Last Chapter Recap: "Do not move, traitor! Hands up!" a voice came from behind.
NOW
How did he- was he following me?! I was sure there was no one in the vicinity!
"Hell, you scared me, Lieutenant!" Adam said.
"Shut up, bastard Traitor. Hands up! Don't try anything funny!" Lt. Chand said, seriously.
"What in the—" Before Adam could finish, Chand interrupted.
"No talking!" Lt. Chand said seriously.
Then Lt. Chand reported, "Commander, I found the new guy snooping around the engineering bay."
"Could you—? Yes, right away. I'll wait for you."
"What restricted area? There's nothing about—" Before Adam could finish, Chand interrupted.
"Save your breath for the commander!" Lt. Chand snapped.
"Lower your gun, Lieutenant," Heidi came to the scene and said. She then turned to Adam. "So, Ensign, is what he said true?"
"Commander, I received orders from the captain to familiarize myself with the ship," Adam explained. "The captain only said not to go to the west wing. I wasn't aware this was a restricted area."
"Liar! Only engineers have the right to enter this room!" Before Chand could finish.
Heidi said, "Lieutenant, Ensign Black, as an intelligence officer, does have access to engine rooms."
"But he might be—" Chand started, but
"Lieutenant, since when did you swap roles with the security officer?" Heidi interrupted. "You are dismissed."
Chand glared at Adam and left the area.
"Phew, thank you, Commander," Adam said. "For a second, I thought I was a goner."
But Heidi started to lecture Adam, "Blah, blah, blah..." Adam interrupted with a sigh, replying, "Yes, ma'am, yes, ma'am."
(A/N: I don't want to bore you guys)
"That's good," Heidi said. "I'm sure the captain gave you proper instructions on where you can go and were not. Am I wrong?"
"Yes, ma'am," Adam said.
"Hmph," Heidi said, then left.
'What a bitch…! I was clearly wronged here, yet she makes it my fault?!'
'Phew… I need to calm down. It's be so stupid to fall over first hurdle, after I waited so long for this opportunity.'
'From now on, I'll try to avoid conflict with this Chand guy...' Adam thought for a while and then left for another bay.
Armory
"Ensign?" Aurora asked. "What are you doing here?"
"Captain didn't show me every corner of the ship," Adam said. "I'm making rounds. This is the Armory, right?"
"You know that and are still wandering in?" Aurora said seriously. "That's a violation of security protocol, you know?"
"What? I wasn't told—" Adam said, shocked.
"Ha ha, relax, I'm only joking," Aurora laughed. "Every weapon here is locked."
After the joke, Adam started his electronic work while Aurora watched. In between some work and conversation, "blah, blah, blah," they chatted. Before finishing, Aurora got a notice from Doctor Ivanna. She turned to Adam.
Aurora said, "Anyway, if you want to take a look around, feel free to do so. Just be careful with touching things, though."
"Because it's dangerous?" Adam asked.
"No, the alarm is really loud," Aurora said with a smile. "Captain hates the sound, so..."
"No touching," Adam immediately said.
"Exactly," Aurora said before leaving the Armory.
After a few more tasks, Adam left the Armory and headed to the canteen to satisfy his hunger.
Canteen
After entering the canteen, the aroma of food hit Adam's nose. "I have to admit that in terms of food and dishes, the Alliance government beats the Neo-Terran government."
"Hmm... I guess I'll have a sandwich and apple juice today," Adam said.
"Ara? You're having dinner too, Ensign?" came a voice from the side.
'If it isn't Big Tit- I mean, communications officer Laura.' Adam thought as he saw the person.
"Hello, Lieutenant. It seems our stomachs work at the same time," Adam said, making a joke.
"Hahaha!" Laura laughed. "You ordered a sandwich and apple juice? Do you mind if I join you?"
"I'd be delighted to," Adam said with a smile. "No matter how delicious the food is, it always tastes better in good company."
"You're a flatterer," Laura said with a smile. "Although, I don't know if ship food could be called truly delicious."
After a small conversation, we started to eat our food while I glanced at Laura.
'Seeing this beautiful, Big Breast Women eating a meal before me is strangely arousing. Good thing she can't see my erection under the table.' Adam drooled while looking at Laura.
"I've never talked like that with someone from the Neo-Terran side," Laura said while eating.
"Fortunately, a former one," Adam shook his head. "And besides, isn't Lt. Chand a defector as well?"
"Ah, you're right," Laura said. "But Lieutenant doesn't give off, you know… the vibe."
Next, we engaged in a few conversations about the Neo-Terran, Alliance government, and crew members, with plenty of flirty remarks in between.
