" You mean to say someone is deliberately trying to kill my brother? Does that person have a death wish?"
Aerin was beyond furious. She had literally just found her brother and now, someone was trying to kill him? Did that person really think that they would be able to kill her brother successfully? And with what, blue elves?! What a psycho.
Lyra sighed as she said, " I don't know Luc that well yet, but something tells me that hs not ordinary. He has something that they need. And the fact that he has a sister who uses shadow manipulation already guarantees my guess".
Aerin kept on frowning. Just how many conspiracies did she have to deal with? She felt utterly frustrated. " Why don't you want Luc to find out you're his sister?"
Aerin smiled as she stared blankly into a space, " It's better this way. But for the record, it doesn't mean I won't be with him. It just means he'll see me as an ally and not a sister. It's better if he doesn't find out".
Lyra didn't fully understand but she felt it was better that way. She nodded at Aerin, " Alright. I'll keep in touch then".
Aerin glanced at Luc one more time before nodding. She stood up and walked to the entrance, " Take care of my brother, witch. I'll be coming back sooner than you think, make sure to keep him safe ".
Lyra chuckled, " You make it sound like I'm his guardian. Moreover, why would you trust...a witch?" Aerin had thought about this too but quickly arrived at the answer, " I don't trust you, I trust my brother. I trust he's not a fool, nor a weakling. He can fend for himself. He'll be better once he awakens those powers of his".
Lyra found Aerin interesting. She was different from the others. She seemed cold and aggressive but she could tell she was soft in the inside, she cared.
Afterwards, Aerin left and soon enough, Luc woke up. The herbs had worked and he looked better now. Lyra mentioned nothing about Aerin to him but simply attended to his needs and soon enough, he was able to leave.
Lyra accompanied him back to the boundary of Old Tenoria, out of fear of him being attacked again. When they were there, Luc looked at her as he said, " Thank you for all the help you've given me. It's hard to believe that I just met you yet you helped me this much".
Lyra didn't smile nor frown, she simply replied, " I guess not all witches are as bad as you think" Luc frowned but Lyra simply laughed it off as she walked away.
Luc watched her walk away, feeling somewhat off. He put his hands in his pocket and brought out a paper. It was the page he had torn from her book. He looked at it and back at her departing back. He felt kinda....guilty.
.....
Lyra made her way through the Glades. Her footsteps were steady, having a path, silent still but her mind kept on wandering. Who has sent the blue elves after Luc? And furthermore, weren't blue elves infected elves? How could someone control them?
There were so many mysteries to figure out and that includes the magical blizzard. Were they all connected in any way or were they totally not related to each other?
Lyra stopped walking. She couldn't go back with these much problems. She needed to solve at least one today. With that thought, she walked in another direction of the Glades.
....
Meanwhile, in a deserted and unknown place....
A man sat in a chair, a cigarette in his mouth. He took a huge take of the cigarette before blowing another huge puff out. In front of him, someone was kneeling. It was a blue elf.
The man, while exhaling another puff of smoke, asked, " You couldn't kill him? You couldn't kill that good for nothing ordinary?" The man seemed pissed. He squashed the cigarette on the ashtray and tsked.
The tsk was followed by a kick to the elf's body. The man stomped on the elf two more times before bending down to grab his chin, " I did not give you power to fail. I gave you power because I wanted you to win, to achieve goals, to strike.... fear...."
The man let go offline the elf's chin, " And you said....a witch was protecting the boy? Did you recognize her?" The elf frowned as he tried to remember, " No, boss. But her appearance seemed like that if a white witch. But her magic...her aura...it seemed rather...dark"
The man thought hard, " Appearance of a white yet magic of the dark...." The man smirked, " It seems you've met the Monrae princess" Hs smirk became a grin as he became a bit excited.
" She has potential, it's no wonder you were scared of her. I don't blame you, the girl is frightening...." The man squatted down at the elf and added, " ...And that is why I need you to be smart around her. That girl isn't ordinary and I know you can't beat her, which is why she is strictly reserved....for me".
The man grinned. But then a crystal on the table began glowing, indicating someone...special was calling him. He did a swipe gesture over the crystal and Queen Lirien's hologram appeared.
" Well? Is it done?" She asked. The man laughed aloud, " If it were, wouldn't you have seen his blood already? Or isn't that what you requested as proof?"
Lirien frowned, " Why hasn't the job been completed yet, Garren? I thought you said that I should consider the job-—"
Garren immediately interrupted her, " Relax, queen, a man needs time to have a job well done. I'll get the job done, there are just some....setbacks" His eyes glowed with excitement as his grin broadened.
" Setbacks?" Lirien asked
" Just a witch-—"
" What is he doing with a witch?!" Lirien shrieked. Garren cleaned his ears with his finger while frowning as he said, " I said I'll take care of it. It's not too much of a problem. All I need is time and the blood will be sent to you, nice and fresh".
Lirien calmed down as she listened to him, " Alright, just....make it a little bit faster". Garren smirked, " Don't rush me, woman....or you might just regret it". And then he swioed in the same motion and the hologram disappeared.
Garren groaned clearly frustrated.
....
On the other side, SKY PALACE
Lirien was dumbfounded. He had hung up on her. And what did she hear him call her? Woman? Did he think they were of the same class or status? She scoffed, he didn't even deserve to clean her shoes and get her dared to call her woman.
Who did he think he was? Ugh, he was lucky this time, very lucky.
