Pov:Max
"Sometimes, a stranger enters like magic…
And ends up saving your whole day."
The exam hall was unusually cold.
Maybe it was the nerves.
Maybe it was the fear of blanking out.
Or maybe… I just wasn't prepared enough.
Kitty sat beside me, her fingers nervously playing with her pen cap.
The last few days had been a mess — gossip, rumors, awkward silences, and half-truths left hanging in the air.
And now… the final exam.
Ten minutes before the bell rang, I was still trying to revise a vague topic — one that just wouldn't stay in my brain.
And that's when she walked in.
Vin.
Short hair. Ethereal skin.
An angel in a kurti and sneakers.
We'd crossed paths earlier, but today she smiled directly at me.
"Struggling?" she asked, glancing at my scribbled notes.
I nodded. "This unit just… refuses to make sense."
She laughed lightly and pulled my notes closer.
"Okay. Listen closely. You don't have to remember everything — just understand this flow. I'll connect the dots for you."
In less than 10 minutes, she broke the entire concept down — point by point — with examples and comparisons.
It clicked.
I could finally breathe.
And then it happened.
As soon as the question paper was handed over…
There it was.
Question 1: The exact topic Vin had just explained.
I turned to look at Kitty — her eyes wide, jaw slightly open.
She whispered, "Bro. No way."
I grinned, holding back a laugh.
Post-exam, in the canteen.
"Vin, you're a lifesaver!" Kitty almost shouted.
"We owe you big time," I added, pulling out my purse.
"No no! You don't have to—" Vin began.
"You have to let us treat you. It's non-negotiable," I smirked.
She laughed, a little shyly, as we ordered samosas and lime juice.
There was a comfort in her presence —
Like someone you didn't know you needed…
Until they just showed up and saved you.
As we ate and laughed, I caught a glance of someone from the far table —
Ram. Sitting with his batchmates, eyes briefly landing on me before shifting away.
I didn't look long.
I just wanted to enjoy this small win.
In between the heaviness,
A stranger gave me light.
Maybe some people don't stay forever…
But they arrive just when you need them most.
