Cherreads

Chapter 6 - 6

These few soft words were like a refreshing breeze in this scorching summer.

I hung up the phone, and the emotions that had been irritable all morning returned to calmness.

This was a tough battle, and I couldn't lose to my mindset before the battle began. Taking a deep breath, I deleted the relevant phone records, and replaced all the white pills in the medicine bottle with vitamin pills.

Seeing that Jennifer Miller hadn't returned to the community yet, I used my phone to record every part of the house.

Especially their wedding photos and intimate photos, I took photos of them and uploaded them to the cloud drive, then deleted the phone records.

After doing all this, I looked at the community through the floor-to-ceiling window again.

This look, the scene that came into view was Michael Smith driving the car and sending Jennifer Miller back.

The sun was scorching, and it was a workday, and there weren't many people in the community.

Jennifer Miller, carrying the buns, jumped out of the passenger seat with a smile on her face.

She waved the buns in her hand at him, as if reluctant, she ran back, and kissed Michael Smith on the face through the car window.

A picture of a sweet couple.

So open and honest that it was dazzling.

Clenching my fists, I sneered.

I glanced at the clock on the wall, it was indeed almost an hour earlier than when she went to buy it herself.

And Michael Smith, in order to make things easier for her, could even ignore work and cut class to buy buns for her. Such a loving couple.

But if so, why did Michael Smith marry me in the first place?

As far as I know, Michael Smith and her knew each other before me.

Looking at these absurd furnishings in the house again, I thought slightly, and the unease in my heart grew stronger.

In the evening, Michael Smith went off work as usual, early.

In the past, I couldn't see, and I always felt that he came back so early because he was thinking about me at home.

Now, seeing him embrace and kiss Jennifer Miller as soon as he entered the door, and giving her the little surprises he bought for her on purpose, I realized how ridiculous I was.

At this moment, I sat on the sofa, just like a ghost floating in this house.

So redundant, and so ignored.

But this is clearly the house I bought, my home.

Watching Michael Smith walk towards me, holding the small odds and ends Jennifer Miller had chosen, and trying to coax me as he had after work before, telling me that this was a little gift he bought for me especially, I held back the impulse to sneer at him and got up before him.

At this point, I couldn't wait to know the results of the things I asked David Wilson to investigate.

This so-called husband, I felt disgusted with every extra second of being with him. But I had to deal with him.

Pretending to be irritable because of my eyes, I first lost my temper with Michael Smith.

Smashing the "gifts" he gave me on the ground, I slapped his face a few times.

It wasn't until he couldn't bear it anymore, slammed the door and left, and Jennifer Miller also used the excuse of helping me to see and chased out of the house, that I calmed down and entered the bathroom, locking the door.

Turning the water to the maximum, I took out my phone and quickly called David Wilson.

He seemed to have been waiting there, and he picked up the phone as soon as I dialed.

I took a deep breath and asked him somewhat nervously, "President Jiang, do you have the results?"

He first hummed.

And then fell into silence.

It lasted for about ten seconds, until my heart was anxious to the point of stopping, he finally spoke.

He told me a result that I could not have imagined at all.
