[This chapter serves as a basic power system overview]
Ink is a power system based on memories where people gain power by sacrificing memories to awaken.
The ink takes the form of an item related to the memory, and the abilities gained are also related.
These people are called inkers, not to be confused with the inker profession artist. Artists are people who imbue others with ink to try and help others awaken.
If ink is overused past the user's capacity, then there is a chance of the user becoming hollow. Ink fades when depleted and takes time to regenerate.
Hollows are mindless beings that only attempt to attack whatever is in front of them. They take on different shapes, and their body becomes distorted and demonic.
There are two paths to ink:
The path of divinity, where they sacrifice memories:
-Emergence
-Divergence
-Convergence
-Resonance
-Ascendance
-Transcendence
-Reverence.
-Transcendents are known as demi-gods, and Reverents are known as deities.
The path of Corruption, where they steal ink from others:
-Fissure
-Splinter
-Corrosion
-Fracture
-Contamination
-Withering
-Hollow
-Those at Withering are devils, and those at Hollow are demons.
-Unlike the path of divinity, they can steal as much ink as they wish, with no number limitation.
Progression is made by forcing the ink to combine back within the user, and at every subsequent stage, another memory can be sacrificed. However, every ability after enhances any shortcomings of the previous ability.
Power comes not from luck or talent but from loss.
