The air around the black sphere spun faster and faster, all pulling inward. The moment Hatake Satoru spoke, the sphere shot forward.
That speed.
That power.
There was no way to dodge it.
"Damn it! When did you get down there?!"
Danzo gritted his teeth. He hadn't expected the guy to be under him.
Just a second ago, all of Hatake's movements were going upward.
The energy blast shot straight through Danzo in an instant and blasted toward the ceiling, scraping past the wall.
Where it passed, the wall was left with a deep, almost half-meter gouge.
This energy blast didn't spread out—it pierced straight through anything in its path.
A blinding white flash lit up the space. Hatake Satoru held his fingers in the firing position, and the eyes behind his mask narrowed just slightly.
"Wow, I didn't think I'd hit you on the first try."
Hatake Satoru's tone was light and cheeky, like he was acting all innocent after getting the upper hand.
In the middle of a space full of corpses and destruction, his voice felt especially strange.
Not bad at all, he thought, glancing at the cracks left on the wall.
The blast.
It took a while to charge up, but if Danzo hadn't relied on his usual instincts, he definitely would've noticed Hatake standing below him.
Whether he could've pulled off the blast at all is another story though.
"Don't try to read me using your usual tricks!"
"I'm not even a ninja!"
Hatake Satoru jumped lightly onto a broken stone nearby, now standing at the same level as Danzo.
Danzo suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.
He clearly tried his best to avoid that attack.
But he could only move fast enough to avoid getting completely pierced through by the attack.
Half of his body was blown away, leaving a massive, gaping wound on the side of his torso.
No normal person could survive a hit like that.
*Ding~*
Suddenly, an unexpected system notification popped into Hatake Satoru's mind.
Huh?
A system message now?
Was it because he killed Danzo?
Hatake Satoru glanced at Danzo suspiciously. The man's body was still bleeding from the huge hole blasted through it.
He clearly didn't have any fight left in him.
[Congratulations, host! Your role-playing level has increased to 35%.]
[New skill unlocked: Reversed Cursed Technique]
[Cursed energy is negative. It can strengthen the body but can't heal it. If you stack it and multiply it, negative times negative becomes positive, and that can heal.]
Ah, this was the skill he got a trial use of when he arrived!
Hatake Satoru quickly realized what it meant. Even though "Reversed Cursed Technique" sounded complicated, it basically just meant using cursed energy to heal himself.
It was a self-healing ability—it didn't work on others.
But at the core of it, it was probably because people here used chakra, not cursed energy.
Hatake Satoru stood still, thinking deeply as he studied how the skill worked.
As for Danzo, who was still bleeding heavily in front of him, Satoru didn't pay him much attention.
This old man was a schemer, always playing dirty politics and attacking his own people behind the scenes in the village.
But in a real fight, he was weak. No wonder Sasuke crushed him, even with all those Sharingan in one arm.
All those precious Uchiha eyes wasted on a guy like him.
Danzo had targeted Kakashi's eye before, planning to replace it.
And now he'd taken Shisui's eye.
The only reason Hatake Satoru was even here was to get Shisui's eye back.
Suddenly, Satoru froze, snapping out of his thoughts. Wait a second—this guy still has *one more eye*!
Just as Satoru's eyes darted toward where Danzo had been standing, the man was already gone.
Body Flicker.
A cold, withered hand suddenly grabbed Satoru by the throat.
A creepy laugh came from behind him, low and raspy from Danzo's half-bandaged face as he leaned in close.
"You don't have much real combat experience, do you? Never let your guard down before you're sure the enemy is dead."
In the blink of an eye, Danzo felt the person in his grip vanish.
It wasn't that Satoru broke free or ran away—he just disappeared and reappeared a short distance away.
Satoru pressed his lips together in disgust and wiped his neck where Danzo's hand had touched him.
The Sharingan in Danzo's palm spun briefly before his eyelids drooped and shut.
It had finished its job.
Satoru's tightly pressed lips curled into a faint smile.
No matter what, Danzo was down one eye now.
The old man hadn't even looted more from the Uchiha yet—he only had two eyes on him.
"For someone who's not a ninja, you've done pretty well. I can't take you lightly."
"No chakra, no ninjutsu… What exactly *is* that strange power you're using?"
Danzo narrowed his eyes as Satoru moved to strike again.
His hands quickly formed a series of hand signs, and before Hatake Satoru could move again, he shouted in a low voice:
"Curse Binding Seal!"
Curse marks of all kinds spread rapidly over Hatake Satoru's neck and wrists, even crawling up to his pale face.
His feet seemed to root into the ground, stuck firmly in place. He couldn't move at all.
"It's a cursed technique~ Just thought I'd let you know now."
"No one else knows about it but you~"
Even though he couldn't move, Hatake Satoru still sounded as calm and relaxed as ever.
Danzo couldn't help but feel a chill inside.
Even after being trapped and having his best movement sealed…
He could still talk so casually!?
"You're interesting, I'll give you that. Honestly, you'd be best used for research."
"But it's even better to study your corpse!"
After this short exchange, Danzo became even more certain this strange man was a serious threat.
A man this strong—close to Kage level—but completely unknown in the village?
No matter what his reason for staying hidden was, he had to be eliminated.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Great Sphere!"
This guy was using some kind of strange cursed technique to fight. There was no telling how long the binding seal would actually hold him.
If he started teleporting again, the whole fight could turn around in an instant.
Danzo took a quick step back, jumped up, and formed hand signs mid-air. Then he spat out a series of high-pressure wind spheres.
The spinning wind balls, filled with sharp blades, shot straight at the frozen Hatake Satoru.
Satoru raised his head slightly—just as one of the blades tore through his clothes. Warm blood burst out.
Direct hit!
