Chapter - 10 - Good friends..
7:00 pm…
It was time to worship the Buddha. All the trainees of Dhanya dorm were in the lobby, in front of the altar that enshrined the Buddha statue.
The lobby was cleaned up and a layer of carpet was laid on the floor. They sat on the carpet, putting the palms together in front of the chest and chanting the Pali verses. Some trainees were devoted while some were acting devoted.
Wine moved his lips along with the trainees beside him. He realised he got it all. He just forgot some verses of Diamond Sutra. The five precepts and praying for others are not difficult.
After half an hour of chanting, they could return to the hall. Before 9:00 pm, they were free to do what they wanted, except going out of the dorm. The dorm was locked at 6:00 pm.
Could the male trainees be locked up ? No.. the main door of the lobby was locked but what did that have to do with going out!! The windows were wide open..
Some seniors were jumping out of the window, followed by the juniors. The kumi trainees also ran wild from dorm to dorm. Some seniors went to meet their girlfriends.
The female dorms were miserable. Their corridors were surrounded by iron nets like a prison. They were even inspected door to door before sleeping. When their boyfriends came over to meet them, it was like tears behind bars.
The boyfriend was outside of the iron net while the girlfriend was holding the iron net and talking from inside. What was it if not prison visits? It was told by the experienced senior to the juniors.. The metaphor was very good, easy to understand but don't use it next time. It sounded a bit scary.
Thinking about his future girlfriend and him talking about love this way, Wine shuddered all of a sudden. The days ahead were very dark for him. Sure enough… You have to get out of your comfort zone. Only after you get out of your comfort zone, can you know how comfortable it is..
After cleaning up himself, Wine crawled into the mosquito net. The sewing mosquito net plan couldn't be realized until the day off. The big net still needs the nails. They could go to the market to buy what they need only on their day off.
Tomorrow was Friday. They have to go to the Assembly hall in the morning before classes.
They were given student cards along with textbooks. There was a blue rope attached to the card to hang around the neck. The ropes for seniors were red.
....
PE class was not hard for Wine. They were taught to assemble, turn to the left, turn to the right, pay attention and walk neatly with left and right legs. Then, run around the field for 3 laps.
However, the girls were not as resilient as the boys. Some girls nearly collapsed after a lap.
9:00 am. In the Assembly hall
The girls were more diligent this time. They arrived earlier than the boys. Plastic chairs are lined up in front of the stage, just for the teachers.
The trainees should sit on the carpet laid on the floor. Only in the Assembly hall could he see the disparity of males and females. There were 120 male trainees while female trainees were 320.
"Hey! I forgot to hang the student card. Give me your card."
Wine saw a senior take the card from his friend and clip it to his pocket. The rope was left on his friend's neck. His friend put the end of the rope into the pocket indifferently.
It was a win-win situation. Both got the benefit. Wine gave them a thumb up. Learn !!
He would use this move if he ever faced this kind of situation.
Wine saw many beautiful girls on the female side. There was a girl with a cute face and clueless eyes.. like deer, which was exactly his type. It was not love at first sight. However, this girl's image left a deep impression on his mind.
The opening speech was long. The Principle kept saying she wanted to make the speech short. The point is, can the words of the school leaders be believed? No, not at all…
Their words are not words, just a short speech is not a short speech, their five minutes speech is definitely more than five minutes. After a long speech, the Assembly was done closing with the song "The noble teacher".
On the way to the class Wine asked Anawar..
"You come to the Education College. Is that because you have lofty ideas? Like…becoming the hope of mankind, loving the flowers of the motherland or forced by the parents?"
Anawar's lips twitched. Could he tell him that he was sent to the Education College to cultivate his temperament? He was sent by his mother to cure his obsessive nature with the help of the environment.
She thought the teachers were noble and selfless. So, she hoped being in the teaching circle would help him balance between being obsessive and selfless.
But could he tell him frankly? No…
"The third kind…"
"Wow, what a coincidence! I was the same as you. My mother loves all the jobs that could be called iron rice bowls..Haha.."
"Is that so?"
Anawar hugged Wine's shoulder and put him in front of his chest. He said sorry to his mother in his mind. His nature won't be cured, not in this life.
It could be said that it had worsened. At home, he was obsessed with his own things, a bunch of lifeless things. He disliked everyone who touched his own things. But now, he found someone he couldn't get disgusted with and wanted to hide. What is it if it's not worsened?
"What are you doing? Do you want to suffocate me?"
"Sorry.."
"Let go. .."
"No.."
"I said, let go.."
Wine couldn't break free from the arms hugging him. He suddenly got angry..
"Ahhh….shh…why are you biting?"
Anawar let go and took a sharp breath..
"Didn't I tell you to let go? What does it look like pulling and hugging between two men?"
"It looks like friends. Very good friends.."
