Chapter 9 - A BAD DAY

Mike was a friend of the family. He had visited them to have fun. Also, he had a main hidden reason to visit. A reason to make fun of them for their viral memes in circulation.

Mike was a very funny person. He was a comedian by nature. Every time he opened his mouth to speak, people around him could be left laughing.

Shiro had to welcome their guest in a special way. She quickly went to the kitchen to warm food for him.

She came and noticed and asked the guest, "Will you mind having a cup of tea or a soft drink?"

"Serve me both of them, I will drink tea as I sip the soft drink", Mike jockingly said.

"Sure!" Shiro responded in a surprised manner.

"Just serve me tea, it will be best for me", Mike finally clarified.

Shiro brought the tea to the table, served with bread slices sandwiched with pure honey.

"Feel at home and enjoy your meal" Shiro finally welcomed the visitor to the table.

At this time, Shiro had added a sheet around her waist. She didn't want to expose her body as they had a visitor.

"You are such a responsible lady. "I really admire your way of doing things", Mike complemented her.

"You admire her! "Don't you know that she is my fiancé?" Mark angrily said.

Mike felt terrified but had to clear his point.

"I didn't have any ill intentions, it was just a skeleton complement"

Mark looked straight into his girlfriend's eyes. Shiro had frowned on her face, creating a shallow wrinkle on her shiny face. It dawned on him that she was not comfortable with either conversation or the way Mark was behaving. But Mark was determined to create boundaries.

" Please, mind your tongue," Mark warned.

Mike now had to be careful. He wondered why his friend Mark was so hard to please that day.

There was a great silence afterward. Mike just had to finish his meal and go as the environment seemed hostile.

"Where have you been all along? "It has been long since you last visited us. Shiro broke the silence.

"I just had a tight schedule; from work, family and community work", Mike spoke cautiously.

"How is your family back at home, and your sister?" Shiro was determined to push the conversation going.

Mike started gradually becoming comfortable.

"How was the previous score between the Shabana Fc and Police Fc"Mike engaged Mark in a talk.

It was a good game. We scored one goal against the police Fc". Mark proudly defended his favorite football team.

"But you were lucky, the game was too complex" Mike commented.

"Leave that for another day. "Have you ever been to the coastal region?" Mark asked.

"Not yet, but I am really longing to spend a holiday there", Mike categorically said.

"We have been at the Coast for four days, a vacation," Mark said.

Shiro was too elite and anxious to express herself.

"The vacation was well planned, from booking very expensive rooms to visiting the best beach on the coast," she said.

"Wow! "I think you all enjoyed it. "What about the Shimoni caves?" Mike pushed the conversation.

"We did not have a chance to visit the Shimoni caves, but next time we will consider" Mark responded.

"There was this meme circulating in the media about you... I guess it was inside Fort Jesus, right? "It really made my day". Mike mocked them indirectly.

"Were the viral memes necessary in our conversation?" Mark responded angrily.

Mark quickly stood up on his feet, quickly moved and grabbed Mike. He then made his way and sandwiched him onto the wall. He was very furious, threatening to break him into pieces.

Shiro rushed and went to separate them. She grabbed her boyfriend from beside, trying to pull him back. But Mark was too energetic. The more he pulled him, the more he exerted pressure on Mike, squeezing his tiny body onto the wall.

Shiro, having no other options to utilize, let out a wail. She wanted to get the attention of the neighbors who would come and rescue the situation. She knew any delay could render her house a scene of crime.

When Mark realized that Shiro could attract the attention of the neighborhood, he quickly retreated. I took a step towards the coach and had a sit.

Mike struggled, breathing loudly. He had found a chance to escape. He moved quickly, opened the door and ran as fast as his thin leg could carry him, disappearing into thin air.

Shiro and Mark remained in the room. The neighbors who responded to the commotion were left in a dilemma. No one was willing to explain what had happened. They had just witnessed a young man running very fast from their house. Mark, sitting on a chair suspiciously, and Shiro were just staring at them.

But why was Mark behaving in such a manner? Or maybe he was a jealous boyfriend, embarrassing Shiro in front of their visitor. What was wrong with a comment on a viral meme about them?

When the situation finally subsided, it became a case to answer. Shiro was as angry as a lion. She needed an explanation as to why the boyfriend could become so wild.

Their argument escalated, Shiro now insisting on a break-up. It took Mark quite a long time to convince her, promising never to act as such uncouth manner.

After solving that problem, the two had to prepare evening meal.

It normally happened that every challenge that came their way bonded them. The love afterwards was always stronger.

Mark and Shiro had a nice time in the kitchen, engaging in constructive discussion. They talked about their future together.

Mark was so caring that night. He helped his girlfriend prepare the meal.

They prepared their favorite meal, a Swahili dish,'pilau'.

They had their dinner and went to sleep. They had a stressful day and were too exhausted to stay awake for some minutes.
