Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 (Solo Ranger)

3:45 PM, Akizo Tonamiya. Physics class is the enemy of all normies. If you are not a prodigy the teachers will not look at you like a human, well that's what the kids say at least. This is my first class here, I was transferred to this class after I aced my old class, apparently, I was "too good" for them or something, it's just a bummer overall. As the students filled in the class, I noticed somebody eerily familiar almost as if I had seen that person before, she must have been a civilian during a Ranger fight, nobody should recognize me since we have full body suits, and when we are unprepared, we get simple masks, boots, and gloves that we always carry around with us. As the class got settled the teacher started calling out names, I was too spaced out to pay attention though. Next was Japanese History, we were learning about our city, Osaka. The lessons were pretty boring as usual, it's no fun to learn stuff that you already know. 15 minutes left of class. The bell rings on my phone, oh shoot. Wait, Oh hell no. The alert was for a Wolf beast located at... OUR SCHOOL!!??. "Hey uh, teacher, can I take a quick restroom break?" "Su-" "Thank You!" I shouted halfway out the door. I sprinted to the nearest closet and took out my quick gear, I grabbed some brooms and located the beast, "Great, it's down on the first floor". I jumped down the gap between the stairs landing solidly on my feet, "Biology classroom eh?" That should be pretty close to this side of the school *Crash*, Well well well, seems like I don't have to find it anymore. The beast was standing in front of me, the class looked pretty crushed, and the students all seemed to have gotten away in time. Well, most of them, there were three students in a corner, one of them was a blond, tough-looking one, the same familiar person from before. She seemed to be protecting the two others. The beast looked partially damaged, "Interesting". I gripped the two brooms and tossed the other 2 to the ground beside me, I chucked the right one at it forcing it to move to the left, right after I hit it at full force in the back, the beast immediately crumbled. Wait what? That should not have been so easy, the beast should have taken at least 5 hits to kill. Did I just get that much stronger from doing nothing? Eh well, It must have been a fluke, although I'm pretty sure I felt that feeling before *Light fades away*. The class went back to normal and the three students thanked me for the help, the blond girl looked troubled though, I was curious about who that girl was, she seemed to know her stuff and she didn't back down from an encounter with a beast. That'll be a question for some other time though, for now, I have to get back to class.

The next day, 3:45 PM. It's Physics again, this time I plan on asking that blond girl a question. It would be pretty funny if she happened to be a ranger like me but there's no way, I know all the rangers who live in this area and it lands at a grand total of 3... I have even met both of them before. I never asked for either of their names although I don't use first name bases with anybody but my sister anyway. Welp, today we are marking our classmate's tests, a peer review of sorts. I hope I end up getting one of the smarter kid's tests, that would be pretty nice to mark. Last: Inisha First: Iroha, Oh boy, this one looks baaad. That test ended up getting a 64% mark. Mine ended up getting 93%, which should barely be above average here, I think that it was roughly around 85%.

9:22 PM. The bell rang again, today it is a frog beast, but that shouldn't be too bad. As I was making my way there, I noticed that I might not actually feel very good and maybe this thing might not be an easy fight, frogs just so happen to be very tough beasts, so I might have to improvise through this one. When I arrived, the beast had already leveled 3 houses, the area had been evacuated earlier so nobody should have been hurt, that also meant that I could go all out against this thing, with no humans or structures around to hold me back. There, I saw a big plank of wood sticking out of a small pile of rocks, this one looks promising. I picked it up and quickly bent it 90 degrees in half, "Wam, a boomerang" I chuckled to myself; The laughter was short as the frog snatched away my only cover. Well, here I go. Quickly chucking the boomerang as I sprinted to the next plank of wood, I made another and another and another until I was essentially juggling them in the air, the frog would end up taking one out just for another to take its place, and The frog was getting weaker as time went on, the downside was that I was too. "just a few more, and..." The frog had lost its strength. A shooting pain rang throughout my arm. "there, it's done" as I sat down near the crumbling beast, my arm only getting worse. Just as I was about to get back up, my arm finally completely gave in, the pain from the fracture had finally gotten to me, maybe I shouldn't smack massive rocks that have been building up energy for a while. On my way back home, I really started to feel nauseous, I'm thankful it held off until after the fight, although I seem to be unable to make myself dinner today. One step at a time, I clutched my arm, shooting pain every time I made a movement, a surge of a horrible feeling washed over me *"Hey"*. This voice in my head, why won't it stop? I nearly tripped, the silence was deafening, and I could only really catch a break at home, the presence of another person keeps me sane when I lose composure. If you ask me why I felt this way, I can't tell you. My sister says it was probably due to cleansing of memory (Forced memory loss) but I can't trust anything that the brat says very often, she will always try to mess with me.

Epto-toxins are toxins produced by massive beasts, often they are completely harmless but in rare cases that somebody's immune system is weak, it may make its way into the person. Symptoms can and will include Weak body, Sleepiness, Headaches, and finally, loss of movement (permanently).

Well uh, maybe I shouldn't look stuff up online anymore, although I did find out how to treat myself, I may have to use some temporary methods instead.

Bonus: The ranger rank system is built up as Rank 5 Guard, Rank 4 Great Guard, Rank 3 High Guard (They can work alone and have their own alert system), Rank 2 National Guard (They can take missions across their country, japan) and finally, Rank 1 International Guard (They can take missions across the world). They are also ranked in numbers to how often they get missions, the smaller the number the more often you get a mission. In our case, Tonamiya is Rank 3 (#2), he is the second most requested Ranger in the city of Osaka.

(#1) is a secret however he is a Rank 2 National Guard.

Iroha is Rank 3 (#4) but is likely to become (#3) in no time.
