Chapter 39 - Main Castle [3]

'Did they really separate me from the others?!'

'But, why?'

Of course, Zane pretty much had an idea already. Considering Zane's reputation, he was bound to get bullied by the other Thaleward's If he was in the same building as them, not even a full day and he would have probably already cause a ruckus.

"It must've been mom."

Zane stood still, with his hand placed on the window before him. Staring at the familiar people in the other building. It seems that those with lower potential are still separated even in the main castle.

Those who are A-rank and B-rank are categorised together, and those who are C-rank below are also categorized together.

As Zane stared for a while, he could see his sister about to look towards him. Seeing as his sister could sense his gaze, he immediately went away, hiding in the walls.

'That was close...'

Zane didn't really bother looking back at the window anymore, since he didn't really want to be seen. Not just his sister, but also the other Thaleward's. Since, each of their room had it's own windows, it wasn't possible for Zane to be seen even at the distance that seperated the building Zane was standing in, and the dormatory Thaleward was in.

- Sigh

Zane released a heavy sigh, he then started to move again finding his way in the library.

He really wanted to know what the main castle's library is like, considering how beautiful the structure of the castle is, it wasn't wrong to asume that the library would also look just as beautiful.

As he once again walked through the vast hallway, looking from left to right, admiring the paintings that could be seen in the walls. Suddenly, an old man wearing a suit, could be seen staring at a beautiful flower.

'Huh?'

Zane stared at the old butler for a moment, before approaching him. Zane was having a really hard time finding his way in the library, although he could've just ask some of the maids and butlers he saw earlier, he decided against it, since he wanted to get familiar with the castle.

But, now it was just really taking too long. So seeing the old butler in front if him, maybe this was his chance to ask guidance in the library.

Zane approach the old butler who was admiring the beautiful flower before him.

Sensing someone near him, he looked towards the man approaching him. He had jet-black hair, deep brown eyes and he looked quite handsome.

The old butler's eyes widened slightly, he then bowed at the young man before him, then said.

"Young master, do you need something?"

Hearing the butler's words, Zane smiled and nodded. He then responded:

"Actually, yeah. Can you guide me in the library?"

The old butler's eyebrows furrowed, he then said:

"The library? Well, ofcourse, young master."

Seeing as the old butler hinted at him to follow him, he started to move following the old butler.

...

"Woah!"

Staring at the grand library, Zane eyes started to glow.

The grand library stood in silence, its towering shelves curving around the circular room. Golden light filtered through the domed ceiling, casting a glow over countless books.

A narrow balcony overlooked the vast space, while wooden desks below waited for readers to lose themselves in history. Here, time slowed, and the world's stories waited to be discovered.

Aside for its beautiful structure and design, there was also no other people other him here. That means he could have all this place at this very moment.

As soon as the butler left, leaving Zane alone at the library, he immediately started to move looking through the books displayed in the library.

He walked deliberately, sliding his hands at the books displayed at the towering shelves. He did so, while looking around at the library.

'I wonder, where is it?'

Zane was looking for the Thaleward magic spells, as he was planning on learning more of his family's magic spells. He didn't really know where the Thaleward accessible magic spells are, although, he did had a hunch that in the library.

Since, magic formulas are usually in the library.

'Hmm, where could it be? Is it not here? Then where did they hide the spells?"

As Zane looked through everywhere in the library, trying to find the Thaleward's magic spells. He could suddenly hear a creaking sound coming from the towering door of the library.

Hearing the door of the library open, he immediately turned his head towards the source of the sound. There he could see three people entering the library. Not only that but they were Thaleward's, and people who he once knew in the past too.

'Shit!'

Zane was currently above the ground, standing at third floor. The moment he saw the people enter the library, he immediately crouched and hid through the railings.

Zane honestly didn't want to deal with any troublesome situations right now. And he knew that if he is found by those people, he will definitely be in trouble.

Looking through holes of the railings, he could see that the three of them were talking with each other in circle.

Without wasting any seconds, he immediately crawled his way through the first floor, until he reached the ground floor.

The moment he arrived at the ground floor, he immediately hid in the bookshelves.

Zane was breathing heavily, with sweats dripping down on his face. It wasn't easy to crawl his way through the first floor. Hell, it was tiring.

As he took his moment, to catch his breath. He then looked through the egde of the shelves, with his left hand placed at the shelf to balance his body.

There he saw the three of them looking around the library, while talking at each other.

However, Zane couldn't really see them that clearly. But, he could hear their voices resounding through his ears.

"Hey, have you heard? That wimpy Zane has finally passed the trial and is going in the main castle."

"Yeah, I have. Man, I can't believe it, to think he was actually able to past the test, I thought he had long given up after all those years."

"Do you think they just let him passed because they felt bad? Well, I mean considering his low amount of mana capacity, I don't think it's really possible for him to even cast a single barrier spell, as it would drain his entire mana and kill him."

"Yeah, I also find it hard to believe that he actually passed the trial."
