In front of the group was a massive white, stony construct, hundreds of meeter tall with the tip obscured by the clouds, this was the Shen passage, a form of path carved with strange white stone.
Fei Yue could see various strange engraving on the white stone.
The leader raised his hand, and various specs of lights white light gathered around his hand, he touched a small platform in the base of the construct, and the engravings on the construct began to glow, soon the entire stone started to glow, the light gradually extend up words, a white light gathered on the entrance of the construct, forming a small thin almost translucent barrier.
"I've inserted the Co-ordinates, let's go" the leader entitled first, followed by his men, pretty soon Fei Yue herself entered the.
...
She felt as though she was being swuized through a tight space, her right hand which she had extended to touch the barrier entered first, prrety soon she felt cold winds brush against her skin, the she followed through with her entire body.
The other side was pretty much the same, a secluded valley in the middle of a circular mountain change, behind them the barrier gradually dissipated and the doorway disappeared.
The group continued their journey, from that shen passage to dawn city was about half a days work, and in no time, they came upon a greasy field, almost devoid of snow, in thr distance was dawn city, it huge gate spiraled upwards, preventing those outside from seeing what was going on withn the city.
They quickly joined the crowd walking up to the city gates, "One silver notes, for entry, by order of the city lord." while the guards charge all who entered the city a single silver note, Fei Yue and the other entered the city without paying the fine.
A large bustling city immidiatly came into view, Fei Yue quietly follow behind as usual, takin the new scenery into mind, the scene around her was strange, she'd never seen anything like this, this was the most amount of people she's every seen in one place.
The streets where overcrowded, merchants uttered words that beconed people to patronize their goods, everything was sold here in the open, she acted like a typical country side bumbkin, her gaze flickering from side to side as she the environment.
She noticed her dressing was vastly different from the way other people dressed. Like the preiste, most people dressed in silk, while her on the other hand wore cloths fashioned from animal hide, she noticed quit alot of people staring at her strangely when she enterd the city.
...
Moments later the group arrived before a large 15 meeters tall pagoda, in the eastern side of the city. This was the central pagoda and the Rigional headquarters of the 'Golden Order' here in the 'Lower Rigions', one could visibly see streams of people coming in and out of the pagoda, most of whom quickly bowed their heads upon seeing the group.
Fei Yue could deduce that the man was a high ranking official of the Golden Order.
The others quickly dispersed, leaving only Fei Yue and Di Tian, "You come with me", Fei Yue nodded and silently followed the man into inside the pagoda.
Inside was luxeriously decorated and spacious opening, with various stairs leading to various floors, Fei Yue noticed various individuals clad in robes varying in colores ascending or descending this stairs.
Both of them took the stars upwards, eventually they arrived in what appeared to be Di Tians office with long table in the middle and a multitude of seats.
The man immidiatly assumed his supposed sit and beckoned, Fei Yue sit down, a hushed silence hung in the air, neither of them spoke in the first few moments.
Di Tian broke the silence, "Do you know what an adept it, madam Fei" he spoke, however Fei Yue didn't respond, this caused the man to release a slight chunkle.
He observed the Crimson eyes of Fei Yue who seemed to be feigning ignorance, "there's no need to hide from me, so you can drop the act.
"You think i killed my entire village along side my husband and daughter?" Fei Yue inquired, her voice laced with anger and bitterness, as she clenched tightly on the arm rest of the wooden chair, her bright red eyes flickering with grif.
"I asked a simple question. See I know you are an adapt, same way I know you didn't kill anyone" the man paused, he placed both his elbows on the table, clasped his palm together forming a triangle shoe before placing his lips on the top of his fingers.
At this point his gentleman demeanor was totally torn away, replace by the cold gaze seemingly capable of cutting through anything.
At this moment Fei Yue felt herself covered in sweat, as she subconsciously moved backwards, her chair made squicky sound in protest, fear gripped her, as a sudden chill fell through her spine.
"Now, I'm sure you know adepts are capable of. On what you've lost, I can only sympathize with you, I could as well end you with a snap of my finger, so mind your tone when you speak to me" his voice sounded Grimm, a wide smile painted his lips, the occasional laugh in between his speach made him look like a sadistic demon.
As a stage 3 great adept, most people wouldn't even dare to breath loudly in his presence, here he was being yelled at by a mortal, who just became an adept not more that two days ago, how laughable.
The man suddenly release a long sigh, 'perhaps I overdid it' he muttered to himself, as he looked at the petrified woman.
"You husband and daughter are dead, your whole village lost. Too weak to seek revenge and you have no were to go" Di Tian said, his voice cold, his eyes sharp as a crow's.
"And also" At this moment, Di tian paused, Raking over Fei Yue her trembling form. Her gaunt frame seemed to wither further under his gaze, fragile as a lotus stalk battered by monsoon winds.
"And also you are too old to be take under a capable wing" Although he didn't have any apprentice directly under him, he wouldn't mind taking one, he just did not have any need.
For Fei Yue's loss he would have taking her in out of share empathy but she was too old, a woman in get mid twenties would be swallowed by the tides that are the much younger and more talented practitioners, plus she would be a waste of resources.
The best he could do for here is help her live her life as a mortal.
The man then brought opened one his safe, in it contained shiny golden and silver notes, all arranged in bulks according to their value.
He then handed a cupple of silver notes to Fei Yue, dozens to be exact, he had precisely counted a hundred silver, and a one gold notes, "Here this will be enough for you to live confortably in the city" he could have given her more, but having that much money would bring more harm to her than good.
Actually a hundred silver and a single gold note would be considered a huge sum of money, if the woman doesn't spend too lavishly she would not need to work for the rest of her life.
If she was smart she would tell no one of this encounter.
Fei Yue collected the money, "Thank you Mr Tian" this time clearly more respectful in her tone, with fear still visible in her eyes.
"You may leave" he waved his hand dismissing Fei Yue, who stood up to leave the room, not wanting to longer any further, she quickly hurried out.
Before long the Di Tian was alone in his office, before he quickly buried himself in his duties, shuffling through the mountain of papers meticulously arranged in his table.
