Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The First Target

Jihan stood alone on the rooftop of the school, overlooking the city. The weight of the new mission pressed against him.

New Mission Unlocked: Break the Chain.

Objective: Take down the Syndicate's enforcers, one by one.

The Syndicate had made its first move. Now, it was his turn.

His phone buzzed.

Hacker: "I found your first target."

A file popped up on the screen. Jihan opened it, scanning the contents.

Name: Kang Hojun

Alias: The Butcher

Role: Enforcer for the Shadow Syndicate

Jihan's eyes narrowed. He had heard the name before. Hojun was infamous for handling the Syndicate's "dirty work." If someone needed to be silenced, he was the one they sent.

A second message appeared.

Hacker: "He runs an underground fight club. If you want to take him down, you'll have to step into his arena."

Jihan exhaled. A trap. But one I can use.

Into the Pit

Later that night, Jihan arrived at the abandoned warehouse where the fights were held. The atmosphere was suffocating—sweat, blood, and raw violence filled the air.

Dozens of fighters surrounded the makeshift ring, shouting, betting, waiting for the next match.

Jihan walked through the crowd, unnoticed. For now.

Then a voice boomed over the speakers.

"TONIGHT, A NEW CHALLENGER ENTERS THE PIT!"

Jihan stepped forward. His presence alone was enough to turn heads.

Across from him, Kang Hojun cracked his knuckles, a sadistic grin on his face.

"Oh? You're the one making trouble for us?"

Jihan didn't respond. He just raised his fists.

The bell rang.

The Butcher's Strength

Hojun didn't waste time. He charged.

Jihan barely dodged the first punch, but the sheer force of it sent a gust of wind past his face.

Too strong. Too fast.

The second strike came immediately—an elbow aimed straight for Jihan's temple.

He ducked, countering with a sharp knee to Hojun's ribs.

Nothing.

Hojun barely reacted before grabbing Jihan by the throat and slamming him into the ground.

Pain exploded through Jihan's back. Shit.

The crowd roared.

"You're weak," Hojun sneered. "You thought you could walk into my arena and—"

Jihan moved before he could finish.

He twisted, locking his legs around Hojun's arm, and wrenched it in the wrong direction. Hard.

A sickening crack echoed through the warehouse.

Hojun howled in pain, staggering back.

Jihan got to his feet, blood dripping from his lip. "You talk too much."

The crowd fell silent.

Finishing the Job

Hojun's rage boiled over. He came at Jihan like a rampaging beast.

Jihan didn't back down. He had analyzed. Adapted.

Every move Hojun made was now predictable.

Jihan sidestepped the first punch, striking Hojun's broken arm.

He screamed.

Jihan pressed forward, delivering a brutal combination—

A hook to the jaw.

An elbow to the temple.

A knee straight to the ribs.

Hojun dropped to his knees, barely conscious.

Jihan grabbed him by the hair, forcing him to look up.

"Tell your bosses," he said coldly. "I'm coming for them."

Then he drove his fist into Hojun's face, knocking him out instantly.

The Syndicate Takes Notice

As Jihan left the warehouse, his phone vibrated again.

Hacker: "You just declared war."

Jihan smirked, wiping the blood from his hands.

Good.
