Bella felt the tension thick in the air as Damien and Leo stood face to face, their voices low but sharp.
"There's no way they found us this fast unless someone gave them our location," Leo said, his jaw clenched.
Damien's expression darkened. "And you think it was someone inside?"
Leo exhaled sharply. "I know it was."
Bella's stomach twisted. A mole? Someone had sold them out?
But before she could speak, Leo's gaze flickered to her.
Her breath caught.
"What are you implying?" Damien's voice was lethal.
Leo crossed his arms. "We went completely off-grid. The only person with an unaccounted past… is her."
Bella's heart pounded. "You think I led Morelli here?"
Leo's silence was answer enough.
Damien turned to Bella, his dark eyes unreadable. "Did you tell anyone where we were?"
She shook her head furiously. "Of course not!"
But doubt hung in the air like a storm cloud.
Then Leo pulled out his phone and tossed it onto the table. "We intercepted a message from Morelli's camp. He's thanking someone on the inside. The message came from a private number—one Bella used to call someone before we left the city."
Bella felt the blood drain from her face.
No. That wasn't possible.
She had only made one call… to her sister.
Oh God.
Damien's gaze was razor-sharp. "Who did you call, Bella?"
Her throat tightened. "My sister, Ava. I just… I just needed to know she was okay."
Leo's face hardened. "Then she's the leak."
Bella's head spun. No, Ava would never—
Would she?
Damien took a step closer, tilting her chin up. "Tell me the truth, Bella. Do you trust her?"
Tears burned her eyes. "I don't know anymore."
Silence.
Then Damien turned to Leo. "Get me everything on Ava. If she sold us out—"
Bella gasped. "No! She's my sister!"
Damien's expression was stone-cold. "Then pray she's not working with Morelli."
Because if she was—
He'd make sure she paid for it
