Chapter 36 - Epilogue

While in his apartment, the young man looked at the beautiful scene before him. With a rare, gentle smile on her face, Ophis was slowly combing the white hair of the little girl on her lap, carefully avoiding the two pairs of horns pointing up and down on the side of her head. The little girl didn't pay attention to her mother's actions. She was selflessly drawing something in her sketchbook, while her thin tail with a fluffy ball at the end swung from side to side.

— Dinner is ready, — two girls entered the room with trays in their hands. — I made your favorite dessert, Cana.

A few plates of pancakes and a glass of strawberry milkshake were placed on the coffee table in front of the girl. After that, the dragons sat down next to Ophis.

— Thank you, Aunt Esdeath, Aunt Hitori.

— You're welcome, Cana, — the pink-haired girl couldn't help but pat the little girl on the head. — Enjoy it.

Silence couldn't stop smiling stupidly from the joy that his closest people, his family, were happy. However, this peaceful picture didn't last long. Suddenly, the dragon felt a push from behind and the tip of a golden spear burst out of his chest. Pinned in place, he couldn't act when a grotesque figure appeared behind the girls, as if created from two creatures — a dragon and a fallen angel. Silence watched helplessly as his loved ones died painfully at the clutches of this monster.

— Grr-r-ra-a-a!!! — the young man looked around with a furious groan. His mystical eyes darted in all directions of the dark apartment. — A dream?.. More like a nightmare.

Having calmed down, he unclenched his tightly clenched fists, in which pieces of torn bed remained. He was lucky that today he slept in another room, while Ophis and Hitori slept in their bed. Activating the Alpha Stigma once more, the young man made sure that he had not disturbed the girls in the next room, nor Esdeath in the other apartment. After the news of Ophis's pregnancy, only the dragons and their guard dog remained in the house.

"No. Something is wrong with this. The vision was too realistic, — he concentrated this time, but the young man's gaze was focused on himself. — That's right."

There, deep in his soul, in addition to infinity, a particle of the already familiar power splashed. Only one dragon, whom he had seen once, possessed such an aura. Which was logical — only someone of such power could imperceptibly influence Silence.

"Why did you do this, Great Red? Do you want to mock me by demonstrating such torture?" — the dragon did not say this out loud, but only mentally. He was sure that he would be heard, and he was not mistaken.

"You are mistaken in my intentions, boy, — a deep voice sounded in his head. — This is my warning to you. I usually do not interfere in the affairs of others, but this man's dream will lead to unpleasant consequences for me. And you had better sort this out quickly. I do not want to deal with a maddened snake if the plan comes to fruition."

"Why are you helping us? I thought you hated each other."

"Nonsense. Ophis may not like me because I occupied the interworld, but it never came to hatred. Especially after she acquired her own home and family, — the dragon said good-naturedly. — Now that she is expecting a child, the snake will definitely not bother me anymore. Let it remain so."

"Thank you."

Chaos — that was exactly what one could call what was happening in Hell. Rebellions broke out across the various clans' territories. The reincarnated demons could no longer tolerate the inequality and oppression of the pure devils. They had felt neglected for too long, as if they were third-class citizens or slaves. Naturally, such a coordinated event was not a stroke of luck, the followers of the Old Lords were behind it all.

However, the rebellion alone was not the Demon Lords' main problem. The danger came from the forcibly activated balance breaker "Annihilation Maker". Twelve shadow monsters at least a hundred meters tall were rampaging through Hell, creating smaller copies of themselves. The strongest participants in the Rating Games stood against them, slowly but surely taking down their opponents. Even their new ally, the nine—tailed fox, joined the fight against the monsters, burning one Abracadabra by himself.

Unfortunately, an even more terrifying threat was the Jabberwock, a two-hundred-meter-tall shadow monster with terrifying regeneration. None of the top fighters or faction leaders managed to cause significant damage. The monster continued to move towards the demon capital of Lilith. The evacuation of the city was ongoing, but time was running out. The only person capable of destroying the Jabberwock was missing. Sirzechs went to intercept the firstborn of the original Lucifer, who was spotted near the island of Agares.

In all this chaos, battles broke out in Lilith between the heroes and the retinues of young devils celebrating the promotions of some of them.

No matter how much the demons resisted, no matter how hard they tried to defeat the humans with their combined efforts, they could not overcome the difference in strength between them. The fighters from the hero faction simply had more experience in battle and did not hesitate to use dirty tricks.

In a moment of despair, when their servants began to suffer losses, a young man known to both sides appeared not far from the combatants.

— Where is Cao Cao now? — There was hidden anger in the dragon's voice. — I need to meet him.

— We don't have to tell you.

—It wasn't a request, — his face twisted in a grimace of rage, revealing tightly clenched fangs. — If you don't do this, then I will start killing you one by one until that bastard shows up.

— Try doing that! — after the cry, Zhanna took out a syringe familiar to him and injected herself into the neck, as did Hercules next to her. — Breaker of the balance of chaos…

— Slowly, — before the girl could fully transform, Silence tore her head off her shoulders. Turning to the astonished guy, he pointed the tip of the sword at the hero. — You're next.

— Basta ... — Hercules rushed at his comrade's killer. He prepared to blow him up, gathering all his strength into the rocket on his right hand. — Die... cough... cough-cough."

Unfortunately for the teenager, his attack failed. Quickly closing the distance between them, Sai placed his hand on the warhead, activating his aura. Before Hercules could process the situation, the dagger slid unhindered into his chest up to the hilt. Death was almost instantaneous.

— Next, — the young man moved to another center of battle, from where he felt the presence of familiar heroes. There he noticed a group of Sekiryuutei, furiously attacking Siegfried, and Georg protecting him. He also felt the recent presence of two nekoshou, but they were nowhere nearby. — Too bad, I didn't feel anything bad towards her, — the dragon's words made everyone pay attention to him, even Rias, who was leaning over the corpse of the ex-monk. — Although it was a logical move — to kill the healer first.

— Why are you s... — Georg tried to ask his question, but was interrupted by Issei.

— Silence!

— Ha-ha-ha! I see that you are full of hatred towards me, but first you want to deal with the blonde's killer, — the young man mockingly watched as Hyodo glared at him furiously, but continued to attack the swordsman. — But you should hurry, otherwise you won't be able to take revenge.

— What do you mean?

— I'll kill both Siegfried and you, Georg. I hope he values you more than the others and shows up.

— What? — the mage created a communication circle, but received no response. — Heracles!.. Jeanne!.. You're a monster! Why?!

— Don't act like a saint, — Sai was no longer smiling. Bloodlust was starting to emanate from him. — Hades already told me about you sneaking into Cocytus. Do you think I don't know about your plan to attack Ophis? — the boy's reaction confirmed that Great Red hadn't lied. — Worthless!!! — This made the young man fall into a dragon's rage. His figure was enveloped in a black, impenetrable, abyssal fog. Among the spreading darkness, only amber eyes, burdened with the blue glow of alpha stigma, were visible. — I'll destroy you!

Feeling the enormous killing intent on himself, Georg instinctively retreated, launching dozens of magic spells at the source of the threat. However, as soon as the projectiles collided with the surface of the fog, they disappeared, as if they had sunk into the depths of an impenetrable ocean.

— You really are a monster, — said Cao Cao, who had appeared next to the mage. Seven spheres were hovering around the guy — his activated balance breaker. —A real threat to humanity, just like my capricious boss.

— Grrrrr! — Instead of words, only a growl was heard.

— You can't even answer like a human. Ha! An animal.

When the leader of the heroes appeared, Rias felt mortal danger from the mere sight of the spear. Giving a sign to the others, she was going to leave this place, but the situation did not allow her to teleport. Just as the girl was about to distract Siegfried with the sphere of destruction so that her beloved pawn could return to her, the duo was swallowed by the approaching darkness.

— Issei! — Kiba stopped the girl who tried to rush to the rescue. — Let go! I don't want to lose him too.—

— No, Rias-sama. There's no telling what will happen to you inside, so I can't let you go there ,— the blond held the kicking demoness tightly. — Issei-kun is strong. He'll cope and return to us.

— A-a-ah! — That's when everyone could hear the teenager's cries of pain as he left the confines of the mist. — Damn it! My arm! It hurts. А-a-a-a-a!

Hyoudou was holding onto his missing left arm, the stump of which lay next to him. He was still in red armor, but it didn't save the guy when his arm was simply torn off. Rias managed to free herself and ran to her servant to use the only bottle of "phoenix tears" on him. The medicine that she hadn't managed to give to Asia in time.

— Something's wrong, — Georg didn't understand how he could determine the dragon's emotions just by his eyes, but he was definitely laughing right now, looking at them. — Where's Siegfried?

As if answering his question, a hand flew out of the darkness. Without giving him a second to think, his right arm, left and right legs, torso and finally his head flew out of the fog. The swordsman's usually calm face was now frozen in a grimace of pain and horror.

— You'll regret this, — despite the emotions overwhelming him, Cao Cao did not break into a thoughtless attack. — Georg, prepare to summon Samael. As soon as I deal with him, Ouroboros will probably rush here straight from his lair.

One of the spheres entered the spear, preparing to use a unique skill. The strongest of the seven — Palinayaka Ratana. Following the swing of the tip, a wave of aura of light with enormous destructive power, in no way inferior to Durandal, flew out of the spear. Despite the enormous attack speed, the dragon managed to move a couple of meters to the side. A third of the fog was cut off from the source, but Sai quickly restored the loss.

— A sneaky bastard. What, you don't like it? — the hero teased with a grin, noticing slightly narrowed eyes. — There's more to come. Take that!

The spear instantly lengthened, piercing the fog right between the amber eyes. The moment Longinus hit, the fog within ten centimeters of the shaft dissipated, revealing the absence of the dragon. At the same moment, a clawed paw jumped out of the darkness from the left, closing on the weapon with a death grip.

— Ha-ha! Do you think I'll leave such an obvious weakness? — Dozens of pairs of eyes opened all over the fog, exact copies of his own. The second hand clenched on the shaft, preventing the possibility of easily tearing it out. — You always talked about wanting to confront supernatural beings. So where is your vaunted power, hero? What are you even capable of without this toy? Cao Cao, you are nothing more than a pathetic little human. A weak, insignificant creature whose life will not last even a hundred years, the second half of which is just a stretch of agony before death.

— Damn, — the leader of the heroes ground his teeth. — Damn, damn, damn!

Cao Cao had few options for what to do next. As long as the dragon held Longinus in its aura, he couldn't just return the spear. Palinayaka Ratana had a long recovery time for a second attack, and the other spheres were ineffective against Silence. In this situation, the teenager would have used Assa Ratana, but the dragon's aura blocked the ability to teleport him. And now this unbearable runt was mocking him. If True Idea didn't require time to activate, he would have definitely used it. Unfortunately, the current enemy wouldn't give him even the slightest chance to do so.

— Georg, summon it! And be prepared for Ouroboros to appear.

Obeying the leader's words, the mage activated the prepared transfer circle. As soon as he did this, Silence felt a slight chill, despite the seething rage. It was not for nothing that the creature that appeared was called a "dragon eater". Samael, the angel who tricked Eve into tasting the forbidden fruit, is the result of the wrath of the strongest of the gods — the Biblical one. He is the embodiment of God's hatred for dragons and snakes, the strongest dragon slayer, whose venom is capable of harming even dragon gods.

— Hah! Not so confident now? — The teenager felt his grip on his weapon weaken. At the same time as the command, he successfully tore the spear from the enemy's hands. — Samael, destroy him!

Due to the fact that the angel-dragon hybrid was nailed to the cross, his ability to attack was greatly limited. In order to avoid the dragon slayer's fast and flexible, whip-like tongue, Silence had to let go of Longinus and dodge at the highest speed. The black fog rushed across the street of the ruined city, but eventually froze in place.

— That's it, — Cao Cao said with satisfaction as the fog slowly dissipated. — Samael's poison is very effective. How?!

The hero's joy did not last long. As soon as the fog completely disappeared, an unpleasant picture unfolded before them. Silence was not injured, but on the contrary — it was he who harmed his opponent. During the chase, the dragon picked up Siegfried's torso and used it as a shield. However, such an obstacle could not stop Samael's tongue, which is why the young man used the newly acquired sword, which he managed to get by separating it from the red glove.

— It was stupid to think that I would not be prepared to fight him ,— the swordsman's body was nailed to the ground along with the monster's tongue. Without damaging the organ, he could not free himself. — Samael is undoubtedly the worst enemy for dragons, but that is precisely what limits him. Tear him apart, Fenrir!

The World Wolf, the God Slayer, one of the ten strongest creatures in the world, leapt out from the rubble of the building where Silence had summoned him earlier. Swiftly approaching his prey, he returned to his former, huge form before closing his fangs on Samael's body.

Naturally, Cao Cao did not stand still, trying to stop Fenrir, but Silence stopped him. Taking advantage of the distraction, he closed the distance and tried to cut off his head. Noticing the danger, the hero instinctively used one of the spheres.

— Why is your sword still intact? — the boy blurted out in shock.

— Huh? That's it — it took him a second to comprehend the situation. — Although it looks like a weapon, but in reality, it is just my condensed aura. That's why your ability didn't work. Enkidu. — Since they were standing so close to each other, Cao Cao had no chance to escape the chains. — Die. — Without further ado, the dragon took the life of its opponent by decapitating him. Turning his gaze to the large wolf, the youth saw the remains of his worst enemy, the last of which had entered Fenrir's stomach. Sai took a deep breath. The heavy weight of responsibility had been lifted from his shoulders as the threat to his family disappeared. He had only one task left before returning home.

Silence teleported to the sky island of Agares. Upon arriving, he immediately noticed a chaotic battlefield. Dozens of Evil Dragons, led by several of their elders, were confronting a group of devils, among whom one could see one of the Demon Lords and her retinue. A little to the side, another Demon Lord was standing opposite the instigator of all this chaos. Sirzechs stopped as Silence approached and signaled to his servants. He carefully watched the newcomer, trying to figure out how he was connected to this.

— For what purpose did the chosen one of the Infinite Dragon God himself come to visit us? — Despite his mocking tone, Lucifer's firstborn was on guard.

— What you are about to release could cause trouble for me.

— And you have come to stop me? — Rizevim prepared to attack, while Sirzechs prepared to support his unexpected ally.

— That's up to you, — his words caught the demon off guard. — You want to go to war on another world, right? You need evil dragons and Trihexa for that?

— Right.

— Then I can help you with that.

— How? — Satan's descendant was skeptical of the boy's statement, but due to his connection with Ouroboros, there was a small chance that he was telling the truth. — And why do you want to help me?

— I want to get rid of the problem of the mad beast. Even if I kill you now, in the future there will surely be a fool who craves chaos. It's easier to send this thing far away, so you'll have to unseal it on the other side, and as for "how", — Sai took a deep breath and shouted into the sky. — Great Red!

— I'll help, — the heavy aura of the dream dragon spread through the space as its presence seeped into the underworld. The sky above the island split, revealing a red dragon against the background of the interworld. — Those who wish to leave this world, stand on the island. I will move you along with it. The rest — get lost.

Silence watched as the last possible danger to his pack disappeared. Of course, if you do not count the lazy Red Lizard as such.

"Instead of insulting, it would be better to thank for the help."

"Don't read my mind! Although you yourself told me about the teleportation of Trihexa, but still thank you."

Having received no answer, the young man chuckled. Now he can safely return home. Having no more enemies, Silence is going to calmly enjoy all the delights of life with his beloved and await the birth of their child.
