Chapter 46 - Chapter 046: You guys are the best class I’ve ever had!

Ryuen's class was full of tough guys, flashy girls, and delinquents.

Last month, even though Ryuen ruled with an iron fist,

At this age, even if their actions are controlled, their mouths aren't.

"Idiots. Starting this month, there's no more behavior exam," Ryuen said. "So who'd still want to act like some goody two-shoes? A model student? Ha."

"Well then—" The guy who was just acting all tough seemed to be thinking something over.

Last month, Ryuen had threatened them—if they didn't follow the rules, they wouldn't get any living expenses next month.

But now, if they went against Ryuen, maybe it wouldn't hurt the class's points. And maybe it wouldn't cut into their money either.

So the idea started to tempt him.

After a whole month of being forced into submission, he wasn't the only one fed up with Ryuen. Maybe others would back him up.

But Ryuen didn't hesitate—he slapped the guy across the face with a loud smack.

"So you think you're up for it?"

"Albert, string him up," Ryuen said.

"Yes, boss!"

The tall, dark-skinned Albert quickly grabbed the guy like he was picking up a toy.

Now the students in Class C started looking at Ryuen_Kakeru with fear in their eyes.

Because Ryuen… was seriously scary.

If last month they were forced to act like good kids, now that they didn't have to, Ryuen was even scarier than before.

The whole class went silent—angry, but too afraid to speak up.

"Ryuen is still as scary as ever," said Shiina, who was sitting in front. She turned around to talk.

She saw Shirogane looking at his phone.

"But getting grades like this isn't bad at all," she said. Shiina seemed to be in a good mood.

Because—

Their grades this time were actually pretty good.

On Shirogane's phone, there was a message showing the money had come in.

[Your personal account received 73,500 private points. Sender: XF01100. Balance: 99,999 points.]

According to the exam rules passed down by upperclassmen, the monthly living allowance is based on the class points, calculated as class points × 100.

The higher the class points, the more living allowance each student gets.

Which means C-Class's remaining class points this time is 735.

This is probably something that's never happened before in the history of C-Class.

Also—

Homeroom teacher Sakagami-sensei walked in looking very cheerful.

"There are a few minutes before class starts. Take it easy for now."

"I'll be telling you the real situation about this school soon."

Sakagami-sensei looked like he was in a great mood—almost like he couldn't hide his excitement.

It was clear they had broken the school's record—and also the record of C-Class under his lead.

So everyone sat down quietly.

Sakagami-sensei placed both hands on the podium and began to explain.

It was basically the same information that Shirogane and the others had found out earlier.

The truth about this school is that it offers great teachers, no tuition fees, and living expenses—but the living expenses are earned through the students' own efforts.

"In this school, each class's performance and evaluation are reflected in their class points.

The school gives every class a fair chance. Each class starts with 1000 points, and the living allowance is based on that score.

On the 1st of every month, your personal account will receive private points equal to class points × 100. This will keep building up. The same happens next month, and every month there will be a special test. That test is linked to the score and may lead to gaining points, losing points, or even getting expelled."

"And as for the rewards the school promotes—those are only given to students who graduate from Class A."

Even though they'd already heard this from Ryuen, the students were still a little shocked.

When they first enrolled, they thought just getting into this school would be enough. But now they were told only Class A students could actually receive the school's rewards.

"Shut up."

This was when Ryuen stepped in. "If only Class A graduates get the rewards, then we just have to graduate as Class A, right?"

Right?

But the class still couldn't calm down.

Because it obviously wouldn't be that easy.

Shirogane knew it was time to say something.

C-Class was held together under Ryuen's rule, but most students didn't truly accept him. They just didn't dare speak out. And with rewards only going to students who graduate from Class A, the competition between classes would be long and intense. If Ryuen didn't change how things were, someone would eventually rise up against him.

Going against Ryuen alone wouldn't be a big deal—but becoming a traitor to the class? That's serious.

So in this kind of situation, it helps to have someone with a softer image step in and win people over.

Like this—

"I think there's another way to look at it," Shirogane said.

The students around him looked over.

Over the past month, Ryuen had kept a tight grip on everyone, using force to make them obey.

But there were two people who weren't part of his group.

One was Shirogane, and the other was Shiina.

Shiina was the class beauty. No one dared to mess with her, so that made sense. But Shirogane? He didn't seem easy to deal with either, and yet Ryuen hadn't done anything to him. That didn't sit right with people.

Some students even guessed—maybe Ryuen had lost a fight to Shirogane?

"It's true the school's promotion might have been misleading."

"But that doesn't mean it's all bad, or that it's worse than other schools."

"After all, the fact that we don't have to pay tuition is already something other schools can't offer," said Shirogane. "And as for living expenses, even though we earn them based on our performance, if we can keep our scores high, then doesn't that mean if we do well enough in the monthly special exams, our monthly allowance can increase too?"

"Right now it's 70,000 yen, but it's not impossible to imagine getting 100,000 or even 200,000."

"Have any other schools ever offered this kind of opportunity?"

Definitely not!

Oh!

The students around them, both boys and girls, turned to look.

"And you don't have to worry about whether this is real or not, because Class 3-A has already scored over 2,000 class points. That proves the school accepts this system."

"At 200,000 yen a month, that's 2.4 million yen a year. Over three years, that's 7.2 million yen! And since every point equals 1 yen in purchasing power, that's 7.2 million yen!" Shirogane said. "So you're not just spending three years locked away in school—you're graduating with a small fortune."

"Can any other school match this kind of deal?"

"..." Hmph.

Ryuen didn't say anything. He knew Shirogane was selling a dream to the other students.

And the idiots around him were listening very seriously.

Partly because there were just too many idiots in this class. Partly because the dream he was selling sounded way too good.
