Chapter 18 - Massacre

Hu Fang wasn't just waiting and watching her attack to land, almost as soon as Wu Shitong was hit she was moving towards the location he would soon land. She appeared as a large white mass cutting through the air with precision, her speed otherworldly. Arriving almost instantly just under Wu Shitong she prepared to end the fight almost as quickly as it began, her mouth opening wide, a terrifying vortex of Qi rotating was formed in her mouth. Its speed of rotation whipping up the wind nearby preparing to shred her old foe into pieces.

Getting over his initial shock, all that was left in Wu Shitongs eyes was fear. The end of his life almost seemed to be a forgone conclusion, as he saw the mouth of the tiger rapidly approach. In desperation he hurled a punch with his left hand, gray Qi rapidly forming along the outside of his fist. 'I just hope to trade an arm for a chance to escape, if I live this attack I'll run immediately, revenge can wait.'

The dire situation burned any miscellanious thought in Wu Shitong's mind into only one, surviving at all costs. His punch met Hu Fang's mouth solidly the gray Qi he generated clashing directly with the silvery white Qi of Hu Fang. To his horror Hu Fang's jaws didn't even close onto his arm as his Qi was immediately snuffed out. Hu Fang's vortex of Qi shredding his body into nothingness along with it. In despair Hu fangs jaws continued forward before closing against his neck. His head flying off into the air before landing on the ground with a thud. Blood not even splattering as it was vaporized by the storm of Qi. Hu Fang ended the life of a fourth stage spirit beast almost effortlessly.

She callously tossed the ruined corpse of Wu Shitong aside with disdain. 'To think I thought this coward would actually be able to stand up to me at all was a misjudgement. The difference between stage five and stage four is unimaginably vast.' Ending her thoughts she turned her massive head to observe the chaos that her son and Yin Xiu were exacting on the rest of the baboons.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before Wu Shitong had even fallen from the tree, Yin Xiu and Hu Meng had already made their move.

The baboons were standing still in complete shock as they watched their always mighty patriarch suffer a loss so quickly. The duo quickly made them pay for their inattention, before they could even react Hu Mung had already crossed the distance between him and his designated opponents.

His claws mangled one of the stage two baboons ribcage effortlessly, the baboon's internal organs destroyed, leaving no room for survival. Using the collapsing body as a foothold, he pushed off of it to lunge at the other stage two with a lithe grace. Quickly eliminating one opponent was the plan from the start, and utilizing his mother's flashy combat style as a distraction quickly led to the results he wanted. It both weakened morale, and allowed him to focus on fewer opponents, greatly increasing his odds of winning. A cruel smile alighting his features, as his instincts kicked in. Blood was about to by spilled once more.

Yin Xiu meanwhile followed a similar tactic to his friend, as he quickly hurled one needle directly at the strongest looking young baboon that had yet to reach stage one. The throw was extraordinarily accurate, piercing the young baboon right through the eye and emerging from the back of its head, killing it instantly.

Not checking the results of his throw he immediately made a feint towards one of the other baboons, before turning unnaturally. His body pirouetting at an inconceivable angle using the flexibility of his ankles. Catching another of the baboons completely off guard. It attempted to raise its hands belatedly in self-defense, but was met with nothing as Yin Xiu dodged gracefully to the side, while stabbing with both hands simultaneously. One buried itself in the lower right side of its abdomen. The other piercing directly through its back. Quickly removing the needles he turned to face his three remaining enemies.

Now without the element of surprise he was expecting to have to face the frenzied attacks of the remaining baboons, but to his shock they started to run. All of their courage completely gone, as they felt the aura of Wu Shitong completely fade out of existence.

Yin Xiu quickly reacted by hurling another needle which, unfortunately, wasn't nearly as accurate as before due to the target being on the move. It only managing to pierce his target in the leg. He immediately rushed up to finish it off without mercy. Turning his attention to the remaining foes he was unsure which one to chase before he heard the low roar of Hu Meng "Yin Xiu I'll chase one, and you get the other. Don't leave any alive!"

Hearing this, Yin Xiu chased the last of the five deeper into the forest. Pushing his newly refined body to the absolute limit, he followed the trail of the baboon as closely as possible. While utilizing all of his flexibility and speed to overcome the baboons advantages in navigating the forest environment. A few tense minutes had passed, and Yin Xiu barely made out the back of the baboon through the foliage, he began to raise a needle when the baboon sent a taunting glance backwards, before it hit some type of mechanism.

Yin Xiu's pupils shrank as suddenly the floor caved out from beneath his feet. Sharpened stones glinting dangerously from below, threatening to cripple his feet, and forcibly end his pursuit. In Desperation he aimed carefully, and just managed to barely avoid having his feet impaled by flexing his feet vertically on his toes to just barely fit between the spikes. Gritting his teeth he threw away any sense of superiority he might have had after winning so cleanly before. The tribe had clearly set up traps throughout the area in case of intruders, and he was sure he would face more on his pursuit.

Much more cautious, Yin Xiu continued his high speed chase while the baboon triggered several more traps, darts shot out of trees, logs fell onto his path in an attempt to crush him and multiple types of pitfalls were navigated precariously by Yin Xiu.

Almost half an hour had passed before he finally managed to catch up with the baboon. Noticing that its traps had failed, it hurled its arm backwards while shattering the stone-like protrusions along it to interfere with Yin Xiu's vision. Yin Xiu dodged to the left before a needle flashed coldly, ignoring the shower of rocks to stab into the baboon's right leg, it let out an ear piercing howl, as it found its mobility completely restricted, Yin Xiu removed the needle quickly, the serrations on the needle making the wound even more severe.

The baboon with bloodshot eyes cocked its arm back while gathering all its strength while Yin Xiu seemed to be completely off balance from the motion of removing the needle. With a shout it threw the hardest punch it had ever done in its life, all in an effort to end this hateful enemy that had exterminated the rest of its clan.

The strength of the punch and the weight behind it caused the air to compress from the sheer force. Its eyes contained a manic glee, as it imagined the purple haired human's head exploding from the proudest strike it had ever thrown. Unfortunately for the baboon, reality was much harsher than its imagination. Yin Xiu bent down at an impossible angle, rotating his body as he did so to gain momentum, before he stabbed a needle straight through the baboons head. Its expression of hatred still etched onto its face even in death. It never even realized it had missed the punch before it died.

Yin Xiu panted over the body of the baboon before sitting down in a huff, quickly trying to reagin his energy after the mad dash through the forest laden with traps. "These guys are really vicious!" He gasped out before then shuddering at the prospect of being even slightly off with his movements during his evasion of those traps. He knew the end result wouldn't be pretty in the slightest had he made a mistake.

A minute or so later Hu Meng strolled out of the shadows leisurely before looking down at Yin Xiu in disarray, with a bad natured smile plastered all over his face. "You were quite... what's the word? Ah yes, quite graceful contorting around earlier."

Yin Xiu's eyes sharpened immediately after hearing the obvious jibe from Hu Meng "You mean to tell me that you just sat back, and watched that whole time?!"

The black tiger hmphed nonchalantly, "Well I had already defeated all of my opponents, so why would I help you with yours? Besides, if it was really dangerous I would have stepped in." Hu Meng then paused slightly before getting rid of his previously frivolous tone of voice. "Really though, you fought extremely well Yin Xiu! Once you begin cultivating Qi you'll truly be a nightmare to face. Your ability to change directions, and your unnatural, and frankly spooky ability to dodge by just contorting your body will leave many enemies with no way to fight back."

Yin Xiu's expression eased at the sincere compliment before he stood back up, "Well now that its over its time for the real excitement to begin." The duo smiled at each other before exclaiming in unison "Loot time!"
