As I set down my pen I hear the heavy swishing of Akira's footsteps and turn around.
I search her eyes purple from a lack of sleep and embrace her. As I explain I must leave for a few days, it almost feels like I'm abandoning her.
My heart aches as she accepts this fact with her head placed upon my shoulder.

In time I find myself standing at the entrance to hell. A dark stone arch where all life seems to cease existing. Beyond the patch of death lies the most beautiful sight. Lush fields of the brightest greens and blues made more beautiful by a certain flower: the spider lily. It's slender red petals curve upwards leading my eyes to the sky as the sun sets in a beautiful red-orange.
I raise my arm and wonder if Akira is watching the sunset before stepping into the gate of hell.
