Chapter 54 - Law’s Understanding in Voidreign

The silver moon hung quietly above the skies of the Voidreign Kingdom, casting its pale light across towers of obsidian stone and shimmering, sapphire foliage. Law stood silently by the window of his luxurious hotel suite—its walls carved from Voidsteel and laced with gentle streams of flowing light. He watched the city breathe, a land seemingly beyond imagination.

Behind him, Bepo slept soundly, curled under a thick blanket. The warm colors of the room, infused with a soft celestial glow, contrasted deeply with the harsh memories that haunted Law's mind.

"Overused my Devil Fruit... too much during the battle with Blackbeard," he muttered, rubbing his temple. "My mental focus was shredded. We should've died back there…"

But they didn't.

Because of Vash, Meruem, and now, this... Voidreign Kingdom.

Law stepped out of the hotel and into the grand streets of Void District, a cultural sector said to have been designed by Kaelor himself under Jessie's order. Marble paths shimmered underfoot. Floating light orbs drifted lazily in the air. Musicians, artists, and common folk bustled about—yet it was all too strange for Law.

"This place… it's not like any kingdom I've seen," he whispered.

As he wandered, something caught his ear—music, delicate and ethereal, drifting from the town square.

He followed the melody, winding past rose-covered arches and crystal lampposts until he came upon a grand stage, floating slightly above the ground. A crowd gathered, entranced, swaying to the rhythm.

And standing in the center, in a radiant dress of light and wind—

—was Uta.

Law's eyes widened, pupils narrowing in disbelief.

"Uta…?!"

The memory hit him like a cannon. Back on Elegia, the Straw Hats fought to survive against her dreamworld. Her power wasn't just illusion—it bent reality. At the time, Law had dismissed her as an anomaly. But now, witnessing her again—seeing her alive and real—he felt a chill run through his spine.

"Back then… I barely escaped…"

In the Emperor Strength Hierarchy, there were distinct levels:

Low Emperor Strength

Mid Emperor Strength

High Emperor Strength

And at the pinnacle... Top Emperor Strength

Shanks belonged at the top. His Conqueror's Haki alone could turn tides.

And Uta? Her voice had the same terrifying presence. Her aura was no illusion. She was, without question, top emperor level.

As her final note faded, the crowd applauded thunderously. But Uta's eyes were already on someone in the distance.

She smiled.

And in a flash, she vanished from the stage—teleporting instantly to Law's side.

"Yow! you already awake~!" she said brightly.

Law, tense, instinctively placed a hand on his sword. "What do you want?"

Uta tilted her head, pretending to think. "Hmm... Have we met before?"

Law's expression soured. "Elegia."

She blinked, then giggled. "Ahh! You're the one who kept running away!"

"Damn brat…" Law thought, eye twitching. "She's mocking me."

He stepped back slightly. "Why are you here? In Voidreign Kingdom? And what is this place? First time I've even heard of it."

Uta blinked again, surprised. "Ohhh? You didn't read the news?"

She took a small breath—and sang a note. A single, soft melody.

With that note, a newspaper fluttered down from the sky, landing in Law's hand. He stared at it. The Voidreign sigil glowed faintly on the front page.

Uta waved. "You're welcome. Good luck catching up." Then, with a flutter of music, she flew toward the sky, heading straight for the floating Celestial Garden Castle.

Law's eyes followed her ascent—and finally saw the structure properly: a massive island, floating high above the Ocean Azure Tree, glowing in an eternal light like the Tree of Eve itself.

And guarding its perimeter...

Black-armored knights. Towering, silent, powerful. Their weapons crackled with spiritual energy.

"Void Knights," whispered a civilian beside him. "Every one of them… Vice Admiral level."

Law stood frozen.

"This kingdom... isn't just powerful. It's god-tier."

He walked back slowly to his hotel, mind spinning. Back in his suite, with Bepo still snoring lightly, Law sat in a chair and unfolded the newspaper Uta gave him.

His eyes scanned the headlines:

THE NEW AGE BEGINS — THE RISE OF VOIDREIGN PIRATES

"Battle of Amazon Lily — 3 Admirals Defeated"

In a shocking turn, the three admirals deployed by the World Government were utterly defeated during the siege of Amazon Lily.

Captain Jessie, known as the "Void King," stood at the helm as Kuina defeated Admiral Fujitora. Admiral Kizaru was taken down by Vash. Admiral Ryokugyu was beaten like a dog by BlackEye Panda. Their overwhelming strength forced the admirals to retreat—and even drove Blackbeard away, shaken by Jessie's Conqueror's Haki. The mighty Buster Call, once the pride of the Marines, had been utterly crushed.

"The sky turned black. We felt something worse than death," a marine survivor said.

"Saboady Incident – Meruem's Wrath"

Reports confirm that Admiral Kizaru, CP0, God Knights, and two Celestial Dragons were completely wiped out in Saboady.

The perpetrator? Meruem, the "Demon King" of Voidreign Pirates.

"The God Battle – Lulusia No More"

Formerly known as Lulusia Kingdom, the now renamed Voidreign Kingdom stood defiant as the sky itself fell.

A mysterious god weapon descended from the sky—only to be deflected by Jessie in full power.

Witnesses describe the sky "splitting open" and "the world trembling."

Law's hands trembled slightly as he turned to the latest bounty page.

Law closed the paper.

"I've been sleeping… and the world has changed so much."

The room was silent, save for Bepo's soft snores.

"This isn't just a crew," Law whispered. "It's… a new empire."

He looked back out the window, up toward the Celestial Garden Castle.

"Jessie… Void King… Just who are you?"
