–The perspective of Kilgue Spaith–
I come from humble beginnings. Born as son of the Chieftain of a small tribe in the Terraza region.
Since coming across Orcs are rather rare, more than half of the population of orcs from Terraza all come from my tribe. We had only 125 or more residents.
Orcs are seen as tools or weapons due to our superior strength, speed, and durability.
We're also feared due to this usage of the Orc race.
I am a half orc, my mother was a troll.
I don't remember much of my mother before she was sold off into slavery.
I want to become an adventurer to clear the negative reputation for Orcs, I want to be a beacon of salvation for the weak!
Or at least I did.
All that resides in me now is resentment.
I was fighting a S classed chimera, with 9 other students, hacking and slashing at its hard scales.
"We got it from here!" A boy said from a distance
I gave him a thumbs up and decided to go take a breather
Suddenly, the other kids surrounding me, leaving Veseon and his group to fight the chimera
"Paul, Shaun, You fought hard." I grinned towards two of the mages
No one thanked me, or congratulated me, they only replied with stares.
Stares filled with malice
"Kilgue Spaith, the powerful Orc warrior, top of all his classes, S class adventurer."
The boy walked through the crowd, slowly clapping
"Did I miss anything?"
"Adam Longsley, Human, Merit roll, A class adventurer."
I said in response
"Oh so you actually know me?"
Adam chuckled
"Of course, you're a promising young man!"
"Sorry, but flattery won't get you anywhere, we can't let you leave."
Adam took his staff off of his back and everyone followed suit
He pierced the blade on the bottom of his staff into the ground
"Drench!"
He shouted as a large ball of water formed above me
When it dropped I barely flinched
"What do you mean?" I asked
A kid dashed by me
"Fox hunt!"
He shouted as he took something from me
I looked up at the boy and he was holding a growing green stone, MY glowing green stone
"Give that back!" I reached my hand out
"Landslide!" Another kid shouted, and the mud beneath my feet leaped over my head and buried me in the ground
It took a minute before I dug my way out
When I reached the surface, I found no one. Not a single soul in sight. Not even a chimera.
Hours pass of wandering in the darkness, and I have yet to come across a single living soul.
It's final. I'm all alone down here.
I found a couple adventurers but they all extracted before I could get their attention.
Maybe adventurers aren't the righteous heroes I once thought they were..
I wandered through the Dark Continent for days, surviving off of the flesh of chimeras, and my drive to exact revenge.
About 3 days in of me being stranded in the Dark Continent, I felt something.. Strange.
I felt an evil aura emitting from this cave..
Naturally I was curious and I wandered inside.
I conjured a blaze to illuminate the walls of the cave.
sitting in front of me was something that had the presence of a human.. But it wasn't..
I shined the light on the creature before me.
It was something that looked human, it looked Vistarian, It had short black hair and pink eyes with pale skin. It was wearing nothing but a loincloth made of a mixture of Scales and Pelts
Its skin looked brittle and it had a 3rd eye that it attempted to hide with the blood of the chimera it was eating.
It covered its eyes when I shined the light towards it, however it continued to chew on the chimera it had scattered all over the cave floor
"You're an adventurer right! You've got to help me!" It stood up, distressed.
"Sit back down, chimera." I got into a fighting stance.
"Quite a perceptive one aren't you.." He took a step towards me
"This cave will be your grave if you continue." I took a step back in response
"Mellow out, I'm not going to kill you." He put his hands up to the shoulder level
I conjured a stalagmite of stone from the walls and shot it towards him
"Lehär." He said, and all of the stone affected by my magic that was in the vicinity crumbled to dust
"Or how do you guys say it.."
"Right! Disturb."
"Just what are you.." I stepped back, dumbfounded
"Exactly what you said I am, a Chimera!"
He grinned wide, his teeth was stained with blood and sharp, they looked like they were made for tearing through flesh
"One ranked with the letter Z"
He chuckled
"No way.." I stepped back yet again
"I'm amazed you're not paralyzed with fear right now!"
He walked over and ripped off a chunk of the chimera he was eating
"Sit down, eat."
He offered me some
I gulped
"Oh c'mon, If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead by now."
He placed his hand on my back
"Like so."
He was just across the room!
I complied and sat down and made a fire using the bones of his meal
"First things first, would you like to engage in a deal..?"
"No."
I replied instantly
"Oh c'mon!"
He almost threw a tantrum
"The animosity you bear for those adventurers resonates strongly!"
he leaned in
"I can help you exact revenge."
"I refuse to become a cursebearer."
I maintained a poker face
"Curse..? Just who do you think I am.."
He stood up
"Any contract I sign is a blessing! I am the Z ranked chimera known as pride!"
The ground shook as he shouted
"Unmatched! Unrivaled! Prideful!"
I still maintained a poker face.
A blessing.. I've read about these. A single blessing is stronger than a 5 cursed, about Twenty-fold.
"You don't show a hint of fear.. Are you that confident..?"
He paused before forming a wide grin on his face
"You show pride, adventurer. Let's make a deal." He held his hand out.
I paused, and looked him in his eyes
Hesitantly, I grabbed his hand, accepting his deal
"Yes!" The chimera shouted, laughing like a madman
A white, soothing flame formed around both of our hands
"I'll reside in your body for now! Call upon me when you're ready!"
He disappeared.
I could feel my powers were multiplied, by about 10..
Not only did my power increase, the resentment I bore was also multiplied.
This must be pride.
I want to do nothing more than get to the academy and slaughter every soul.
I managed to escape the dark continent and found myself at the sky port.
I stepped up to the air lift, and the guards stopped me.
"You reek of miasma."
"We can't let you up." The guards stopped me
"That's fine." I said, before crouching down
"Move, you're holding up traffic!" The guards seemed hostile
Suddenly I Leaped up, scaling the entire Sky island.
When I was far above the sky island I kicked off of the air, sending myself towards the school at high speeds
