Zalario gave a small nod. "His skill is strong, but-."
it is where the gap in strength becomes evident."
The battlefield trembled as the daemon's aura surged, dark tendrils of energy forming around him.
"You have impressed me, human," the archdaemon admitted, his golden eyes gleaming with excitement. "But I am done playing."
With a flick of his wrist, a storm of abyssal fire erupted around him, twisting and coiling like serpents. The once-confident warrior gritted his teeth, barely managing to deflect the incoming barrage with swift, precise movements. His sword sliced through the flames, but the sheer volume of attacks pushed him back.
Velsun smirked. "That daemon isn't even going all out yet."
{Aye, lad, and that human is already struggling.}
Zalario simply observed. "The difference between a strong human and a daemon is still too great. However..." He glanced at Velsun. "Do you still want to recruit them?"
Velsun's golden eyes glowed. "Of course. Let's see what this warrior and daemon are truly capable of first."
As the battle raged on, Velsun and Zalario remained above, watching with keen interest.
Then as the fight was going on the daemon had the upper hand and raised his claw to finish the high human champion and swung down his claws with a gleam in his eyes
But just as the daemon was about to take the life of the champion and hand gripped his wrist halting him from ending Reinhart
"Sorry can't let you kill him" said Velsun
The daemon's eyes widened in shock as it felt an iron grip locking its wrist in place. Turning its gaze, it met the calm yet unwavering stare of Velsun. A mixture of frustration and amusement flickered across the daemon's twisted features.
"Who are you, you dare interfere?" it snarled, its voice laced with venom.
Velsun tightened his grip, causing the daemon's clawed fingers to tremble under the pressure. "Yeah, I do," he said nonchalantly before pulling the creature forward and slamming his knee into its gut. The daemon let out a guttural growl, staggering back as the force sent it skidding across the ground.
Reinhart, still catching his breath, looked up at Velsun in disbelief. "You… you saved me?"
Velsun shrugged. "Couldn't just let you die, hero." His gaze never left the daemon, which was now rising to its feet, fury burning in its blood-red eyes.
"Hey and as for who I'm? Im just your friendly neighborhood True dragon." Said Velsun pointing at himself with a thumps up.
The daemon's entire body tensed, its crimson eyes widening in shock. "A… True Dragon?" it repeated, disbelief laced in its voice. The mere mention of such a being sent a primal fear crawling down its spine. True Dragons were at the pinnacle of existence—beings of unfathomable power that even the mightiest daemons and gods dared not challenge lightly.
Velsun smirked, his aura shifting ever so slightly, a pressure so immense that the air itself seemed to tremble around him. The daemon instinctively took a step back, its predatory confidence replaced by hesitation.
"What's the matter?" Velsun asked, his voice laced with amusement. "Weren't you about to kill the so-called hero a moment ago? Go ahead. Try it."
The daemon snarled but didn't move. It could feel it—an overwhelming presence radiating from Velsun. It was not a bluff. This was the aura of a being that stood above all.
"Impossible," the daemon muttered. "Why would a True Dragon interfere with a battle between these humans?"
Velsun tilted his head, still gripping the daemon's wrist tightly. "Because I felt like it," he said with a grin before tightening his grip even further. The daemon let out a cry of pain as cracks formed along its dark, chitinous skin.
Reinhart, still recovering, watched in stunned silence. This wasn't just any powerful warrior. This was a True Dragon in human form. And in this moment, it was clear—Velsun was far beyond anything the daemon could hope to contend with.
The daemon's lips curled into an unexpected grin before it suddenly dropped to one knee, bowing deeply before Velsun. Both Velsun and Reinhart were left momentarily stunned.
"My lord, True Dragon, please allow me to serve under you!" the daemon declared, its voice laced with an almost fanatical devotion.
Velsun narrowed his eyes. "You were just trying to kill the hero a moment ago," he remarked, his grip still firm on the daemon's wrist. "And now you want to serve me?"
The daemon chuckled, lifting its gaze. "I am of the Black Lineage, my lord. We daemons of this bloodline are driven not by conquest or destruction, but by insatiable curiosity. And you... a True Dragon, a being of absolute power, standing here among mortals? I must understand why. To serve you would be the greatest honor, a chance to witness the mysteries beyond my comprehension!" His eyes gleamed with raw fervor.
Velsun studied the daemon for a moment, then smirked. "Oh... sure. Why not?"
With a casual wave of his hand, a golden aura flared around Velsun as he activated Mimir, his skill of boundless knowledge. In an instant, his power wove together a new vessel—an artificial body designed to harness the daemon's full potential. Scales of deep obsidian adorned its form, claws tipped with gleaming silver, and intricate dragonic runes pulsed along its arms. The vessel radiated pure strength, a body worthy of a daemon serving under a True Dragon.
"Take this," Velsun said, presenting the vessel. "A body crafted to unlock your maximum power. Use it well."
The daemon trembled in awe, gazing at the vessel with reverence before turning back to Velsun. "My lord… you have granted me a gift beyond measure!" Without hesitation, the daemon's essence surged forth, abandoning its previous husk and diving into the new body.
A powerful pulse of energy erupted as the fusion was completed. The daemon opened its new eyes—now glowing with a molten gold hue. It flexed its fingers, feeling the overwhelming surge of power coursing through its form. A wicked grin spread across its face before it quickly knelt again.
"Thank you, my lord! It is my eternal pleasure to serve you!"
Velsun chuckled. "Well then, let's see if you live up to that loyalty."
Velsun scratched the back of his head as he looked at the daemon. "So… do you have a name?" he asked, unsure whether this archdaemon had one or not.
The daemon, now standing tall in his new body, shook his head. "No, my lord. I am but a nameless servant, awaiting my purpose."
Velsun groaned internally. Great, an archdaemon without a name. If I name him, he'll definitely evolve into a daemon lord…
Then, a mischievous grin crept onto his face. Eh, screw it. Sounds fun.
"Alright then," Velsun said, crossing his arms. "I shall name you… Karlos!"
The moment he spoke the name, an immense surge of magicules burst forth from his body, flowing into the daemon. The sheer force of it sent a shockwave through the area, causing Reinhart to stumble back in shock.
A dark cocoon of energy formed around Karlos, swirling ominously before slowly unraveling. When the energy dissipated, Karlos emerged—completely transformed. His former appearance had been sinister and demonic, but now…
His jet-black suit was pristine, fitting his toned frame perfectly. His sharp features now looked unnervingly human—smooth skin, piercing crimson eyes, and silky black hair neatly styled. He looked more like an aristocratic butler than a daemon lord.
Velsun blinked. Then he blinked again.
Damn… this guy is hot.
Karlos smirked, running a hand through his hair. "My lord, because of your great power, I have evolved into a Daemon Lord—one of the highest evolutions possible for my kind." He took a step forward, eyes gleaming. "I am eager to meet your every need."
The way he said that, combined with his damn near model-tier appearance, sent a shiver down Velsun's spine.
"Bro, what the fu—" Velsun yelled, stumbling back.
Karlos merely chuckled, his crimson eyes gleaming with amusement. "Worry not, my lord. My devotion to you is absolute."
Velsun groaned, rubbing his temples. What the hell did I just create?
