Lucifer tried to ignore the gossip of the people on the street. Even if he wanted to punch them for constantly gossiping about Lucifer, he couldn't do that.
If he did, Lucifer would have to face all four superheroes and hundreds of citizens that were gathering around them.
Since Lucifer had been humiliated and experienced situations a hundred times worse than this, the malicious gossip didn't make Lucifer feel uncomfortable anymore.
'But where are we going?'
Lucifer didn't even know where he was going. Curious, he walked closer to the blue superhero and asked:
"Hey, where are we going?"
But the blue superhero didn't answer. He continued to walk while waving his hand happily and friendly.
Thinking that his question was drowned out by the surrounding noise, this time, Lucifer even touched the blue superhero's shoulder and asked louder:
"Hey, where are we going?"
But then the blue superhero unexpectedly pushed his arm away. The way he treated Lucifer was as if he was treating something disgusting.
Then, he whispered into Lucifer's ear so softly that only Lucifer could hear:
"Hey, you should remember your current status. You're nothing, alright? A slave should act like a slave. Don't try to talk to me like we are friends."
Lucifer was stunned, it seemed that what the people surrounding them said was the truth.
According to what Lucifer knew about the Trial, it seemed that the people who appeared here were not real people, but had all died long ago. That's why Lucifer didn't need to feel guilty about killing them.
Lucifer deliberately avoided getting close to the remaining superheroes because being with them made him feel very uncomfortable. Lucifer hated hypocrites like those superheroes.
'But how am I supposed to complete this Trial?'
Normally, if one wanted to escape from this place, that person would need to complete the criteria set by the system. But unfortunately, no one knew what those criteria were.
Just as Lucifer was still thinking, the sky suddenly turned dark even though it had been bright and full of life just now.
'What the hell?'
Seeing this unexpected scene, Lucifer was 90% sure that something terrible was about to happen.
And just as Lucifer had predicted, right after the sky was completely covered in blood-red clouds, a deafening roar rang out. This roar was so loud that it made Lucifer's entire body tremble and caused the glass panels of the tall buildings to shatter into pieces and fall to the ground like raindrops.
Immediately after, the ground shook violently.
In the distance, a giant monster had successfully climbed up a tall building. This monster looked quite similar to a gorilla but much more terrifying.
It had hundreds of eyes on its face along with blood-colored fur and four massive arms that could smash anything. Not only that, the monster also had two giant claws like those of a crab and on its back was a sword as big as an airplane.
Lucifer froze when he saw that monster. Meanwhile, the superheroes were drawing out their weapons while the people were running away in panic.
Lucifer also quickly searched for the black superhero's weapon. The weapon he found was just a shotgun that looked a bit more modern. Lucifer didn't even know if he could protect himself using this shotgun.
But would Lucifer fight that monster? Of course not. He wasn't stupid enough to fight that terrifying monster.
After all, Lucifer was just a skinny, weak boy with no fighting experience against the monster at all.
Lucifer started running after the citizens to escape, it seemed like the other superheroes didn't pay much attention to him.
'Just stay there and die, superheroes.'
The Crab Gorilla started roaring, the monster's roar made the earth and sky shake a lot. Because of that, all the citizens who were running lost their balance and fell, including Lucifer.
Lucifer reflexively turned back to look at the Crab Gorilla.
The superheroes were rushing towards the monster, while the monster was spitting something out of its mouth. The thing that the monster spat out looked slimy and squishy, it had no shape at all.
But then that slimy thing started to shake. Long tentacles started to grow out of that slimy thing, the sight was so horrifying that Lucifer wanted to vomit immediately.
Immediately after, that slimy thing started to move at an extremely fast speed towards Lucifer and the people using its tentacles. The speed of this thing was even faster than that of a car.
"Ahhh!"
The screams of the people rang out everywhere and they started running in panic. Lucifer also ran after them to try to escape from that slimy creature.
However, running away from the slimy thing was nearly impossible because that slimy creature had the speed of a car. Lucifer realized that, but if he didn't run, he would die from that thing.
The shotgun that Lucifer had only had 2 shots left, so he couldn't waste even a single shot. He wasn't even sure if this shotgun could kill that slimy thing or not.
Running forever wasn't an option for Lucifer, so he needed to think of a way to deal with that monster or escape from it.
'What should I do now?'
Lucifer thought as he ran. But then he suddenly turned his eyes towards the innocent people that were running in front of him.
An idea popped into Lucifer's head the moment he saw those people. He let out a sinister smile, his eyes flashing as if he had seen gold.
Lucifer deliberately knocked down a man who was running near him. The man lost his balance and fell right after. He looked at Lucifer with a look of shock and despair.
Before the man could curse Lucifer, one of the monster's tentacles pierced through his heart, and then the man seemed to be sucked dry.
His previously sturdy body was now just skin and bones, but what was worse was that he was still alive.
Lucifer couldn't imagine what kind of torture he would have to endure if he were captured by that monster. But then, Lucifer noticed that when the monster sucked the man's blood, it stopped for a moment.
Lucifer smiled triumphantly. He had an even better plan.
