Chapter: 19, Easy Win
Inside the vast hall of the cave, five girls were standing opposite to a boy, ready for battle by summoning their armor and weapon memories. And a blind girl was looking at their way, she had anticipation, but regrettably, she couldn't witness the battle about to unfold.
The boy opposite them was in the state he was before the duel was announced. He didn't even summon any weapon memories to fight against the group of girls who were extremely skilled with their own abilities.
All of them looked at him weirdly and one of them asked hesitantly "Mark, are you not summoning any memories?'
Mark looked at the person who spoke; it was Seishan, the blood lord of the Dark City. He smiled and replied "Oh, I won't need one. I am enough by myself."
Sunny sighed, thinking that Mark was being overconfident. Without weapons and armors, how can he protect himself from their deadly attacks? It was good for Sunny so she didn't voice her inner words. As long as Mark stays out of the entire life threatening battle, she can finish all of it with relief.
As the two sides began for the inevitable duel, both sides had a burning desire to win for the same reason. They both are fighting to make the other follow their own plan.
A figure rushed at him in inconceivable speed, swinging her blade towards him, Nephis charged at him with murderous intent in her blade.
Mark was calm as he looked at her charging figure, and at the crucial moment when the sharp edge of the blade was close to him, he dodged with ease.
Nephis was slightly taken aback but she quickly composed herself and quickly adjusted her posture for the next rounds of attacks.
The moment mark stepped aside; an arrow came charging at him as if wanting to pierce through his skull completely. But he used his enhanced perception and caught the swift arrow, as the force from it shook the air nearby.
He looked at the direction the Arrow came from and saw Kai holding her bow, ready for the next strike.
Suddenly a shield came flying towards him with immense force. He couldn't stop or avoid it because of his position, so he swiftly grabbed the corner of it and moved his body with its friction to spin and throw it back to Effie, who threw it in the first place.
As the shield was thrown away, Nephis charged at him again, this time more swiftly, more precisely and with more force. Mika quickly twisted his waist to meet her eyes and with a motion, grabbed her hand while avoiding the arrow Kai threw at him in the process.
The shield barely graced Effie's shoulder and blood flowed out of the wound, making her wince in pain. But she composed and steadied herself, before rushing towards him holding her spear in hand.
Seishan was sweating profusely; her blood ability didn't work, oh Mark. She tried many times but each time turned into failures. She didn't know that with the throne of flesh and blood, his affinity and authority both surpassed hers, so her aspect abilities were ineffective against him.
Giving up on using her abilities, she summoned her sword memory and rushed forward to join them. She might not be as strong as Sunny or Nephis, but she has her own unique battle style through which she has survived all this time in this hell.
Sunny enveloped herself with all four of her shadows and summoned serpent, an ascended devil and formed the black odachi. She rushed forward using her third rank Shadow Dance with lightning speed.
Mark was bombarded with relentless and unstoppable assault of their somewhat good battle formation. Every action they took against was either aimed to hit him or give an opening for others.
Their teamwork was great, but it was still insufficient to win against mark.
Even though Mark was completely cornered, barely avoiding all their blows, if he wanted to escape he could've done it pretty easily. His almost Transcendent Physique was enough; coupled with his heightened senses by the weavers mask and enhanced perception by Broken Swords Aspect, he can easily defeat them.
Deciding to finish the fight quickly, Mark controlled his strength and with swift movements grabbed Effie's hand and twisting it a bit, he hit an acupoint on her neck, making her unconscious instantly.
Mark gently laid her down while dodging the others attacks and after she was okay, he changed his location to avoid accidentally attacking her.
As he met Seishan's sword with blood forming deadly sharp edges, he avoided it and with swift movements appeared behind her and struck the same acupoint, making her unconscious as well.
Mark wanted to avoid hurting them, so he quickly targeted Kai and with lightning speed, appeared right in front of her. She let go of the arrow accidentally and Mark stopped it right before it touched his chest. That charming face made him hesitate to hurt her but reluctantly he made a move.
He threw the arrow away and doing the same, made her unconscious just like Effie and Seishan. Now, only the two strongest people of the group were conscious, ready to charge at him continuously.
Nephis and Sunny rushed forward with their blades, attacking him with great teamwork and without any openings in their techniques.
Both Light and Shadow were attacking him with their relentless blows. Mark dodged their attack and with swift movements came behind Sunny; she couldn't dodge his attack but nephis blocked his hand with a blow of her own.
Mark knew that he couldn't avoid hurting these two, so he decided to finish this with one single blow each.
Mark didn't use his full strength but the amount was enough for them to get unconscious in one blow. As his punch touched Nephis in the chest where her heart was, he controlled her flesh to not damage her heart.
With one blow, Nephis was sent flying with Sunny dragging along. They hit the cave wall and with a big crack forming, both of them became unconscious.
Mark sighed with relief, he wouldn't need to use this much strength again. After taking a breath, he went to pick them up and brought the two of them near the bonfire.
Cassie, who heard the sounds of the clashing blades stop, heard the footsteps and asked with concern "has the fight ended?"
Mark smiled at her and said while going to pick up the rest of them "Yes, just need them to wake up and our decision will be finalized."
