Chapter 30 - Chapter 29 – Assassin in the Snow

[Academy – Midnight]

A snowstorm blanketed the campus.

Most students were asleep.

But something unnatural stirred in the blizzard—footsteps without sound, shadows that moved without wind.

Justine had arrived.

Cloaked in silver robes and masked by divine aura, she moved through the snow like a wraith.

> [Disguise Active – Divine Cloak: Class A Artifact]

[Target: Winter Arclight]

Her orders were clear.

Eliminate the spark before it becomes a fire.

---

[Lohan – Library, Hidden Chamber]

The system whispered in his mind.

> [You have detected a divine trace nearby.]

He froze.

"She's here…"

He rushed out, cloak flying behind him, fingers twitching to draw a spell circle mid-air.

If Justine moved now—Winter would die.

---

[Winter – Meditation Hall]

Winter sat beneath a frozen waterfall, regaining her strength.

The frost around her pulsed to the rhythm of her breathing.

But her eyes snapped open.

She felt it.

A presence. Cold—not like snow, but like betrayal.

She summoned her staff.

"Who's there?"

Snow fell harder.

Then Justine stepped from the white, silent and regal, her eyes hidden behind a veil.

"I don't want to kill you," Justine said softly. "But I will."

Winter's grip tightened. "Then come try."

---

[Battle – Snow vs. Flame]

Justine moved like lightning—divine chains lashing through the air, trying to bind Winter's limbs.

Winter countered with pillars of frost, spiraling into jagged spears.

Magic and god-force clashed in a storm of white and gold.

[Justine's Divine Link Surging: Hostility Confirmed]

The battle shook the eastern cliffside.

---

[Lohan – Intervening]

He arrived at the last second—slamming a copied wind-step spell into the cliff.

Justine turned in shock.

"Hajun?!"

Lohan's eyes glowed. "Hello again… traitor."

Justine froze. "It's not like that—!"

"No more lies."

He activated a spell he'd never used in this life before:

> [Copied Skill – Heavenbreaker Sigil: Incomplete]

A massive symbol appeared in the air—resembling an eye pierced by a sword.

Even Justine recoiled.

She knew that spell.

Only one man had ever created it.

"You really are him…"

---

[End Scene – Aftermath]

The battle ended in a standoff.

Justine vanished into the snow.

Winter slumped against Lohan, exhausted but alive.

"You… saved me."

"Don't get used to it," he said—but his hands trembled from rage and regret.
