Agnes pov:
I finally realised where I have seen her. We both went to the same high school. She was the only friend I had and the only one I could relate to. Her father was a gambler and her mother died while giving birth to her. After her mother died, her father refused to pay the hospital bills. It was the people in the town that contributed the money for the hospital bills and organised a burial for her mother.
One of her mother relatives took her in but she died when Tina was seven. They kept pushing her from one family to another, the longest she stayed in a family was a month. It was that bad, it continued until she got to high school and they finally returned her to her father.
Her father also abuses her but not as much as mine. Her father didn't cover it, he was even proud to say it out, what a scum of a man.
Most of the times, her neighbours will rescue her from the clutches of her father.
The first time we met, we instantly clicked. We were desk mates and we went everywhere together. She was three years older than I because I skipped a few grades. I was isolated in my class because of that. I didn't know what was in the head of those people called my classmate. When Tina came we gradually became friends,even though she was isolated because she was my friend,she didn't care. She opened up to me and told me her story. I also told her mine and our friendship became stronger. We both graduated at the top of our class.
We both got scholarships but she got a scholarship for a university in another city and mine was near our town. The day of our graduation was the last time I saw her.
Seeing her now I was happy, she pulled me for hug when she saw me. I was happy to see my best friend again. We accompanied each other when we were passing through difficulties.
" I missed you so much,Aggie" she said with tears in her eyes. Aggie that was what she usually called me. " I missed you too Tina"
"We both didn't have a phone so there was no way I could reach you" Tina said with tears now streaming down her face. " I know dear" I said as I wiped her tears " Hello I am still here" Jemmiah said. Tina and I looked at her then at ourselves,then burst into laughter. " sorry we got carried away, she is my best friend and it has been long since I saw her last" I said. " Okay besties ,we have work to do. What a coincidence that you are both working in the same shift" Jemmiah said. " anyway I have work to do byee!!" Jemmiah said as she left the department.
" I know we have a lot to catch up on but we have to work first" Tina said " Okay, go and change milady" I said teasing her like old times. " Okay m'lord" Tina said with a bow.
I chuckled as she went to change. It was nice to have my best friend back.
After she finished changing, we went to the reception room to ask for the empty rooms we were to clean. But before that we went to take the equipment we will use to clean from a compartment in the cleaner department.
After collecting the list, we went to the elevator, because none of the rooms on the hotel were on the first floor. In the fancy looking elevator, Tina and I looked at ourselves in the mirror and smiled.
