Kaiden smirked at her but decided to let it go. She clearly had her own issues, and he wasn't interested in adding more to her plate. "Thanks for asking. I feel sore all over my body, but I know that he will help me reach my goal, so I'm feeling very motivated."
Aria sighed with great relief when she heard he wasn't going to seriously accuse her. Then, she glanced at him again, "Soreness isn't good. Do you maybe want me to help you stretch?" This time, she gave him a beautiful smile, but he felt the desperation that was badly hidden behind it.
Kaiden grimaced inwardly. Liam told him yesterday that trainers had no fixed salary and only got paid when they were on the clock with a client. Thus, her offer was either purely out of the goodness of her heart, or she still wanted to poach him. He wasn't born yesterday, so he knew that chances were that it was the latter.
"Sure, but I'm not going to be changing trainers, and that's a fact."
Aria sighed dejectedly once again, "I'm sorry, but I just remembered that I have something to do..."
Kaiden chuckled, and, to be honest, he felt very proud because not only were his instincts proven to be spot on, but he managed to resist her overwhelming feminine charms as well. "Don't worry about it. I don't know why you need money so desperately, and I'm not going to ask. With that being said, I have been presented with an opportunity you might want to jump on just like I did."
Seeing the interest in her eyes, Kaiden knew she was interested. "Liam had introduced me to a bar that needs serving staff during the night shift. I could introduce you if you would like me to. For the record, the owner is almost as ripped as Liam and looks a lot meaner, so you don't have to worry about guests being touchy, he's there throughout the entirety of the night shift."
Her expression changed as she heard his offer. At the beginning of it, she was miserable, then curious, after which she turned hopeful. Her near-lifeless eyes sparkled a tiny bit as she said, "I-I think I might take you up on your offer. Can you maybe introduce me personally? I'm not good with phone calls, and Liam already looks very scary to me, so if this guy is even worse, then…"
Kaiden didn't expect such a bombshell, who worked a very social job, to act so shyly, but he had no issues with accommodating her request.
"Sure. I'm going there at 10 pm. Is that good for you?"
"Yes. Should be. I mean, I usually go to sleep at that time, but I need the money, so…" Aria responded wryly.
Kaiden didn't react to what she said, instead simply deciding to ask for her phone number so that he could send her the details. She had no objections and happily typed it into his phone.
Although it wasn't for the reason he wanted, Kaiden finally scored the number of a gorgeous girl. As far as he was concerned, it was a big achievement. A conversation that started as a short, business-oriented messaging session may end up going a long mile.
