"I don't 't know why you act so weird when Hafiz is around us." Maybe I shouldn't have said that, because his eyes darkened instantly, shifting the entire atmosphere.
We were still outside, just a few steps away from my home's gate, but instead of going inside, he turned back and faced me.
"I don't act weird," he said.
Oh my God, his voice was so cold-hell would have frozen today.
"Moreover, even if I did, it wouldn't be when he's around us."
Damn it. Why was it suddenly so cold out here? It felt like we were standing inside a refrigerator, talking nonsense. Not nonsense, though-it was actually quite interesting how Ahad transformed into an overprotective beast whenever Hafiz was involved.
He took a step toward me. Instinctively, I stepped back.
Again.
And again.
Until my back hit the red brick wall behind me, its rough surface pressing into me, making my situation even worse.
He placed one forearm beside my head and his other hand a few inches away from my waist, blocking my way.
"I act like that, when he's around YOU."
Another degree dropped.
I was done with this situation, but when I opened my mouth, I silently thanked my Lord that my voice didn't tremble like my poor heart.
"May I remind you, we are still outside, Mr. Shah?"
My voice came naturally-just with a little heat in it. Thank God for small mercies.
Instead of trying to understand our surroundings he demanded "Ask me if I care". He leaned another inch closer.
God what is wrong with him? We are freaking outside.Not making a love story out here

Ahad's face was unreadable-so cold that I couldn't tell if my words had angered him. But then, for just a second, a flicker of frustration passed through his eyes.
He took a deep breath.
"I don't give a damn about the line, Iman. Why don't you understand?"
His voice was laced with irritation.
I frowned. "Understand what?"
"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath before grabbing my wrist.
"I'll explain inside."
And just like that, he pulled me with him with such a force that my wrist must have cursed me with such pain.
