Sustenance Card:
A Sustenance Card is isused to everyone at birth, it serves as a means of recognition and Nationality and mainly used during issues such as travelling, job employment, banking, house and land deeds, education, business and health care.
An Omega's Sustenance Card is usually handed to their legal guardian, mostly their father or an older Alpha or Beta in the family at birth.
Who Is A Legal Guardian?
A legal guardian is usually an Alpha and in rare cases a Beta who holds an Omega's Sustenance Card and serves as their guardian. Most of the time guardianship rights are transferred from family members to spouse after the Omega gets married.
Many Omega rights activists have spoken about the barbarity of the Guardian rights— this was no longer the stone age, Omega's should have the right to live their lives.
A Sustenance Card was needed for anything, and before an Omega could make any decision such as getting a job, traveling, seeking education, opening an account, renting a house, getting married and even access to certain medications such as heat suppressants and birth control they had to provide their Sustenance Card and a form signed by their legal guardian. In rare cases an Omega was asked to bring their legal guardian before they could perform certain actions.
In the constitution, under certain circumstances— very vague— when an Omega was unable to make decisions due to physical, mental or emotional challenges their legal guardian had the authority to make decisions for them.
Most often than not most legal guardians were abusive to the Omegas, so how was one supposed to run or file a complaint when the person whose authority you needed to do these things was the one abusing you?
