Chapter 26 - Chapter-26 Rain Rain

Jay-jay's POV

🎶 "..Oh rain, pour down, don't ever stop. Bring a storm, this is the prayer of my burning heart. My love overflows, my feelings scream with joy. Whenever it rains and I'm with you..." 🎶

Section E really is abnormal. The rain is pouring so hard, and yet they're still singing. Their lyrics are all wrong too.

Ugh, whatever...

Why is it even raining? It was sunny just a while ago. The sun was shining so brightly. Maybe the weather is possessed too? Just like Keifer—whenever I look at him, he either smiles or glares.

What a possessed guy!

Why do I keep looking at him? Ugh, I don't know!

"Announcement!"

We all turned to look at Kit, who was standing by the door.

"The higher sections were dismissed earlier. There's no more class."

No one even told us! We've been waiting all this time.

"Ugh! We're always the last to know."

"As expected."

"We're not a priority, that's why."

Seriously? It's like we don't even belong to this school. If they were dismissed earlier, that means Aries is already home.

I have no ride home.

Ugh, this sucks! He could've at least texted me. I even texted him earlier.

Then again, maybe he never planned on giving me a ride. It's not like we interact much. He's possessed too, just like Keifer.

Now that I think about it, Keifer, Yuri, and Aries have the same attitude. Could they be related?

And what are they to you, Jay?

Oh, right. Aries is my relative, not those two.

"Are you just gonna stand there?"

I snapped out of my thoughts. Yuri was standing at the door, looking like he was about to lock it. I quickly got up and ran toward him.

"Sorry," I said with a smile.

"Tss!"

Oh wow, he's just like Keifer!

Even his "Tss" is spot on. I swear they must be from the same bloodline.

I didn't leave right away. I waited for him to finish locking up. I just needed to ask him something real quick.

Once he was done—he had just locked the door—he turned around to face me.

"HOO! WHAT?!" he yelled. He clearly hadn't realized I was standing right behind him. He looked so startled. I couldn't help but laugh at his expression.

"Hahahahaha... Sorry."

"Just go home already!"

He started walking away, and I followed behind him.

"Yuri! Are you and Keifer related?"

He stopped and looked at me. "No. Why?"

"You guys act the same. Like you're both possessed."

His eyebrows immediately knitted together. He looked annoyed. He adjusted his glasses before crossing his arms.

"Possessed? Seriously?!" he asked irritably.

I forced a smile and gave him a peace sign. I couldn't help what came out of my mouth. My bad.

"Oh, possessed, huh?" he said, then suddenly ran off.

When he reached the end of the hallway, he started removing the wooden planks on the ground.

That's the problem with our building. Since it's at the far end, the surrounding area is all dirt. When it rains, it turns into mud. The smart ones in Section E placed wooden planks along the path to the restroom so they wouldn't get their shoes muddy.

But now, that jerk Yuri was removing them all!

Possessed! Abnormal!

"Hey! How am I supposed to get through?!" I yelled from the end of the hallway.

"Swim!" he shouted back. By now, he was already on the paved path.

This is the worst! I don't have an umbrella, the path is all muddy, and the rain is getting even heavier. I think everyone else has already left the school.

Yuri took off his glasses and placed them in his polo's left chest pocket. Then, he pulled out his umbrella from his bag. The rain was pouring even harder now.

Yuri waved at me before finally leaving.

Ugh! I have no choice. I'll just have to wash my uniform later so I don't look disgusting.

Yuri's POV

Possessed? Seriously? That's the term she used? And she compared me to Keifer, of all people?

Ugh, I'm so sick of it! I'm always being compared to him. I have my own life and my own personality. I don't need to be compared to him!

"Aaaarrggghhhh!!!...."

I heard someone scream. I turned to look in the direction of the sound. It was Jay-jay, stuck in the rain.

What the…

She seemed to be struggling in the mud. Well, I did remove the wooden planks and makeshift bridge we had set up earlier. I was actually expecting her to apologize and ask for help.

I turned my back on her. I had no intention of helping her now. She was already stuck in the mud, and I had no plans of getting my white uniform dirty.

"Oh my gosh! Quicksand! Quicksand!" she shouted again.

Ignore her.

"My shoes!"

Don't mind her!

"Argh! The mud is swallowing me!"

Keep walking!

"Narda of the Mud!"

Who's Narda? It's Nardo!

"Mud! Muddy madness!"

Argh! Act like you don't hear anything!

"Shutang'names!"

Haaaayyyyy... Kusogaki (unpleasant brat).

I quickly turned back to face her. I walked as fast as I could to get close to her. She looked so... gross? Her legs were covered in mud, and there were even splashes on her uniform. And her shoes? Seriously, I couldn't even recognize them anymore.

"Why did you come back?!"

"Because you look like a fool."

"Just admit you felt guilty."

I just glared at her. "Urusai!" (Shut up.)

"Huh?!" Oh, I forgot! She doesn't understand Japanese.

I stepped closer to her, about to help her, but I was holding an umbrella. She was already sinking in the mud, and it was obvious she couldn't get out. I needed to pull her up.

"Okay... Uhmm, hold this umbrella first." I handed her the umbrella.

She took it and covered me with it. There was no point in using it herself anymore—she was already soaked from head to toe. I had no idea about her bag, though.

That's another thing.

Since she was already drenched, how was I supposed to grab her? Oh, shit! Whatever. I already decided to help her, so I had to endure it. Just this once! Just this once!

I was about to place my arms under her armpits when she suddenly reacted.

"Hey! What are you doing?"

"Tsk. I'm trying to lift you up."

"Okay."

"Baka." (Idiot.)

She suddenly looked around. "Where's the cow?"

Pfftt. She's clueless that I'm insulting her.

"Nowhere." I placed my arms under her armpits. "On the count of three." She nodded. "One. Two. Three!"

I was still pulling her up when suddenly, I slipped, and we both fell.

We panicked, and she screamed. "Oh no! We're falling!" ...into the mud. INTO THE MUD!

OH FVCK!

"Oh, come on!" I shouted in disbelief.

I didn't care about the pain, but the mud! We landed in the disgusting mud where all sorts of dirt could possibly be.

"Are you hurt?" Jay asked.

"No, but we need to get up. This is disgusting."

She tried to stand, and just my luck—she slipped again, and her body landed... right on my lower body.

"Uuugggghhhh!" I shouted.

She accidentally hit my... My... My... Just, you know, THAT!

My whole body shook. I felt like it was shattered into pieces.

"S-sorry... I-I didn't mean to."

I took a deep breath. "J-just... J-just don't move." I could barely speak. I curse you! I am cursing you from the top of my lungs.

I forced myself to get up. Honestly, I was already disgusted with myself because of the mud covering me. But right now, I had something more important to worry about—what just got crushed. I knew I wouldn't be able to stand properly, so I just sat for a while, waiting for the pain to subside.

"I really didn't mean it..."

"It doesn't matter. It already happened."

I looked up as the heavy rain poured down again. What is wrong with the weather? It was sunny just a while ago.

Ugh... I'm drenched, covered in mud, and possibly shattered down there. This girl is bad luck!

I looked at her, still sitting beside me. "Don't you plan on standing up yet?"

She forced a smile and scratched her head. "I might slip again."

Unbelievable!

I tried to stand up after making sure it wasn't hurting as much anymore. Jay followed. I grabbed my umbrella, slowly walking away from the mud.

"Why are you walking like that?" Jay asked.

Why don't you try getting hit THERE…

"You'll never understand."

I was limping. I didn't want to force it—it might hurt more, and I had to think about my future kids. Since I was already soaked, I just folded my umbrella.

I looked like I had bathed in mud. Even my bag had mud on it. I decided to leave that unlucky girl behind. I didn't care anymore if she got stuck in the mud again. That was her problem. I just kept walking. The only people left in the school were the utility workers and the guard.

"Are you going home like that?" someone asked.

I was startled, and though it was embarrassing, I flinched a little.

"Woah! What the heck?!"

She started laughing loudly again. "You're so jumpy! That's the second time already."

I just rolled my eyes at her. Why was this girl still following me? Couldn't she go home on her own?

I was already in the parking lot when Jay said goodbye. I ignored her.

I didn't want to use my car. The inside would just get covered in mud. But I had no choice. If I walked, I'd be out here until midnight. And it would be embarrassing if people saw me like this.

I quickly started the car and drove away from school. I just wanted to get home and take a bath. I hadn't even gotten far when I had to stop. FLOOD!

Really?! Now I had to take a different route. That would take me longer. That girl really is bad luck... I was about to make a U-turn, but I stopped. I saw Jay-jay wading through the flood. This girl is crazy!

I honked my horn, but with the heavy rain, she couldn't hear it. I fvcking hate this. The last time I helped her, I got into trouble. And now, here we go again.

Don't help her!
