Chapter 10 - 10

THIRD POV

A FEW MINUTES AGO...

Camilla walked towards Mimi with a plate of pancakes in her hands while the conversation at the table was going on.

"Don't worry, soon we will be on our way to your place to search for a clue like I promised," Mario said, smiling at Evelyn, making Camilla's eyes move to them.

She clenched the spoon in her hand but managed to comport herself as she served Mimi more pancakes.

"Thank you," Mimi mouthed to her.

She nodded and moved to Carlos.

"I am sorry to interrupt, but we are going for the warehouse operation, remember?" Carlos asked Mario as Camilla served him more pancakes.

"I totally forgot about that. I promised to take Evelyn to her place to search for clues and then take her shopping afterward," Mario said, smiling at Evelyn.

Camilla stared at them with rage but masked it by stopping herself from adding more pancakes to Carlos' plate.

She walked around the table while they went on talking, not wanting to be there anymore or serve the others, because it would add to her anger seeing Mario showing affection to that annoying-looking stranger.

She headed into the kitchen while clenching the plate in her hands. Entering the kitchen, another maid walked past her, heading out, and she walked towards the Island where her best friend and fellow maid, Lilliana, was and busy chopping some vegetables.

Two other maids are busy with other things close to the counter.

Camilla placed the plate on the island angrily, claiming Lilliana's attention.

"Fucking bitch," Camilla muttered under her breath, pacing a little and fuming in a frustrated rage.

Lilliana furrowed her brows slightly at her.

"What's up with you?" Lilliana asked, looking between her friend and the vegetables she was chopping.

"You look like someone just stole your candy," Lilliana said, chuckling.

"Yes. Someone stole my candy. That filthy stranger is stealing Mario from me." Camilla blurted.

"Shh," Lilliana shushed, looking behind her. The two maids took a sneaky peek at them but faced their work.

"Camilla, what is wrong with you?" Lilliana whispered.

Camilla rolled her eyes, folding her hands.

"Will you stop misbehaving for once? You are beginning to sound like an obsessed witch."

Camilla scoffed. "Oh, please. Call me whatever, I don't care. I am fucking pissed right now. You should see the way he was...."

"Camilla," Lilliana whispered, moving her eyes to remind Camilla about the two maids behind them.

Camilla heaved an angry sigh as she looked at the maids.

"Both of you, out," she ordered.

Lillian gave her a look.

The maids didn't move.

"Are you both deaf?" Camilla asked.

The maids looked at her.

"Get the hell out," Camilla ordered.

Lilliana heaved a sigh.

"But.... Paloma ordered us to....

"I said, Get. The. Fuck. Out," Camilla snarled.

The maids washed their hands and walked out of the kitchen.

"Filthy things," Camilla muttered.

"That was nice. Now, why don't you go and continue what they were doing?" Lilliana quipped.

"Please, Lily, don't add to my anger right now. I beg you." Camilla said without looking at Lilly as she placed her hands on her hips, still pissed.

Lily shook her head in disbelief and faced what she was doing.

"You need to see the way he was smiling at her. He likes her, Lily. I saw it with my own eyes. He likes that fucking bitch. What is wrong with him, huh? She is not even as beautiful as his other girlfriends. She looks like a devil." Camilla said, letting out a hard breath.

"Every girl you see around Mario looks like a devil to you. I am even sure I would look like a devil to you as well if I was around him." Lily quipped.

Camilla made a face like she was going to cry as she paced slightly.

"You need help, Camilla. You have a problem."

"My problem is Mario. He wouldn't look at me. He has never looked at me. All he sees me as is just a maid."

"That is what you are, Cam. A maid. That is what we are. A common maid. Stop letting that skip your mind." Lily said.

"No. I am not just a maid to him. I am the love of his life. His wife-to-be."

"Oh " Lily said.

"I love him, Lily. Can't you see that?"

"All I see is obsession, bestie." Lilly said, making Camilla let out a sigh as she walked towards the counter.

"Seriously, Cam, you really have to...."

"Lilly," Lucas interrupted, walking into the kitchen with an empty glass in his hand.

Lilliana's heart picked up as she looked at him with a nervous smile.

"Lucas, hey," she said, feeling her heart race as she took in his charming blue eyes.

He gave her a smile. "Good morning,"

She chuckled nervously, scratching her temples a bit. "Good morning,"

"You look pretty this morning," Carlos said.

Lily's cheeks heated up. "Really? Thank you. I uh....i didn't know that," she said shyly.

Camilla rolled her eyes.

"Well, you are. Can you please fill this with water for me?" He asked.

"Sure," she said, taking the glass from him, but felt his fingers as well. It sent shivers down her spine, but she managed to comport herself as she walked towards the fridge. She opened it and took out a jug of water and filled up the cup. She put back the jug and closed the fridge.

She was about to walk back to Lucas when Mimi walked into the kitchen with an empty glass as well.

Lilliana's smile fell as Lucas looked at Mimi.

A nervous smile formed on Mimi's lips.

"Lucas," she said.

"Ma'am," he said formally.

"You came to get water," she said, almost sounding like a question.

Lucas nodded. "Yes."

Camilla scoffed internally while watching the three.

Of course, he came to get water. Are you blind? Camilla asked internally.

"Here is your water," Lily chipped in, handing over the glass to Lucas, who collected it and gave her a nod.

"I guess you came for the same thing as well," Lucas said to Mimi, making Lillian's heart tighten slightly.

"Yeah, I did." Mimi answered.

"Here," he said, handing over his water to her.

Lily furrowed her brows

Mimi felt her heart melting as she collected the water.

"Thank you," she said, smiling at him.

"It's okay," he said.

"But I thought...." Lily paused, making them look at her.

"I thought you wanted some water," she said, looking at Lucas.

"It's okay. Just help me get another, please." Lucas said, taking the empty glass from Mimi and handed it to Lily, who took it reluctantly, her heart clenching as she walked back to the fridge.

"Excuse me," Mimi said, walking away.

Camilla scoffed under her breath as Lily walked back to Lucas with a filled glass of water.

"Thank you," Lucas said.

Lily nodded slightly while looking at him.

"Today is going to be a very busy day. Wish me luck." He said, walking away.

"Good.....luck." she let out a sigh and dropped her gaze, feeling unhappy.

Camilla walked closer to her and leaned closer to her ear.

"Looks like I am not the only one whose candy was stolen from."

Lily rolled her eyes as she picked up the bowels of vegetables and walked past Camilla and headed towards the counter.

Camilla turned to her, watching as she put on the taps and began washing the vegetables.

"I can tell you are hurt, bestie," Camilla said.

Lily didn't respond but continued what she was doing.

"I say we work together and get those two obstacles away from our men," Camilla said.

"Quit saying nonsense and get back to work." Lily said, trying hard to hold back her tears.

"I am damn serious, Lily. Let's get rid of both of them."

Lily froze and looked at Camilla.

Camilla raised her brows at her.

IN ADRIAN'S ROOM

"Candy,"

"Get the hell out, Dolores!" Candela yelled, glaring at her.

Dolores walked closer to her. "Calm down, okay?"

Candela scoffed, flipping her hair as she paced the room, fuming in anger.

"He is just a child. You know how he is when he is upset."

Candela scoffed again, walking towards the windows.

"Especially when you....when you provoke him." Dolores added.

Candela turned to her. "Can you listen to yourself?"

Dolores stared at her.

"Provoke him? How is telling him to take that thing he brought out of our home a provocation?"

"The poor girl has no one else. Where do you expect her to go?" Dolores asked.

"I don't bloody care, Dolores. She has to leave my house."

Dolores heaved a sigh.

"She is already causing problems between my son and I. He has never called me aunt Candela. He has never reminded me of the fact that I am not his real mother." Candela almost cried.

"Candy...."

"I literally raised him. His mother just birthed him and passed away. I have been nothing but a good mother to him. I gave him everything he wanted, and one stupid tramp came out of nowhere and made him throw all that away. Can you fucking believe that?" Candela asked, tears rolling down her eyes.

Touched by Candela's pain, Dolores walked towards her with emotions on her face.

"Listen, don't be like this. You are still his mother." Dolores said, holding Candela's hand.

"No, I doubt that," Candela said, walking past Dolores.

"He doesn't see me as his mother. He only sees me as his aunt. I have to face the cruel reality." Candela said, sniffling as she placed her hand on her hip.

"You are his mother. You share the same blood with his real mother and raised him to the fine young man he is right now. You are the only one he knows. The only closest thing to a mother."

Candela folded her arms as her heart clenched tightly, recalling how Mario called her by her name.

It is that tramp's fault. She said internally.

"Just calm down and...."

"You know what?" Candela retorted, turning to Dolores as she wiped her tears.

Dolores stared at her.

"You are right. I raised him. He wouldn't be who he is today if it wasn't for me."

Dolores nodded.

"All our late sister did was birth him. I raised him. I am his mother."

"Of course you are," Dolores supported.

"I am not going to let some unfortunate tramp come in between us. I am getting rid of her right away."

Dolores' face twitched. "What?"

"She is leaving my house today," Candela insisted.

"Candy, you...."

"Zip it. That tramp is leaving my house today and there is nothing Mario can do about it. I am his mother, and he has to do as I say."

Dolores heaved a sigh.

The horn sound of a car took their attention towards the windows.

Candela walked towards the window and Dolores followed her behind.

Candela's face twitched the minute she saw Mario opening the passenger's seat of Adrian's truck for Evelyn and Adrian was walking towards the driver's seat.

"The hell?" Candela asked.

Dolores furrowed her brows as she stared at them too.

"Where are they going? And with Adrian?" Dolores asked.

Candela's clenched her knuckles.
