Synopsis
In 2025, the temperature started plummeting radically. Noticing this, scientists from around the world began investigating the phenomenon and learned that, in a span of two months, the world would be uninhabitable. Hence, all countries decided to send one million of their respective citizens—individuals possessing skills that could help rebuild the world—into cryogenic hibernation for 1,000 years.

Chapter 1 - 1000 Years Sleep

---

Rick was on his bed, covered with two blankets, shivering as he looked at the TV. Breaking news: the temperature had dropped to -60°C to -80°C and was still dropping day by day. The world governments had decided to give one million skilled individuals from every country a chance to sleep for 1000 years. If you are a soldier with a good record, your place is guaranteed.

This place is colder than hell. I'm going to join the military camp to be among the chosen ones to be frozen for 1000 years," Rick said to himself.

Rick got in his car and drove for two hours straight to the area mentioned on the TV. He was surprised to see over 1000 people outside in the cold, standing in a line. Rick walked to the front of the line and said, "I'm an ex-soldier."

After talking, he saw a man who looked like a soldier in the military call him to come to the front of the line.

"Hello, my name is Rick," said Rick as he showed his ID and stood before a metal machine to be scanned.

"Do you have any disease?" a doctor suddenly asked.

"No," replied Rick.

"Step in," said the soldier as he waved the gun in his hand.

Rick came in and discovered the building had indoor heaters. It was a relief after being in the cold for so long.

Rick then noticed a couple of hundred people inside, and they were all dressed in full white clothing. When he was in front of the door, a soldier pushed a bracelet with the number (649) onto his wrist, handed him a package of white clothing, and pointed to the bathroom beside them.

A few minutes later, Rick emerged from the bathroom dressed in the full white clothing.

He was led in with the others to wait a bit longer. After half an hour had passed—according to the big clock on the wall—all of the scientists, doctors, and soldiers left since all of them were loaded into the hibernation pods and instantly asleep.
