Had anyone been out of the capital in the early morning, they would have seen a carriage approaching on the road they walked on. Two people, trying to stay awake after having to deal with everything they saw and did in a single night.
Frisk: "So first, we'll drop by the capital, and pick up Raphtalia, Keel, and Rifana. Next, we take them to their destroyed home. Then finally, we ask them if they all wish to remain here along with the other children?"
Naofumi: "...Yes, the least we can do for them and the other children is for them to visit their old home. Man… I feel so tired."
Naofumi let out a yawn as he took out an energy potion. He immediately drank the potion as he felt his energy had recovered, but not enough as he let out another yawn.
The two were able to get away from the mansion before more people showed up. The corpses of the villagers were absorbed in the shield as the carriage barely had any room for them, and they didn't want the children to see their deceased parents.
Naofumi: "Looks like we're about to reach the capital. Hmm… Frisk, could you go get the three children? I think it best if I look after the other children here."
Frisk: "Of course, I think it best if nobody sees the survivors of the village. Make sure to hide the carriage so that no one can spot you."
Naofumi nodded as Frisk hopped off the carriage. They took one glance at the children who were still asleep. It seems that the children were able to sleep without having any nightmares. But who knows if one of them could be dreaming of one.
It was a thought Naofumi had if he didn't tell Frisk his suggestion.
Frisk: "Do we have enough supplies for everyone? I could buy more while I get the children."
Naofumi took a look at his item menu; he noticed that there was meat from the monsters they had slain on their way to the mansion. But he doubts that it will be edible for the children, especially since there are more than what they expected.
Naofumi: "You should buy more, get at least portions that will help with their nutrients. Maybe even nice clothes since I doubt it will be comfortable for them to keep on wearing rags."
Frisk nodded as they left the carriage. Naofumi was watching over the children to ensure that they were all safe and sound. They quickly pick up the pace as they arrive at the castle town entrance and notice that the guards are more alert and serious about whoever enters.
Frisk and Chara are surprised by what they're seeing after a week of being in this world.
Chara: "Huh, this is strange; normally, you would see them just lazing around. Even the other guards who take over their shifts. Maybe something must have happened here during the night. I don't see how else they would have known of the massacre you and Naofumi caused last night."
Frisk could only nod as they cast Fast Hiding. As they entered the capital, they quickly went to the place where demi-humans would be seen. Once they reached the place and entered, they felt the spell wore off.
Frisk immediately felt a bit worried. Naofumi would make those who worship him back off of their hatred of humans, but because he isn't with them, the demi-humans might do something to them.
And like how they predicted a demi-human and a beastmen approach Frisk, their expressions showed no sights of kindness or patience.
"What's a puny human doing here!? Showing your disgusting face here!"
"Going to threaten us by making us slaves!? You looked pathetically weak for an ordinary human."
One resembles a male dog, which reminds them of wherever a dog growls at them while the other resembles a bird who looks ready to attack.
Chara: "Not even monsters were this mean to humans. At least to what the others said "
Before anything could escalate further the bartender shouted out to the two.
"Hey! That human was with our god, he's obviously here to inform us about the mission our god said."
The bartender was a rabbit demi-human who was one of the few who didn't have a problem with Frisk, which they noticed during their previous visit.
"How would you know? For all we know this human scum could have abandoned our god!"
The dog beastmen shouted as he attempted to grab Frisk, but they dodged as they saw another attack coming as they dodged a feather strike.
"Stop! There's no fighting in here!"
But the demi-human and beastmen didn't listen as Frisk dodged attack after attack. They knew they had to do something or else things would be worse or, in their case, they wouldn't be able to get Raphtalia, Keel, and Rifana.
Frisk: "How about I'll show you why I'm here!"
With no hesitation, Frisk took out a box from their item menu and threw it on the ground, which was open by force, and inside was the face of a chubby man.
Now, that sounds very Rated M for a world like this, but this was a world, heck, a universe different from what they're used to. At least to Frisk and Chara, they are aware of… The fourth wall of what is different between what should be seen and what shouldn't.
Anyway, back to the story.
First, there was silence, followed by gasps and shock, then words were shouted until someone recognized the head of the chubby man.
"Wait! Isn't that the human bastard that was in the war! The one that was beside that bastard king!"
Soon everyone now recognized the head as every demi-human and beastmen looked on in awe and pure surprise. It is not a secret that everyone knows the people who fought the war between Melromarc and Siltvelt, the cause, the reason, the people, and the history; almost nobody hasn't heard about the war from years ago.
"Wasn't he a lord and a veteran!? How in the name of the Shield Hero did you—!"
Frisk: "Because he had your kind as slaves! And by orders of the Shield Hero, we killed him for what he did to your people!"
Chara: "Wait! Frisk, what are you doing?"
The plan was that in case they unwillingly get caught in a conflict they would show the head of the bastard who tortured the poor children and just walk away with no words.
Frisk: "Your god and I went to the home of this scum, and witnessed demi-human children and adults in such terrible conditions we never thought we could have imagined. Killed all those who dared lay their hands on those who were defenseless, slaves, and in control of slave crests! We freed who was able to survive such torture and ensure the safety of those survivors."
They approach and kick the head towards the two that fight them as Frisk sees their action. The two went from looking angry at Frisk's appearance to surprised at the head of the person they hated when they heard of him.
Frisk: "So tell me, does this make me different from other humans? Do my actions still make you see that I'm like other humans? Does my own kindness, and justice make you see that there could be other kind humans in this unforgiving country?"
No one said anything, either were too stunned by what Frisk said or still processing what they were witnessing and hearing.
Frisk: "Honestly, it does seem hard to believe there are other humans out there who don't mind your kind, and to be fair, I may not know how you all feel about your hatred of humans. But I understand why. Humanity keeps on twisting the knife of what they continue to do to those who are not like them. Not every human is good, but that doesn't mean they are all bad. You all just haven't met a good human."
They began to walk away.
Frisk: "We all may not get along, but that will not stop me from what I believe is right. And right now, I am determined to see three children who are waiting for my return. To fulfill the promise me and your god swore we would do. And that head is what we did to ensure that."
They said nothing else as they walked away from the scene they made. Every demi-human and beastmen who watched and listened was slowly coming to their senses and watching the human they were wary of walk away.
No one said anything or did anything that involved Frisk; they could glance at the head of the scum who hurt their kind.
"Hey, bartender."
The rabbit demi-human looked at the dog beastmen who were attacking the human as he put down a bag that sounded like money.
"Give this to the human who we wrongly attacked."
With that, he and his companion left without a word. Either ashamed of their actions or looked like they were given a reality check. No one said anything about it as a few people cleaned up the mess while everyone was now talking about the human.
Frisk didn't care about how they now thought of them; all they cared about was seeing the three children and letting them know that their other friends were with them, even if not all of them. But they would at least let them reunite with a few who were in the same situation as them. It was a start.
Chara: "You know… What you said could have greatly increased Naofumi's image as their god."
Frisk whispered as they wouldn't want to be heard talking to themselves.
Frisk: "I know that, but you and I both know that they would rather believe what they want to believe than hear it from those, like me, who don't see Naofumi as a god. Sometimes you just have to use what others say about anyone."
Chara sighs as they can see what they meant as they approach the room where they left the children. They knocked on the door just in case they were still asleep, but to their slight surprise, someone opened the door, and what they saw was… Raphtalia!
Raphtalia: "Ah! Mr. Dreemurr! You're back!"
Raphtalia was the person to open the door; Frisk could see the raccoon demi-human child greeting Frisk as they offered Frisk to come inside the room. Frisk let themselves in as they were immediately hugged by Rifana; she tightly held Frisk in her arms.
Rifana: "Mr. Dreemurr! You came back! Did the Shield Hero also come back?"
Frisk can see that the conditions on both girls looked better than what they saw yesterday. They also noticed that Keel was still asleep but seemed like he was about to wake up.
Frisk: "Naofumi is waiting for us outside the capital. And… Let's just say the promise I made to you is nearly fulfilled."
Both Rifana and Raphtalia went quiet about what Frisk said, while Keel was looking confused as he noticed Frisk and greeted him.
Keel: "Mr. Dreemurr, you came back!"
He, too, hugged Frisk as they returned the hug and grabbed his and Rifana's hand.
Frisk: "Come on, your friends will soon wake up. Plus, we'll need to do a quick shopping as we have many mouths to feed and some clothes while I'm at it."
The three children just simply nodded as they walked alongside Frisk as they all exited the secret place, not before Frisk was informed of the extra money they received. When they heard why Frisk couldn't help but let out a smile as they thanked the bartender.
Chara: "Guess that somewhat worked. Not sure if that will work again if there's another secret place within Melromarc."
Frisk: "(Well, at least the demi-humans here know that I'm different.)"
Once Frisk and the children were out in the open they quickly hid them underneath their cloak as they traveled to the nearest clothing store. Luckily for them, Erhard had informed them and Naofumi about a woman who didn't mind demi-humans as she ran a clothing store.
So after finding the store that Erhard had told them about, Frisk and the children entered as they saw that there was no one there. Then again, it was pretty early so not many people were aware or in the streets. Still, they were greeted by a kind voice.
Frisk couldn't help but notice how pretty she looked. Her clothes resembled a tailor, her hair was light brown, which nearly matched her brown eyes, glasses, and… Something tells them that she had this aura of an otaku. They weren't sure how but it was what they felt when they first met Naofumi, but unlike Naofumi, her otaku aura was stronger.
Before they could say anything the tailor squealed at the sights of Raphtalia, Keel, and Rifana.
"Oh my goodness! How adorable you three are! Oh, it makes me want to hug you so tightly."
And she did exactly that, before the children could have reacted, the tailor already had them within her grasp. Even though they were hidden in Frisk's cloak. Frisk can instantly tell they aren't comfortable with having another human near or touch them.
Frisk: "Miss! Could you please let go of them! They all are very sensitive to being touched by someone else other than me."
The tailor immediately noticed how frightened they were. She quickly let go and backed away while the children tightened their hands around them. It was kinda adorable to see how much they trusted and were safe when being around them. Even Chara couldn't deny as she was squealing which was out of character even for them.
Anyway, the tailor immediately apologized while bowing to the kids.
"I'm sorry! It's just that you all are so adorable that I couldn't help myself."
Chara: "Honestly, Melody would have been hugging them nonstop until one of us had to pull them away from her. And to be fair, I wouldn't blame her."
Frisk could only slightly nod as they imagined the ballet dancer would act when seeing something cute. Still…
Frisk: "I'm sure you mean well, but setting this aside. I was wondering if we can buy clothing for these kids as well as for other children."
The tailor nodded enthusiastically as she took out a measuring tape while awaiting permission from Frisk to measure the children. Frisk slowly approached her with the kids following, Frisk knew that the tailor's action from a moment ago made them wary of her. So they whisper comforting words to them to lessen their fears.
Frisk: "It's going to be okay, she's just going to measure you all so that your clothes can be comfortable to wear."
The girls were still a bit afraid of being touched, but Keel looked like he was gathering up his courage as he carefully approached the tailor, saying that he'd let her take his measurements. The tailor smiled warmly as she slowly got to work while making sure she didn't scare him.
Frisk smiled at the slow development of Keel.
Chara: "Just one at a time. Isn't that how the saying goes?"
Frisk: "(Yet, you failed the literature test when you forced yourself to take control of my body during the middle of the semester.)"
Chara: "Well, it's not my fault that literature class was hard, I don't understand how you passed it."
Frisk: "(I passed because I paid attention, unlike you, who just either float around or just do something when nobody can see you.)"
Chara just scoffed while saying "details," as they did what Frisk said, floating around or just saying how the clothing here doesn't match her style.
"Okay, that will be enough for you, now for the two young ladies."
The tailor said as she wrote down Keel's measurements. But neither Raphtalia nor Rifana wanted to go or want to leave even a centimeter away from Frisk. They swear it reminds them of trying to get Melody and Batty to take a flu shot while hiding behind their backs.
Frisk: "Hey, like I said it's going to be okay. You both can hold my hand while she checks your measurements."
It seems to work as both girls had put their hands on Frisk's which they saw as if they were a comfort item tightly held. The girls could only watch as the tailor checked on their measurements. So while this was happening, Frisk checked on their party menu to see the level of their party.
Frisk: LOVE 3
Naofumi: LV 17
Raphtalia: LV 1
Keel: LV 1
Rifana: LV 1
So far, maybe in their imagination, Naofumi is the strongest in the party, Frisk didn't bother to try to compare stats as their system was clearly different from this world. And the fact that Naofumi has by far the highest stat for defense.
Still, if the kids, along with the other children, are all level 1, then it would be difficult for just them and Naofumi to protect, as their stats are just sad to see. And the fact Frisk had 0s in their attack and defense but could still do damage was just truly strange.
Frisk: "Excuse me, but I cannot help but ask if you can make the clothes special, like magical clothing since…"
There was something different from the monsters back home: demi-humans can have their bodies affected when leveling up; it's like how you can break the limit of your age just by leveling up. Say if a demi-human as a child reaches a certain point of level ups then their bodies grow into an adult much quicker. And if their level gets reset, then they are reverted back to their child's body.
But if a demi-human has already reached the age of adulthood, then if their level gets reset, they stay the same. So if Frisk allowed the kids to level up, then their bodies would someday reach adulthood but still remain the same age and mind as a child.
Chara had explained this to Frisk and Naofumi as it was something they should be aware of if they ever have a demi-human child in their party. They did mention that they saw it happen time and time again during the era they were still alive.
"Ah! I see what you're saying, of course; these cute demi-humans can grow depending on their levels. Although, surely you're not planning to endanger the children, right?"
Frisk: "-_-"
They didn't agree or deny what she said about the kids. Although she was clearly worried, she could see that the kids were slaves and were still wearing rags. But before she could say anything Frisk spoke.
Frisk: "They're former slaves, I'm not some SOULless being who dares to put slave crests on children. (Although I wouldn't calm myself like a saint as I did murder before and last night.) Let me show you, Raphtalia, Rifana, I order you to let go of my hands."
Normally, if the kids still had their slave crests and didn't obey orders, then they would be shocked until they obeyed. But because they didn't have the slave crests then they have no fear in obeying what Frisk said.
So neither girl did exactly what they said; they held their hands on Frisk's, not wanting to let go. And so reaction from either of them or a reaction from what the slave crest would normally do. So proving that they aren't slaves, the tailor sighs in relief.
"Thank goodness, I never did like Melromarc allowing slavery to anyone who is demi-human or beastmens. But to think they would stoop this low in enslaving demi-human children."
Frisk: "Yet, they still did, especially since…"
Chara: "They are the children of Lurolona Village and because of the first wave… Not only did they lose their home but also their freedom, parents… Everything."
While they know not everything can be fixed, restored, or go back to the way it was before, the best they can do is to give the survivors closer by seeing the remains of their old home. Perhaps they could help rebuild the village to the way it was, but they knew that other nobles who weren't slaughtered were still out there and had the other survivors. Including those who were not in Melromarc.
Frisk: "Anyways, while I don't like to see them fight after all they had to endure, they would have to, at some point, level up to protect themselves."
The tailor could only sigh as she saw Frisk's point. Especially since demi-humans are second-rate citizens in Melromarc and are not very well-liked. Especially the Three Heroes Church.
"Well, everyone's measurements are written down; let me prepare clothes for you three. Also, sir, you mention other kids, yes? How much clothing do you wish to buy?"
Frisk: "Err… Will it be alright to prepare 10 extra pieces of clothing, perhaps with the same measurements as the three?"
They weren't sure if the other children were the same height or size as the three, but perhaps with the magic clothes, it wouldn't matter.
"It will cost extra because of the magic thread, but if you can afford it then it will be alright."
Frisk: "Oh, money isn't the issue, it's just I'm wondering if you're okay with making that much clothing."
The fact that they got a whole lot more money since they raided the mansion last night was something that should be considered a good thing, as that fat bastard deserves to not only be killed but have his home ruined and raided. They took wherever they could put in Naofumi's shield that could be sold or destroyed later.
Because of that decision they made it looked like powerful bandits or thieves had invaded the mansion. And the fact that they used the Knife of Determination as a weapon that bandits would use when raiding.
So, on the plus side, neither they nor Naofumi will have to worry about their financial problems as they have enough to perhaps last half a lifetime. And that no one else will have items that were used for pain and torture, like the cursed whip they found. The many whip marks on the children they saw only proved that they had to get every item they could find.
"It will take perhaps… An hour or so. Are you okay with waiting that long?"
Frisk: "Yes, I don't mind waiting; plus, I was planning on shopping for food for these kids. We can use the time to get breakfast and come back after an hour if that's alright with you."
"It's no problem, it's early in the morning. Oh before you all go, I would like to ask you kids about your preference and color for your clothes."
So after staying for a few more minutes, with encouragement from Frisk, as it got the three to say that they would want something comfortable and with the colors red, pink, and grey. Raphtalia also made another request, she wanted all three of them to have similar clothing but not entirely. And with that, they all left the store with the three kids wearing cloaks to conceal their demi-human traits.
Frisk did not want anyone to notice the demi-human children, so he politely asked them to lower their ears so they wouldn't be seen and not wag their tails, which could move the back of their cloaks. They rather not want to hear anybody saying insults to them or would cause a scene that will put them more in trouble than themselves.
So after a nice breakfast meal with no confrontation from anybody who only took a glance at Frisk and the kids before continuing their morning, they went shopping for food as they could only carry a few in their inventory and in bags. They are sure it's enough for at least 20 people to last a week.
They began to walk back to the tailor's store as Chara was doing some sort of meditation thing.
Chara: "Okay… Not sure if that works like the four previous attempts. But this is my first time trying to convey a message to Naofumi's shield."
Frisk: "(Well, let's hope he does or else we would have already seen him with the carriage. And he would have gotten worried that we haven't come back for an hour.)"
Soon enough, they were back in the tailor's store, and they were greeted by the same woman who greeted them an hour and a half ago. And this time, she seemed very pleased, as if she was proud of her own work.
"Welcome back! I will say, these dresses will look very cute on you three!"
The tailor spoke with pure excitement and geekiness. Yep, exactly how they felt and heard, a true otaku. Still, she went to grab the clothing she made as she presented it for everyone to see. Frisk and Chara watch in amazement at how well the… Wait.
F/C: "Dresses/Dresses??"
All three pieces of clothing were for girls, not a boy's one for Keel. Frisk was confused by this while Chara suddenly had an idea but kept it to themselves for a bit.
"Yes, for all three girls."
Silence soon followed as all eyes were now slowly being directly at Keel who looked stunned himself… Or…
Frisk: "Wait… Are you saying…"
The tailor seems to understand the silence and looks as she quickly explains.
"Keel may look like a boy, but in reality, he's actually a girl. To be honest it was a shock for me when my appraisal skill told me her gender. And the fact that this reveal makes me more excited about my work!"
Frisk felt that they should have done the check option after they saw Rifana's stats and information when they first met them. But since it was well past that they would have guessed his—her stats were like Rifana's.
The one who didn't seem too bothered by the reveal of Keel's true gender. It made the two Dreemurrs wonder if Otakus were this strange and weird.
Rifana: "Keel… You were a girl this whole time!?"
Rifana was having trouble processing this newfound information. Despite that, she was friends with him—her!
Keel: "H… How? Dad said that I was a boy, he even told me something about being a boy wouldn't matter how he saw me."
Chara: "Ohhhhhh, that explains why he—she thought she was a boy. Her mindset was influenced by her father perhaps when she was maybe 3-4 years old. Which made her believe she was a boy."
Frisk: "(It also meant that his father just went with the flow and didn't fix the obvious misunderstanding which made Keel truly believe she is a boy.)"
So the realization of Keel's gender lasted for five whole minutes of her being unable to accept reality. So after that episode, it was time for the kids to wear their new clothes.
And like the tailor said, it looks very cute on them. It even suits them well.
For Raphtalia, a red and black European-style dress layered above a white frilled dress. It honestly suits her as it makes her look like a pretty girl.
The same could be said for Rifana and Keel, as by Raphtalia's request, they too wore similar dresses like hers, but the red color was replaced by pink and gray, respectfully.
It also seems like Keel is still trying to get used to her real gender, as she looks a bit uncomfortable in her new clothes. But she wasn't rejecting the dress completely. So, with enough time, she will fully accept her new identity.
Frisk can understand Keel's perception of her identity. Time and time again monsters would refer to Frisk as they or them despite the clear signs of their gender. Even the words of the sentence. Hmm… Perhaps it was time to properly say their true pronouns he/him and Chara she/her.
"Here are the other clothes you requested; like you said, six dresses and four boy clothing."
The tailor presented Frisk with other clothing for the other children; it was during the rescue that they saw how many boys and girls were in that place. Six girls and four boys, a total of ten. After checking to see their stats and appearance Frisk knew the other children would like to have new clothes.
So after paying a little gold, as clothing with magic threads wasn't cheap to get, they soon exited the tailor store, not before thanking and saying goodbye to the tailor.
Frisk: "You know, I never got your name."
Amelia: "Oh? Well, I'm Amelia. It was a pleasure meeting you Mr…"
Frisk: "Frisk, Frisk Dreemurr."
And with that, the four quickly made their way back to where Naofumi was not before visiting two more places.
One was, unfortunately, visiting the slave trader, Frisk wanted to see if the man had any more information about the slaves of Lurolona Village. As Frisk wanted to prevent the kids from visiting where they were still slaves, they—he knew that he had to see if there was any news of the other survivors.
It also seems the three had the realization of what Frisk was doing, but to his surprise, the kids didn't complain, just willingly followed him even with a bit of fear still within them. Frisk calmly said to them that it would be quick and that they would leave as soon as they could.
Once they all reached and entered the tent Frisk was greeted by the short man as he welcomed Frisk.
"Welcome back value customer! It seems it's just you and not the Shield Hero. Well, beggars can't be choosers."
"Unfortunately I can't say the same."
Frisk said in a cold tone which, to their disgust, the short man smiled in glee at Frisk's coldness towards him.
"I may say Companion of the Shield. You sure stirred quite the commotion last night. Unless you wish to say it wasn't you two who not only raided Idol Rabier, the well-respected noble mansion but also killed him along with other nobles."
The three children had their eyes widened in fear of the name of their former slave master, but that quickly changed to utter shock when they heard he was killed. They all looked at Frisk. First, he sneered at the deceased piece of scum, then to surprise as he didn't expect word would reach the capital quickly.
Frisk: "How did you know about him being killed? I would have thought that it would take a bit longer than last night before someone found out and reported it to other higher-ups."
Frisk didn't even try to deny that it wasn't him and Naofumi. The slave trader, who Frisk guessed, had already put the pieces together when they asked for the name and location of the previous owner of Raphtalia, Keel, and Rifana and did what the man said.
"I have my own connections, but I can say it caused other nobles, even the king of Melromarc, to be furious at whoever murdered a wealthy noble. It even affected Three Heroes Church as not only just Idol Rabier but even the other nobles you killed were giving money to the church. Without their largest funder, the church will soon have trouble with their finances."
Chara: "I doubt we would care about that. If the biggest hater of demi-humans was giving money to the church, then the church itself is just as rotten towards demi-humans, especially to the Shield Hero. We already have proof of their hatred."
Frisk knew Chara was right as both she and he found rosaries of the Three Heroes Church on everyone who they killed as it matched the symbol at the entrance of the church. Chara even mentioned to Naofumi that it looked like it could be used as a knife since the blade of the sword was the longest despite its small size.
Still, it made them wary of the church as they swore to not even go near the church.
Frisk: "I can tell there's more. If you are unwilling to tell us then I doubt I'll continue on being 'kind' to you."
The man smiles excitedly at the increasing cold that Frisk is showing as he doesn't try to hide anything.
"Well, from what I'm seeing, it seems that you are unaware of a special secret service this world provides. We call them Shadows, they are people who can be assassins, bodyguards, messengers, spies, and intelligence. They are very good at gathering information as well as hiding their presence from anybody. It's difficult to tell if you are truly alone or not. Even to disguise themselves as an ordinary or important person."
This got Frisk and Chara to have their expressions shifted. From their knowledge, it seems that there are "ninjas" in this world. That means Frisk and Naofumi could have been spotted by a Shadow, but it seems neither was noticed.
"The Shadows have found their corpses and reported to whoever they are loyal to, which caused, as I said, quite a commotion between nobles and higher-ups. Not even the commoners are aware of this except for Rabier territory. And because there weren't any clues of who the culprits are despite the 'obvious' facts, it would only be a matter of time before someone claims it was the 'Shield Demon'."
Frisk: "So people were already blaming Naofumi before he was even summoned. But without proof of his 'existence' then I doubt people would fully believe it unless they see the Shield Hero themselves."
Chara: "Guess we got lucky to not get our identities revealed. Still, if people have already put some blame on Naofumi… Then there is no doubt he'll be blamed, even though it was particularly him, you were involved too."
"Yes, very true, value customer. After the first wave and the destruction of the demi-human village. The daughter of the deceased Lord Seaetto was accused of being brainwashed by the Shield Demon and was imprisoned at the castle dungeons."
Frisk heard the tiny gasps at the mention of two people. He quickly assumes that the two people mentioned are nice to the kids and well-respected by them. But it also means…
Frisk: "You said the daughter is imprisoned. Was there a reason?"
"Oh yes, you see, after the first wave, it was rumored that her family land was raided; some say that her father was attacked by assassins. She was able to find the slave hunters who captured the villagers, but like I said, they believed she was brainwashed and was put in a cell."
Frisk and Chara couldn't help but respect the daughter who tried to save the survivors. They felt that she was wronged by being thrown in a cell for doing the right thing. Frisk had realized that she was still in the cell at the castle as an idea suddenly came forward, a disgusting idea.
Frisk: "Is there a way to… Maybe purchase her."
Chara looked at Frisk as she was surprised by his idea. The kids looked horrified by the idea of having someone who they knew and liked being branded as a slave. The man, however, had a glee with a mix of concern.
"You do realize that it is illegal to have human slaves in Melromarc."
Frisk: "Yet, they allow demi-humans to be branded as slaves. And the fact the first time I've come here it looked like some kind of legal business before you reveal your true business."
"That is true. Well, nobody other than you and the Shield Hero knows this is a slave business. Perhaps I can make some arrangements for you. I can't say for how long it will take for me to have what you request."
Frisk could only sigh as he knew it wouldn't be easy. It's not like he can just go to the castle and request the daughter of the lord who was killed by either the wave or assassins.
Well actually… Scratch his entire idea.
Frisk: "You know what, just forget what I have said, I think I have a way to get her out of the cell."
"Oh? You do?"
Frisk: "I'll pay for you to keep this whole conversation a secret."
"Consider it done."
Frisk: "(Chara, send Naofumi another message. Tell him it's going to take a while longer for me to come back.)"
Chara only nods as she realizes what Frisk is going to do, and honestly, she doesn't mind the idea of recusing another person as this person in question should know a lot more about Lurolona Village.
