It was already getting late into the night, and Jay was thinking of a way to leave the table without being rude. The Carlton's had expectedly thrown a small reception after the wedding was over, and Jay hated every second if it.
The thing about rich business men was, they didn't know when to stop talking, and no one argued with them because well, they needed them.
The men and their wives at their table had a lot to say about the new union. Ranging from how they would get an heir, to asking questions about their future sex life. Even Jay felt uncomfortable at their 'jokes', so he could only imagine how worse it would be for Micheal.
Micheal felt like a joke now, like everyone was laughing at him for marrying another man, and anytime Jay would glance at him- he would flash him a menacing glare like it was all his fault.
Wallowing in his anger, he hadn't realized Jay had left the table five minutes earlier, and was now whispering something to his mother. His brows shot up. He kept watching for a while, before getting up to go meet them.
"What's going on?" He asked, completely ignoring Jay's presence.
Mrs Carlton was smilling brightly as she turned to Micheal. "Oh nothing. Just Jay telling me he wants both of you to be excused to go home now."
Micheal frowned. "Why?"
Jay shrugged. "It's our first night together, what do you think?"
Mrs Carlton felt pleased with the answer, and excitedly told them they could go prepare to leave. She informed them she would get maids to come up and help them park, and a car would prepared to transport them down to Micheal's apartment.
Micheal's face was red, but Jay couldn't tell if it was anger or embarrassment. But seemingly, he didn't say anything else as Mrs Carlton began calling maids over, and giving them instructions. And they both went up the stairs to prepare to leave, none of them saying another word to the other.
The night was still young when they were done parking, and as Jay came down the stairs with his hair still packed up, wearing a simple light blue shirt and a pair of baggy jeans, he could hear Mrs Carlton gasp with happiness.
"You look so good." She gushed hugging him, and the sweet smell engulfed him again. He never thought he could hate something sweet, but now he was thing again.
"Thank you." He smiled back at her, brushing a loose strand to the back of his ears. He glanced over at Micheal, who rolled his eyes, pointing at his wrist, trying to tell him to make it quick.
Jay scuffed at his new husband, then turned to his mother in-law.
"Thank you so much for the hospitality, I hope we meet again soon."
She nodded. "Of course love, I even prepared a gift for you." She beamed brightly, making Jay's ear shoot up. He hated to admit that Mrs Carlton had treated him very good since he'd arrived, and even though it was probably superficial- he just needed not to get on her bad side.
Mrs Carlton without waiting for a response, called out three female young maids. They were all dressed in a the black and white uniform, but they were clearly younger women.
He frowned slighty.
He knew something had been off about how happy Mrs Carlton was with the arrangements despite he couldn't give them a heir, and now he was begining to understand why.
"You can pick one to assist you." She smiled brightly. "Being a husband would take a toll on you, and I don't want you to bother with cleaning and cooking around your new home." She rapt happily.
Jay hid his frown, and took a glance at Micheal. They weren't the prettiest girls Jay had ever seen, and they were probably not even the type of girls Micheal liked, but they were still WOMEN. One wrong move, and he would be replaced by one of them, and there was nothing he could do about it.
He shook his head feigning the brightest smile he could muster. "It's fine. I can do all tha_"
"No silly." Mrs Carlton shook her head at him, and Jay could see her smile had dropped sightly. He didn't want to offend her so he nodded, thinking of a way around the situation.
"What if I don't like any of these ones here." He asked quietly.
"It's fine." She cheered. "I can line up all the maids, and you take a pick."
Jay shook his head and chuckled. He had found a way around Mrs Carlton's devious plan. "I wouldn't want to bother you with that." He responded with a smile. "I've made a choice."
He took one last glance at Micheal's curious gaze before smilling too sweetly. "I want Mansuella."
The smile wiped off Mrs Carlton's face but she quickly tried to replace it. " Wha-what? Why? She's older and might need t,_"
Jay shook his head. "She welcome me warmly when I came here, and she told me she took care of Micheal when he was younger. Who better than her right?". He returned her sweet smile.
He glanced at Micheal again, and realized he looked amuzed. He probably wasn't expecting Jay to say that, and also seemed more relaxed at his answer..
Mrs Carlton frowned deeply before slowly nodding. "Fine then! But don't send her back when you get tire of her."
"I won't." Jay assured with a smile, before pulling his luggage away from the scene, and towards the garage.
Mrs Carlton was fuming when he left, and immediately ordered Mansuella to be packed up. She glared at Micheal who was also smirking while he left, before facing her husband.
"Did you see what just happened?" She asked in small anger,and the man nodded while watching both men go.
"I don't think he's as dumb as you thought, Anna." He commented making her turn to him.
"Then this is going to be harder than intended."
~~~~~~~~~~
The drive to their new house together was silent, except from the occasional cackle from the radio. The air was thick with tension, and neither men looked at each other.
Jay used his time to admire the beautiful city. Since he had been inside the Carlton mansion since he came, he hadn't had time to see what the country actually looked like.
And it was beautiful!!
Neveah, home to the group of wealthiest business men in the world! Even the poorer parts looked like an average part of the his own country, the neat streets, the beautiful shops, the way the people carroec themselves- it was all beautiful.
He also noticed that most of the bigger buildings were owned by Carlton, as their initials were encrypted on the top- which made him wonder qhat they really needed from his family.
His family was rich, but it was no where as wealthy as the Carlton's. They certainly didn't have several private jets, or owned several buildings in the city. Something fishy was up with this arrangement, and he needed to find out more.
After about another hour drive, jay noticed the car began slow down, turning towards a secluded neighborhood. There were only a few houses down the road, and they eventually stopped Infront the last one. Their driver spoke into the telecom, and a few minutes later the gates were opened to reveal a huge glass house.
His jaw fell open.
Micheal watched his new husband look at their house in awe, and he couldn't help but feel pride. His family had been into buildings since he was small, and he always had a nick for architecture. He had designed this house himself, and a few other smaller projects, before he finally had to take over as the CEO.
He also turned to face his creation, and he understood why Jay was awe struck! The house was almost entirely made from expensive glass, and only a few parts had concrete walls, like a few rooms for privacy.
It was a two story house, with give rooms. The front had a small garage with over six different cars parked, and the pathway to the front door was formed with beautiful green plants.
The front door was made of steel, and tinted glass and when Micheal punched in his passcode into the automated door, Jay couldn't think it was possible to gasp wider as it pulled open. The floor was made with a mixture of white and black marbles, with complimentary furniture littered in the living room.
The round stairs leading to the first floor was made to watch the brown wooden doors, and he couldn't help but grin like a child. He turned to Micheal excitedly.
"Your family made this?"
Micheal ignored him, walking deeper into the house, and suddenly the golden cascade faded into thin air. He frowned picked up the bag he was holding from the couch, and continued to walk in after him.
He noticed there was a well furnished bar in a side of the room, and he smiled cheekily deciding to visit it later. They continued up the stairs, and his eyes widened again.
Each room seemed to have a private terrace, overlooking the ground, but as he peeked into most of the rooms, he realized they were almost empty except for a huge bed in the middle which was still tightly wrapped up- clearly unused.
"Where am I going to sleep tonight night?" Jay whined as he realized only Jay's room was well furnished with a queen sized bed, and other bedroom accessories.
"I didn't expect you to come." Micheal replied curtly. "You can just stay with me tonight, tomorrow I'll get another room ready for you and Mansuella."
He frowned. "Didn't expect me to come? Then where would my sister have slept?"
Micheal didn't respond, and Jay began to wonder if Micheal had actually been anticipating the marriage between he and his sister since he had initially planned for them to spend the night together. He shrugged, unbothered by Micheal's attitude.
"Whatever you say. I'm just too tired to care!" He moaned standing beside the huge bed.
He threw himself on it, letting the softness of the fabric envelope him as his thoughts wandered. He hadn't heard from his family in two days, and now he was stuck with a snubbish man for the next few weeks.
He sighed tiredly, finally having time to use his phone for the first time that day, and his eyes almost fell out his socket.
He had over a 100,000 notifications on his phone, as he put his data on and the posts made him gape. As Mrs Carlton had told him, there were only a few reporters there, but they simingly didn't need much as the news had spread like wild fire!
Fans girls of Micheal had somehow found his account after seeing the pictures, and now he was being tagged to so many crazy posts. He rolled his eyes at the unwanted attention, before putting his account in private, and removing all the extra people who had just followed him.
He however continued to go through the clips of his 'wedding' watching his half hearted vows over and over, his eyes scanning through the comments under the post. Most people were pissed! And though the anger was being directed at him, he could still understand why.
Micheal was smoking hot! Even in a wedding suit, he looked straight out of a commercial.
He had also been featured in many business magazines which earned him a lot of fans. Women, girls alime were gushing over him left right and centre, and even though he had been extremely private about his private life, no one expected the hottest young CEO to just show up with a ''husband'
The comments were going crazy! And before long, it was the top trending in the whole city. Jay had never expected that one day, he'll be in the spotlight like this, especially not for reasons like this.
After reading through the comments, Jay also decided to search for Michael's account, wanting to snoop around for pictures. He found it not long after, but realized it was locked with only a few followers. Micheal was indeed really private.
He followed him, hoping he would be ''kind' enough to follow back, before going back downstairs to go pick his remaining luggages where he saw Mansuella struggling with one of his luggages.
He immediately ran to her. "Sorry I was caught up with something." He apologized, glancing at Micheal to see if he was with his phone. He wasn't.
"It's fine." Mansuella smiled, dragging him out of his thoughts.
He dragged his eye off Micheal and toward the elderly woman Infront of him. "hope you don't mind me dragging you here? I'm sorry, you're the only one I could think off."
"It's fine." She smiled brightly. "I also think Micheal was happy with your choice." She teased, nudging at Micheal.
Micheal turned to him, their eyes meeting, but neither of them said anything and they both turned away slightly upset at the arrangement.
Jay continued up the stairs with his stuff. He settled them up in a side of the rooms, before he realized there was no closet there.As if reading his mind, Micheal walked in a second after, pulling a small door open to reveal a walk in closet.
"Thanks." Jay smiled at his new husband which wasn't returned, before puting his stuff in before getting ready for bed.
It was about nine pm, and Jay finally resolved he needed to shower. Micheal had gone out a few minutes earlier to go make some arrangements in his office, but Jay genuinely felt he was just trying to avoid him.
He pulled out his huge white towel wrapping about his slender body. His body had always been so smooth and fair, and that was an advantage because he didn't need to shave much. But his body was still a little bit firm am manly, his stomach still flat, with a little bit of muscles- just the right amount.
He went into the second door in the room in the room assuming it was the bathroom, and he was right. Mostly automated, the curtains, the temperature of the water, everything was control by different buttons. Luxury in its best.
He had just come out when Micheal stepped into the room. They both paused, their eyes meeting as Micheal's eyes slowly trailed Jay's half naked body. His hair was sticking to many sides of his face making him look like child caught playing in the sand. Micheal could feel the heat in his cheek rise, and he looked away with a tsk.
"Why are you half naked?" He asked walking towards the bed.
"It's our first night remember?" Jay joked, knowing it would make Micheal tense. "I was waiting for you."
As expected, Micheal glared at him, his eyes sending a subtle message for Jay to back off, but he didn't say anything.
Jay laughed it off, quickly drying his hair with a blow dryer. "Don't be so full of yourself. I don't want to sleep with you either."
That was a huge fucking lie.
The air was thick with tension as they both settled down after that, and Micheal looked uncomfortable laying besides him even though the bed was so big it could fit four people comfortably. There were several pillows in-between them, and Jay honestly couldn't wait for his own room to be ready the next day. He couldn't live like this.
But atleast - tonight he got to watch Micheal sleep.
