush on him for a whole five years , I was really happy to find out he was my mate .
He was looking right at me, and I could see the pain in his eyes, our bound was breaking,but he refused to show it . I looked at my mom and my dad ,they all pitied me, everyone knew the pain of being rejected , I have never been so disgraced in my life , I always followed the rules but what did I get ? , I took a deep breath.
I Selena Hati ,accept your rejection, there was a stunned look on his face , other wolves would fall to their knees in pain but I refused to let him see me that way. I stood there with my head up high .
Realization hit him hard , he had excepted me to cower in fear and plead for mercy, but I was a proud daughter of my father , even if it broke my heart , I choose not to let him break me.
His voice reverberated through the compound , the family of the Hati's are hereby banished from the pack , they are not to set foot in this pack again. The people murmured , some silently disapproved his decision. But no one dare to say anything.
My Father stood in disappointmen and silence, he looked at me , I shook my head gesturing I was fine. I limped back into the house, without looking back at the Alpha.
