Chapter 15 - The Escape Part 1

Leor on the ground frowned, his expression growing more timid by the second, 'Did ending 7 activate?'

This was the only way he could make sense of it all.

The system already confirmed that Johan had no system, so this force couldn't be a reward.

'In that ending, Johan broke the seal on his forehead, becoming the vessel of death… it means, Johan and the transmigrator are already dead,' he shuddered at the thought. He was still far from his peak state—the one that had gone toe to toe against death.

If you choose this ending for the main character in the game, it ends with Game Over. A small cutscene of how everyone died.

There wasn't even a choice that could fix this choice.

'...But maybe with the system… her strength also should be at her peak. I should end her before she gains her powers back!' His eyes grew firm, brightening slightly.

Radhaan also had a very similar thought process with the information he had, *'Johan's forehead had Alya's body sealed, his aura was similar to death, but it didn't make his or anyone's body rot or age at all like that sword—

She's not fully awakened yet. We can kill her.'* A bright smile appeared on his handsome face.

This was like a dream come true for him. His greatest desire wasn't peace, or love, or wealth—it was to kill death, make every last person immortal. Only then would the true potential of humanity be revealed.

Now the humans died before they could get good enough. Their knowledge, techniques, power—everything disappearing with them.

This was such a waste.

Both Leor and Radhaan turned their eyes toward the solemn face of Leonard at the same time.

Leonard, understanding what they meant, nodded seriously.

"As the 2016th King of the Aurelian Empire, I declare Johan Von Matilda and Sebastian Bonewit enemies of the Empire—

Send this message to every human Empire, and The Hunter Organization. Both are now S-Rank criminals!" Leonard declared solemnly.

Astreus, now out of the ice dome, also said with authority, "As the 3045th Pope of the Church of Ymir, both S-Rank criminals are also considered enemies of God and an evil that should be eradicated."

Astreus felt the power seeping from Johan was of something evil and vile, and 'evil' should be purified.

The people who had just woken up nodded seriously. A huge battalion of knights instantly left to chase after them.

Men on seven seats, Selene, Leor, and Leonard started to discuss the technicalities of the process and their next move.

Cold air hit the faces of Sebastian and Johan, passing straight through clouds, trying to suppress their presence as much as possible.

Their bodies glowed bright purple light, a sign of Sebastian's Aether. Sebastian breathed raggedly, trying to keep his face stoic.

His butler uniform was already fully torn, revealing his muscular chest, on which Johan had placed a hand, warm golden light constantly releasing from it.

'He has this black clot of mass inside his lung… similar to lung cancer back home.' Johan frowned invisibly, not wanting to worry Sebastian.

The term cancer wasn't invented in this world—he only knew this from back home.

With complete visualisation of Sebastian's every nerve in his mind, and comparing them with images he saw on the internet, Johan's frown deepened, 'He hardly has a month.'

His heart ached a bit. His daughter had already abandoned him for Leor.

He left his second wife completely alone, who was bad to Selene, but surprisingly, Johan and Acier were a pretty good couple.

Now having the memories of Johan, he missed the warmth of her body on a cold night. Cuddling like the world was going to end.

The one clingy sister who is also a divine general… always hugging and kissing Johan wherever she sees him, even in the court. She was a bit tomboyish from birth, always bullied by their parents—

Johan protected her—every time. When she didn't have dinner, he brought his to her.

These fond memories reminded him a bit of Clara, even though their personalities were completely opposite.

And now, Sebastian was also dying.

'Loneliness aside, I can't even survive without Sebastian… those divine generals must be searching for me like a bunch of crazy dogs.' His heart trembled with the thought, but he quickly suppressed it with a devious smile.

[Quest 3: Completed]

[Reward credited: 50,00,00 points]

His irises moved toward the top right corner of the blue screen—50,26,00 points.

'It's not the end… just the beginning!' They had already escaped from the artifact's area, now in the skies of Visteria—the capital city of the Empire.

Johan was feeling quite the motion sickness for some time, rubbing his throat while taking deep breaths.

His hands played with the soft yet watery cloud, spreading his arms fully, letting his body sink into the clouds.

'I will decide the ending of my life this time.' He let his body completely go, losing all the tension in his muscles, and the frown on his face, flowing with the air. Sebastian's magic made sure he didn't fall.

The peaceful moment was broken by Sebastian's cautious voice, "Master, it seems we are being followed…"

'Huh? Weren't we fucking 8000 meters in the sky, moving more than 700km/hour? Even Astreus himself can't chase us here… but maybe, Radhaan or Leor could…' Johan bit his lips tremblingly.

If this was them, he was more than sure that they would die—even if he used the aura of death… he was sure Radhaan could still kill him.

He saw how Radhaan could still breathe calmly in the court, not fearing him, just being cautious.

'Should I use the points now? There's a huge chance of winning something good with that many points.' Johan thought while staring at the big red button stating GAMBLE in golden font.

It was still better than dying in Radhaan's hand.

In the courtroom, he had checked both Radhaan and Leor's stats, and as he had expected, they were unbelievably horrifying.

Leor's strength and magic were close to 30,000, while Radhaan's every last stat was at least 20,000.

'And here I am with 10 strength!' He wanted Sebastian to just turn off his magic and let him fall.

No matter how he thought, he couldn't think of any way an old man or his weak healer ass could beat those monsters.

But just before he could press the gamble button—

"What a surprise, Johan, I didn't expect you would do something like this." A robotic voice rang inside the white cloud, making them both turn, staring intensely at the empty white cloud.

Sebastian slowed down his speed and charged up an anti-gravity spell.

It was a good plan, actually. No matter how strong the source of the mysterious voice was, they were still in the air—

Against gravity.

Just as they were cautiously staring as far as they could, Sebastian's stoic eyes widened, then softened a bit.

Johan's pupils dilated, growing more curious about the mysterious person.

Suddenly, a palm-sized fireball appeared out of thin air, disappearing instantly,

But then he felt something on his back—

His eyes widened to the limit.
