Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Johnson's Family Betrayal

Before Alexander could say another word, a sharp, loud clap reverberated through the Johnson family's house. He turned toward the noise and saw his father-in-law, Richard Johnson, leaning casually against the front door with a smug, almost sinister grin on his face. Standing beside him were several of their relatives and staff, all seemingly watching the scene unfold.

"I see you've finally figured it out," Richard muttered, his voice mocking, as he let out a cruel laugh, one that sounded almost demonic. "I thought you'd still be as clueless as always."

Alexander, now completely overwhelmed by the situation, turned to Richard, his confusion deepening. "What are you talking about?" he asked, his voice filled with bewilderment.

"Don't you get it yet?" Richard sneered, shaking his head with contempt. "What part of this don't you understand? That my daughter used you just to get what she wanted? Or maybe you're too blind to realize that she's been lying to you all along?"

The words hit Alexander like a punch to the gut, leaving him speechless and motionless. The weight of Richard's words sunk in, and for the first time, he began to comprehend the true depth of the betrayal — not only from his wife but from the entire Johnson family, whom he had trusted and been loyal to. The shock was overwhelming, and he couldn't seem to process the sheer audacity of it all.

He shook his head, trying desperately to hold onto some semblance of clarity. "Why? Why would you do this? I gave you everything — my money, my loyalty," he stammered, his voice full of disbelief and hurt.

Richard's response was cold and disdainful. "Exactly," he said with a bitter grin. "You look like a complete fool with all that loyalty. You thought you could win her heart with it, but you were just being used."

Sophia, now fully dressed, stood beside Jason Carter, who had his arm possessively wrapped around her waist. She shot Alexander a condescending look, her voice dripping with contempt as she spoke. "You've been nothing but an idiot for being loyal to us," she remarked, almost as if she were speaking to a child.

Seeing them together, Alexander felt a surge of anger course through him. His face turned red with fury, and without thinking, he shouted, "Get your hands off my wife!"

Jason Carter, unfazed by Alexander's outburst, merely laughed in a mocking tone. "Your wife? Is she really your husband, babe?" he asked, addressing Sophia, his smirk widening.

Sophia didn't hesitate. She shook her head dismissively and reached up to touch Jason's face tenderly before planting a passionate kiss on his lips.

"You're my one and only, Jason," she whispered, gazing at him with affection, before turning her cold, indifferent eyes back to Alexander. Her gaze was unwavering, while Alexander stood there, trembling with rage and disbelief. But Sophia didn't even blink in response to the storm of emotions flashing across Alexander's face.

"And you?" she continued, her voice venomous and sharp. "You're nothing but a walking bank. You've been nothing but a fool, and now you're paying the price for your own stupidity." She laughed, the sound grating on Alexander's nerves, each laugh deepening his growing fury.

Just as he was about to rush toward his wife and Jason, his body frozen with rage, he was suddenly restrained. His father-in-law's men, who had been standing quietly at the sidelines, grabbed him with force, holding his arms tightly to prevent him from moving.

Richard, his face contorted with anger, screamed at him, "Don't you dare lay a hand on my daughter, you worthless idiot!" His voice was filled with authority and fury, and the words stung Alexander like a slap in the face.

This wasn't just betrayal; it was humiliation, and Alexander could feel his entire world crashing down around him. The pain of realizing that not only had his wife and boss deceived him, but his entire family-in-law had been in on it, was too much to bear.

"Get him out of here, Dad. He's just causing a trouble," Sophia said coldly, and her father immediately gave the order.

Richard commanded his men to remove Alexander from their property. Alexander struggled, trying to break free from their grip, but every attempt was met with kicks and punches to his body, leaving him bruised and battered.

The pain was unbearable. Alexander was drenched in his own blood by the time the men stopped beating him. The sounds of cruel, mocking laughter echoed around him, as if the entire room was celebrating his downfall. His eyes never left his wife, but she simply flashed him a wicked grin before passionately kissing Jason Carter in front of him.

The men of Richard Johnson forcibly dragged Alexander out of the house. His face was a mess of bruises and blood, and his entire body ached, but somehow, he still managed to stand.

Before leaving the front yard of the family that had just humiliated him, Alexander paused for a moment. He turned back one last time, glaring at them all with pure hatred and vengeance burning in his eyes. "You will all pay for this," he spat. "I'll do whatever it takes to bring you down... When I return, I'll make sure that each one of you bows your heads to me."

Bloodied, bruised, and tearful, Alexander stumbled away from the Johnson family's house, his clothes torn and his face a map of cuts and bruises. The assault by Richard Johnson's men had left him physically broken, and his glasses had been destroyed in the scuffle. As he walked down the street, people couldn't help but stare at him with a mixture of pity and disbelief. His vision was clouded, his mind foggy from the shock and pain.

His body felt numb, and the only thing that drove him forward was the singular, consuming desire for revenge. He no longer registered the pain of his injuries. All that mattered was making the Johnson family pay for what they had done to him. The physical suffering had faded; only his need for retribution remained sharp in his mind.

By the time night had fully descended, Alexander had lost all sense of direction. He had no idea where he was, but the pavement beneath his feet told him he was still on the street, wandering aimlessly, his movements robotic and automatic. His legs felt heavy, but he kept going, his heart driven by the rage that now coursed through his veins.

Finally, utterly exhausted, he collapsed on the side of the road, curling his body inward for comfort. He tucked his head into his knees, trying to shield himself from the world. As he sat there in the cold night, he didn't notice that tears had started flowing down his face. His mind was a whirlpool of questions, each one deeper than the last.

Why is this happening to me? I've been nothing but loyal, a good husband, a good man. I followed their every demand. I gave them everything. So why did they repay me like this? Have I really been this stupid? The words echoed in his mind, each one heavier than the last. His heart ached with confusion, with betrayal, and with the sting of realizing just how foolish he had been.

But just as the weight of his thoughts began to overwhelm him, the sound of a car engine broke through the silence. He looked up, barely able to focus his eyes, and saw a luxurious car pull up in front of him. Even though his vision was blurry, he could make out the figure of a man stepping out of the car, walking toward him with purpose.

The man approached without hesitation, his stride calm and steady, as if he knew exactly what he was doing. He knelt in front of Alexander, his gaze soft but intense. Gently, he reached out and touched Alexander's battered face, a tender gesture that was a stark contrast to the violence Alexander had just endured.

Startled, Alexander flinched at the unexpected touch, but the man's presence seemed to calm him, even if only for a moment. His mind was still in a fog, his thoughts scattered, but the question slipped out before he could stop himself: "Who are you?"

The man gave a warm, reassuring smile, his voice steady and sincere. "I'm so sorry, son, for everything you've been through," he said. "Come with me now. I'll help you get your revenge on them. I'll make sure they pay for what they've done to you."
