Cherreads

Chapter 52 - Chapter 52

March 7th didn't hesitate at all—she immediately pulled out 150,000 Star Coins and bought Hou Yi's Bow.

Even though it was a replica, it was still powerful enough: it ignored defenses below the Emanator level, could automatically generate arrows, and even auto-track targets!

It was practically the dream weapon for an archer like March 7th.

She was overjoyed after getting the bow. Now she could show off just like Stelle! If she had Hou Yi's Bow back when fighting Abundant Ebon Deer, the battle probably would've been way easier.

Holding the bow, March 7th was itching to find a monster to try it out on.

Unfortunately—

After the battle at the Arbor of Luofu, most of the forces from the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus had already been wiped out.

Next up was Lumine's turn to shop.

She directly bought a pill called "Unsealing Pill", enough to fully restore all her sealed powers.

Right after receiving it, she grabbed a whole handful and popped them into her mouth, chewing loudly.

In an instant, all of Lumine's sealed power was restored.

Paimon was thrilled to see her recover.

"That's great, Lumine! Your powers are finally back!"

Lumine nodded happily. Finally, she had the strength to get revenge on that woman.

She could barely wait to rush over and give that woman a good beating to vent all her frustration.

But... then she remembered—last time, even with her brother in a 2v1, they had still lost. That instantly made her lose steam.

No! She needed to work harder to earn more Star Coins and strengthen herself. Then she'd have the power to truly take revenge!

Hadn't Stelle done the same?Grinding madly for Star Coins and opening chest after chest, that's how she got so strong.

Enemy appears? No words, just Judgment Of Shamash, Unleashed.

Still not enough? Easy—Annihilation Mode.

Still not enough? Dual-Core Stellaron, activate!

At this point, Stelle's strength was enough to go toe-to-toe with lower-level Emanators.

Lumine reached into her pockets.

Sigh... broke again.

Paimon saw this and comforted her.

"It's okay, Lumine~ We'll just earn more Star Coins! Come on, let's go see what Stelle gets from her pulls!"

Lumine nodded and followed Paimon outside the train.

At that moment—

Out in the open space near the train, a crowd had gathered.

Stelle had just spent 320,000 Star Coins to buy 320 "Trash Can Brand" Scratch Cards.

She laid all of them out on the open ground.

Somehow she'd even found a table and set up a small altar on top, with three sticks of incense burning. She was praying sincerely.

Next to her, a huge speaker was blasting the song "Good Luck is Coming."

Everyone had come to watch the spectacle—curious to see what Stelle would get.

After finishing her incense ritual, Stelle approached the first row of scratch cards.

Each row had ten. Thirty-two rows in total. The scene was truly massive.

Without hesitation, Stelle went for a warm-up 10-pull.

"Come on, give me something good!!"

Ten beams of dazzling light flashed.

And then... 10 cans of surströmming (fermented herring) appeared neatly on the ground.

Stelle gasped sharply.

No way—10 surströmming right out the gate?! What kind of terrible luck was this?!

Nearby, March 7th, Lumine, and Amber all burst out laughing.

"Pfft—hahahaha! Stelle, what kind of garbage luck is this? Ten cans of stinky fish?! HAHAHA!"

"Exactly! Even durians would be better than this!"

Stelle flailed in frustration.

This was absurd! Was her luck going to be garbage for the whole session?

With a grim resolve, Xing made up her mind. Screw it—open them all!

She dashed around the field like lightning, opening one trash can card after another.

She didn't even look at the items—just kept opening nonstop.

Golden light flashed across the field, illuminating the previously dim space.

Then suddenly—Stelle stopped in her tracks.

Wait... something good just came out?!

She turned back and saw one of the trash cans glowing with a brilliant red light.

This was the first time Stelle had ever seen red!

Ye Yun was stunned.

No way... did Stelle actually pull something rare from that junk?

Everyone was drawn by the beam of crimson light.

Ye Yun looked closely—and saw that Stelle was holding a core.

[Item: Weapon Fusion Core]

Description: Can be implanted into a weapon. After implantation, the weapon gains the ability to absorb traits from up to three other weapons.

Note: Maximum absorption level: Immortal-grade weapons.Price: 500,000 Star Coins

Stelle ran up to Ye Yun, cradling the core.

"Ye Yun! Ye Yun! Did I hit the jackpot?!"

Ye Yun nodded.

"You sure did. This is one of the best items you can get from Trash Can Brand scratchers."

Paimon was curious.

"How much is that thing worth?"

Ye Yun held up five fingers.

Paimon guessed, "Five thousand?"

Ye Yun shook his head.

"Fifty thousand?"

Still no.

Paimon's eyes widened in shock.

"No way—500,000?!"

Ye Yun nodded again.

"Yup. This baby is worth 500,000 Star Coins.

Put it this way—if Stelle can find three Immortal-grade weapons and fuse them into Judgment of Shamash...

Even just with Judgment of Shamash, if she goes all-out, she could actually go toe-to-toe with a Emanator-level being."

Why did Ye Yun say Stelle would need to go all-out to do that?

Simple—her body couldn't handle the recoil from a weapon fused with three Immortal-grade weapons.

We're talking Immortal-grade weapons here!

The entire crowd was stunned by Ye Yun's words.

What?! That item was that strong?!

March 7th stared at the Weapon Fusion Core in Stelle's hand in disbelief.

"Stelle, you're totally cracked now."

Amber agreed.

"Yeah, those Emanator-level beings are insanely powerful!"

Just then—

Himeko chimed in.

"It is powerful, but there's a catch. Like Ye Yun just said, Stelle needs to find three Immortal-grade weapons first.

An item this powerful won't come cheap."

Ye Yun nodded.

"Exactly. Immortal-grade weapons are incredibly rare—only high-level worlds even have them.

I do have some in stock though—the cheapest starts at 1 million Star Coins."

After hearing that, the others finally felt a bit better.

To achieve the potential Ye Yun described, Stelle would need to spend at least 3 million Star Coins.

And 3 million Star Coins was not easy to earn.

Just earlier, they'd heard from Jade and Topaz that many treasure chests in this world had mysteriously vanished.

Even with the full power of the Interastral Peace Corporation, they'd only managed to collect 300,000, and it was getting harder and harder to find more.

Ye Yun glanced at Stelle, who was looking mighty smug with her prize.

"Alright, Stelle, you'd better stash that for now. You've still got half your scratchers left to open."

Stelle cheerfully tucked the Weapon Fusion Core into her storage ring and went back to scratching.

Klee, watching nearby, tugged on Ye Yun's sleeve.

"Big bro Ye Yun~ Klee wants to open trash cans too~"

***

When Ye Yun heard that Klee also wanted to play, he bought 10 "Trash Can" scratch cards for the four little ones.

"Here, go have fun."

The four little ones gathered around their 10 scratch cards, chirping excitedly about what they hoped to get.

Over on Stelle's side:

After that god-tier lucky pull earlier, everything Stelle got afterward was very ordinary.

Things like resource cards, computers, some furniture, and various miscellaneous items.

You could say they had some value, but… Stelle couldn't use them.

Seeing this, Hu Tao spent 1,000 star coins to buy a computer voucher card from Stelle.

This voucher could redeem 1,000 computers.

The specs of this batch of computers were much better than the ones Silver Wolf had sold her before.

Hu Tao planned to find Ningguang to rent a place and expand the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Internet Café.

After about half an hour, everyone helped Stelle sort through the prizes.

Himeko looked at the mountain of canned herring piled beside them and couldn't help but tease:

"Stelle, looks like that fusion core pulled all your luck out~"

Stelle, who was eating durian, looked up and spread her hands helplessly.

"I didn't want this either~"

She glanced at the mountain of canned herring and, after thinking a bit, decided to store it.

That stuff could still come in handy in certain situations… right, Your Highness?

Kong: speechless.

Everyone helped sort through Stelle's loot while also checking if there was anything they could use, offering star coins to buy stuff from Stelle.

Stelle, of course, welcomed this. At least she could get some of her money back.

Right now she was broke—every star coin she had was spent on those scratch cards.

And, to be fair, there really were some fun little things in there that interested everyone.

Once the place was tidied up, they helped the four little ones arrange their scratch cards in an open space.

Klee and Hook got three each; Diona and Bailu got two each.

This was Bailu's distribution method. In her words:

"Miss Diona and I are older than you two, so we'll take a loss and only get two."

The four little ones stood next to their trash cans, and everyone watching smiled knowingly.

These little ones were the joy of the group, always bringing laughter.

March 7th, Hu Tao, and the others even cheered them on, wishing they'd get what they hoped for.

Ye Yun rubbed Klee's little head.

"Klee, you go first."

Klee nodded happily, stood on tiptoe, and forcefully opened the trash can lid.

As the lid lifted, a flash of golden light appeared, leaving behind a blueprint.

The blueprint detailed a bomb design.

Klee was thrilled and immediately grabbed it, about to run off—totally forgetting she still had two more to open.

Ye Yun picked her up and tapped her little nose.

"Klee, there are still two more. Open them first, then study the bomb, okay?"

Klee blinked, remembering.

"Klee forgot! I'll open them now!"

Probably eager to study the bomb, Klee opened the last two scratch cards at once.

Suddenly—two red beams shot into the sky.

Everyone was stunned.

March 7th pinched her arm hard.

"Ow, ow, ow—wait! Is this luck even legal?!"

Hu Tao gulped.

"I don't think so. Stelle opened so many and only got one…"

Stelle looked at the two red beams and suddenly burst into wild laughter.

"Hahahahaha! I knew it—I really am cursed! Hahahaha!"

Amber looked at Stelle, who was on the verge of losing it, and tried to comfort her.

"Stelle, your luck is really good… it's just that Klee's is better. After all, her constellation is the lucky four-leaf clover."

Stelle heard this and felt a bit better.

Ah, so it's not that I'm unlucky… it's just that Klee is ridiculously lucky.

The red beams faded, revealing a book and a small kitten.

Ye Yun checked the prize info:

Item: Magic Grimoire. Description: Contains all the magic from a high-tier magical world, including many forbidden spells and divine arts. Price: 490,000 star coins

Item: Magical Kitten. Description: A magical cat from a game world that helps its owner learn magic. Significantly boosts magic learning speed. Price: 490,000 star coins

Ye Yun didn't know what to say after reading that. That level of luck? What's left to say?

Only one thing: Klee, of course.

Suddenly, a digital voice echoed in Ye Yun's mind:

[Notice! System update in real-time! Update details as follows: Klee is now banned from using any items obtained through luck-based rewards!!!]

Ye Yun clicked his tongue.

Tsk tsk… Klee's luck was so insane, the system blacklisted her.

Especially those three exclamation marks at the end—ouch.

The magical kitten jumped onto the Magic Compendium and lay down on it.

A glow shimmered across the surface of the compendium, lifting both the book and the kitten into the air.

The kitten, balancing on the book, flew to Klee's side, meowing and rubbing its head against her.

Lumine asked Ye Yun curiously:

"Ye Yun, how are those two items?"

Ye Yun replied:

"How are they? You're really asking that? Red beams don't lie.Let me put it this way: together, those two are worth 980,000 star coins. At this rate, Klee could be at her mom's level in just a month."

When Lumine heard 980,000, she involuntarily took a few steps back and gasped.

"What?! 980,000 star coins?!"

Everyone else was stunned by the number too.

That amount… was beyond imagination.

You could say that since Ye Yun arrived, everyone's total combined star coin gain didn't even reach that number.

But Klee? She only spent 3,000.

Wait—no. The scratch cards were a gift from Ye Yun.

Thinking of that…

Stelle suddenly started to wonder—did Ye Yun choose these cards for Klee?

After all, the scratch cards came from him.

Ye Yun noticed Stelle's suspicious look and said, exasperated:

"Don't give me that look. I can't control these things—I just sell them. I have no idea what's inside.

If I did, would I sell them? I'd use them myself!"

Stelle thought about it and nodded. True.

The magical kitten rubbed against Klee again, and suddenly, Klee's mind filled with foreign knowledge. A strange power flowed through her.

"Heavenly Fire Descent?"

Klee murmured, stretching out her little hand and shouting at the sky.

The next second—

The sky changed color, and a swarm of meteors suddenly rained down.

Welt and Ye Yun quickly acted to gather up the meteors—otherwise, the entire Herta Space Station might've been leveled.
