Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 Wang Qi's Newly Made Friends

The next day, Wang Qi brought three people to the warehouse. "Su Shixiong, the people are here. Please check them."

Su Junyu twitched his mouth. "Am I some sort of human trafficker? Four people, do I still need to count them? But wow, you actually got the work done efficiently."

Wang Qi laughed loudly. "Of course! Of course!"

However, after looking at the three people Wang Qi had brought, Su Junyu's facial twitches spread all the way to his whole face. "These are the teammates you found?"

The first Qi Refining cultivator was a half-demon with orange hair. Su Junyu vaguely remembered her from the first day Wang Qi entered the academy. Later, he heard that Wang Qi had become friends with her and brought her along just to fill up the numbers, but... she's a half-demon! Yes, the Sun God Pavilion said there were no records proving that half-demons had lower intelligence, and the Celestial Alliance also strictly prohibited discrimination against half-demons. But everyone knew that half-demons weren't very good at calculations, right? Taking a Qi Refining half-demon to do a trial related to research? Really?

Su Junyu wasn't discriminating against half-demons per se, but the fact remained that half-demons, especially those in the Qi Refining stage, were naturally weaker at calculations than humans. Of course, this flaw could be corrected with cultivation. By the Golden Core stage, a half-demon's calculating ability was almost the same as a human. Moreover, if the bloodline had something to do with creatures like the Bai Ze, the half-demon's calculation ability could even surpass a human. But... a Qi Refining stage half-demon? Not the best choice.

After noticing Su Junyu's judgmental gaze, Mao Zimiao, the half-demon girl, smiled at him with friendliness. But the second person showed a different reaction. The second new disciple was a tall young girl. After noticing Su Junyu's gaze, she snorted disdainfully and turned her head away.

Su Junyu could immediately tell this girl was a bit hot-headed. Let's be clear, this wasn't because Su Junyu had seen so many women. He could tell because of her aura of spiritual power. The girl was practically radiating electric energy! She must be cultivating the "Tian Ge Xing" technique, right? Although the technique was brilliant for solving questions, seeing her with so much rebellious energy was definitely a unique interpretation of the method.

The third youth seemed much more normal, an average person with a perfectly ordinary attitude, smiling at Su Junyu as per the proper etiquette one should show to a senior disciple. But... when Su Junyu scanned the young man's spiritual aura, he couldn't help but ask, "Are you really here to help?"

This young man's aura was so weak, it was as if he had just broken through to the "Tong Tian" stage minutes ago and had been dragged out right after.

The young man bitterly smiled, about to answer, but Wang Qi immediately spoke up. "Of course! This brother is very loyal. I was just looking for one more person, and he happened to break through to Tong Tian right in front of me. Naturally, he was eager to join me in the trials!"

This time, not just Su Junyu, but even Mao Zimiao looked at Wang Qi with weird expressions. "How is that possible?" Mao Zimiao meowed in disbelief.

Wang Qi shrugged. "No way, I can't make this stuff up. He lives next door to me—what a great neighbor!"

Mao Zimiao patted her chest, looking relieved. "As long as that's the case, I'm less worried!"

Su Junyu also nodded. "Mm, I thought so. This guy doesn't seem like the kind of person who would track when someone else breaks through."

Wang Qi complained, "Hey, you two are making it sound like I don't have any friends!"

"That's the truth though," Su Junyu teased. "You really don't have many, do you?"

Both of them teasing him at the same time made Wang Qi embarrassed. He pointed at the quiet girl, sneering, "This is my newly made friend!"

Su Junyu laughed mockingly. "Oh, really detailed, huh?"

As soon as he said that, Su Junyu regretted it. Over the past two months, he had become quite close to Wang Qi, and making jokes like that was common. But now there were two girls here, and it might have been a little inappropriate.

Fortunately, Mao Zimiao and the other girl didn't understand such high-level jokes.

Mao Zimiao looked curiously at Wang Qi. "How did you meet this sister?"

Wang Qi grinned warmly. "It was last night. After some physical 'struggling,' we both ended up falling..."

At that point, Wang Qi intentionally paused and gave the girl a meaningful look.

The girl immediately shot him a cold glare, and in the blink of an eye, she conjured a ball of silver lightning and sent it crackling toward Wang Qi.

Mao Zimiao was initially struck dumb, but seeing the girl's reaction, she immediately understood. "Wang Qi, you really shouldn't make such jokes with a kid like this!"

Wang Qi showed an uninterested expression but didn't explain the situation further. It was Wu Fan, who had been silent the whole time, who spoke up and asked the girl, "Excuse me, are you from the Discipline Department?"

Su Junyu was a little surprised. "Disciplinary Officer?"

The Discipline Department was made up of assistant teachers and new disciples and was responsible for supervising the behavior of new students, ensuring they didn't violate any Celestial Alliance rules. Su Junyu, knowing Wang Qi well, couldn't help but be surprised. Wasn't this the kind of person who always got into trouble? Why was someone from the Discipline Department actually friends with him? Did this Disciplinary Officer lose their mind?

Wang Qi reluctantly explained, "She's not interested in being a Disciplinary Officer because she loves upholding rules; she's just here because being a Disciplinary Officer means she gets to hit people legally."

It turned out that last night, Wang Qi couldn't find any good candidates, so he came up with the idea of putting up a recruitment notice. There wasn't much harm in that, except that the academy prohibited students from randomly posting notices. The Disciplinary Officer, Wu Shiqin, found the notice and, bypassing normal procedures, decided to beat Wang Qi first. Wang Qi wasn't willing to give in, so he ran and led her to a secluded area in the academy. The two of them fought for a while and, surprisingly, it ended in a draw. Then Wang Qi took the opportunity to invite her to join the trial...

Su Junyu couldn't help but complain, "How is that 'taking advantage of the situation'?! Also, Wu Shixiong, shouldn't the Disciplinary Department have a special restraint tool? How come Wang Qi looks like he can take a beating without any problem?"

Wu Shiqin answered indifferently, "I prefer using my fists."

Su Junyu was stunned. What's going on? This Disciplinary Officer really lost her mind...
