Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: There's a Big Pit in Front of My House

The yellow cattle grinned because it casually commented on a couple of posts on the QiuShiBaiKe website, and as a result, a crowd came to watch and give it likes.

Seeing this scene, Zhou Quan felt his heart disease was about to flare up; he couldn't bear it anymore.

"You never know if it's a cow, a person, or something else strange behind the communicator!"

This was Zhou Quan's final comment under several images, full of indignation.

"What a painful realization."

Someone commented behind him, which almost made tears flow from Zhou Quan's eyes. This truly blood-tearful enlightenment touched his heart deeply.

Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the commenter's name was conspicuously "Lord Yellow Ox".

"Pfft!"

This time, Zhou Quan really couldn't take it anymore. He spat out a burst of flames, almost fainting from anger—it turned out to be that hateful ox!

Then, smoke started coming out of his ears and nose, billowing hot air surging forth, truly making steam come out of all seven orifices.

Naturally, the yellow ox's comments were extremely popular, with a group of people leaving messages and comments, quickly becoming trending.

"How shameful, how shameful!" Zhou Quan shouted to the sky.

Chu Feng was astonished and said, "Something is odd. Has your ability improved a bit? I feel like the flame you spewed out has become more powerful."

A large area on the ground had melted into fresh red liquid, boiling and emitting a pungent sulfur smell.

Zhou Quan had transformed a considerable part of the mountain into lava!

The yellow ox nodded, believing Zhou Quan had improved.

Is this possible? Chu Feng was speechless. After such stimulation, the power of Zhou Quan's fire-spewing indeed increased significantly.

The yellow ox wrote on the ground that their species became stronger when enraged, stimulating physical potential far beyond normal levels.

"Can it be stabilized?" Chu Feng asked.

"One more stimulation should do it," the yellow ox replied.

More stimulation? Zhou Quan was almost driven mad.

Without caring at all, the yellow ox came close and sat beside Zhou Quan, instantly making his forehead veins bulge.

Then, the yellow ox nudged Zhou Quan, indicating for him to look at the view count of those pictures.

"Eight hundred thousand!?" Zhou Quan exclaimed. How long had it been since the administrator pinned them, and they were already approaching a million views?

In an instant, he was indeed overly stimulated, not only spewing fire from his mouth but also starting to emit flames from his ears, nose, and eyes.

He then transformed into a flaming man, entirely crimson, with thick smoke billowing, opening his mouth to release flames, and uttering fiery sounds, creating a terrifying scene.

"Ahhh..."

Zhou Quan screamed there, venting his inner frustration.

"It worked!" The yellow ox quickly backed away, writing these two words on the ground.

After a long while, the place calmed down, a piece of mountain land now bald, having turned into lava and then solidified into volcanic rock.

Chu Feng walked over, patted Zhou Quan's shoulder, called him, and suggested going back.

"Your strength has improved somewhat, keep it up." Chu Feng told Zhou Quan that his power had increased.

The yellow ox also grinned, coming over without any contempt. Because Zhou Quan's pictures had let it enjoy being worshipped by everyone, it couldn't just immediately burn bridges, could it?

Taihang Mountain was vast, with open terrain and countless peaks.

Leaving the primeval forest, they no longer heard the roars of giant beasts or saw massive birds spanning dozens of meters across the sky, nor did they see poisonous miasmas lingering behind.

Because of this, it felt much quieter.

Suddenly, the yellow ox stopped, perked up its ears, and stared at the mountainous area ahead.

"Stop!"

Chu Feng also sensed something, his expression changing slightly as he grabbed Zhou Quan and hid behind a boulder.

"What's wrong?" Zhou Quan was still feeling dejected, startled by being suddenly pulled, thinking some terrifying beast was nearby.

"There's danger ahead. Hide here!" Chu Feng warned, staring at the mountain forest, his eyes instantly shining brightly, sharp and imposing.

He changed from his usual calm demeanor, drawing a black short sword with a clang.

Zhou Quan snapped awake, no longer feeling dejected but very nervous. Because Chu Feng hadn't drawn his sword even during battles with terrifying beasts in the primeval forest, but now he looked so serious.

"I'll go help you!" Zhou Quan, although scared, didn't want to cower and was willing to follow and assist.

"No need, wait here for me. Don't come over, or I might get distracted." Chu Feng instructed.

After speaking, he disappeared in a flash, covering hundreds of meters in mere seconds, breaking past human limits.

He didn't bring the yellow ox, coming alone.

Deep in Chu Feng's eyes flashed a cold light. Upon arrival, he slowed down, moving silently like a cheetah, stealthily advancing through the dense forest.

He saw many people, not a small number, fully armed, scattered in the mountain forest, guarding his inevitable path, occupying advantageous positions.

Dark gun barrels were set among the grass, cold and terrifying, lethal weapons.

"They've really come!"

Chu Feng's eyes were cold. He had left a note at home casually, and someone had indeed followed, setting up such a grand spectacle.

There were dozens of them, with excellent weaponry, all large-caliber guns. If hit, half the body would be torn apart.

Having mastered the Demon Bull Fist, Chu Feng's intuition was keen, sensing bone-chilling killing intent from afar. Rashly rushing into the ambush would mean certain death.

At this moment, he felt that practicing boxing's greatest gain was perception. This instinctive intuition allowed him to sense danger early and make preparations.

These people were extraordinary, hiding motionless in the grass like stone statues, with cold eyes, experienced killers.

"They really think highly of me, even bringing rocket launchers!"

Deep in Chu Feng's eyes, murderous intent flashed. He saw clearly that there were very powerful weapons. If hit, there would be no good outcome.

He moved silently through the mountain forest, one by one perceiving, figuring out exactly how many people there were and where they were hidden.

Forty-two elite soldiers carried heat weapons, besides large-caliber guns, ten rocket launchers capable of piercing tanks.

Not only ordinary humans but even current stage Awakened beings could be killed.

This was a major operation!

Rashly rushing here would lead to a tragic end.

Moreover, Chu Feng discovered two Awakened beings whose awakenings seemed quite similar, possessing the same abilities because their arms were golden.

It could be guessed they had eaten the same mysterious fruit.

After understanding the situation, boundless murderous intent rose in Chu Feng's heart. It must be that woman's doing again, wanting to rescue the captured bat and giant spider and kill him!

Repeated attacks, if he hadn't had some strength, he would have been humiliated and ended up a cold corpse in disgrace.

"Come as many as you can, I'll solve them all, making you despair in pain." Chu Feng muttered.

Then, he took action.

He came behind a mountain rock, like a falling leaf, punching the back of two necks. Two snipers fell unconscious without a sound.

Chu Feng moved silently and coldly through the mountain forest.

In moments, he had knocked down twenty people silently, unnoticed by anyone.

Suddenly, while dealing with the twenty-second person, something unexpected happened. That person suddenly turned around, unusually alert, with pale golden eyes.

An Awakened being!

This fully armed soldier carrying heat weapons was actually an Awakened being in disguise, not an ordinary person, sensing danger at the last moment.

"You..." He was very surprised, finding someone so close he almost touched his body.

"Bam!"

Chu Feng's left fist and right sword attacked simultaneously, trying to resolve him quickly.

In an instant, this Awakened being glowed golden, covered in golden scales, even his face, densely packed all over.

He looked like a monster!

His reaction was swift, dodging the deadly black short sword aimed at his neck but unable to avoid Chu Feng's left fist, hitting his chest.

Bang! Like hitting dry wood, his defense was astonishing. Although blood trickled from his mouth, he escaped with his life, flying sideways.

"Target spotted, here!" He shouted loudly, alarming the entire mountain forest.

Attack is the best defense, Chu Feng's choice now. With a leap, as fast as a fierce bird, he swooped down, chasing this Awakened being.

Gunfire erupted, flames bursting out, concentrated on where he appeared. Rocks and trees were instantly shattered.

At the same time, Chu Feng caught up with the target.

Boom! His fist glowed, striking down with all his might, like thunder, carrying a terrifying aura.

Thud!

Before this Awakened being landed, Chu Feng caught up, punching his back. The fist sank in, even though the golden scales were hard, unable to dissipate all the force.

The Awakened being groaned, bones breaking. But he indeed had stronger defenses than other Awakened beings, not dying. Landing, he rolled directly, trying to escape.

Puff!

Simultaneously, Chu Feng's black short sword arrived, like a black lightning bolt slashing through. Though he reacted swiftly, he was still struck.

Avoiding vital points, his left arm was bloody, the short sword so sharp it nearly severed his whole left arm, hanging by some flesh.

This was a severe injury. The Awakened being screamed, face contorted, golden scales dimming.

Bang!

Simultaneously, Chu Feng kicked his head, sending him flying into a ten-thousand-jin boulder, crashing to the ground, motionless.

Next, Chu Feng vanished from where he stood.

Various bullets rained down, sparks flying.

Then, boom! Fire erupted in the mountain forest, many rocks shattering, numerous towering trees falling, leaves scattering.

Someone used a rocket launcher, bombarding this mountain area!

Chu Feng lowered his body, like a crouching dragon, moving incredibly fast through the mountains, dodging bullets. In this process, he solved three more people.

"He's over there, blast him!" Someone shouted.

Boom!

Fire soared, the area exploding, trees falling en masse, shaking the earth, dust rising to the sky.

Instantly, fierce firepower concentrated there, turning everything barren, completely flattening the area.

The rocket launcher's power was enormous!

Far away, Zhou Quan was dumbfounded, petrified, seeing what? Powerful heat weapons, all targeting Chu Feng.

Bang!

A smaller mountain peak was flattened in that area.

For Zhou Quan, this day was too impactful, from wild scenes to horror movies, then gun battles. Even with his thick nerves, he felt a bit terrified.

"Quick, save Chu Feng!" Zhou Quan shouted at the bull demon king.

The yellow ox was calm, saying not to worry.

Mountain areas turned into scorched earth, temperatures soaring after rocket launches, destroying everything in their path.

But they still couldn't kill the target, as people kept screaming, or firepower mysteriously went out in some places.

Clearly, these people were resolved!

Finally, all firepower ceased, silent, the entire mountain forest quiet.

"Want to run?" Chu Feng shouted, leaving a trail of afterimages, chasing out, reaching hundreds of meters in five or six seconds, blocking three people.

All Awakened beings, with the same ability, their palms golden, now glowing, covered in golden scales.

Chu Feng understood; four Awakened beings had come in total, two disguised among ordinary soldiers holding heat weapons, one already dealt with.

Now, these three Awakened beings wanted to escape.

Indeed, they had consumed the same fruit in the same place, possessing the same abilities, immensely strong, with astonishing defenses.

After covering their bodies in golden scales, ordinary bullets were hard-pressed to penetrate.

However, facing Chu Feng, these three Awakened beings showed fear. After all, they had used rocket launchers, yet he survived.

They couldn't achieve that!

Chu Feng's clothes were somewhat tattered, but his body was unharmed.

Bang!

One Awakened being suddenly fired, trying to shoot Chu Feng by surprise. Unfortunately, he failed, only hitting an afterimage. Next, he flew up, punched in the head, feeling dizzy. Even with protective scales, he couldn't withstand it, blood flowing from his mouth, collapsing unconscious.

The other two, upon seeing this, felt despair. Among Awakened beings, they were considered strong, coming together. But before this young man, they appeared so weak!

Actually, Chu Feng was also secretly shocked. Using full strength, he merely knocked them unconscious. Other Awakened beings would likely have been pierced through by his punches.

"Kill!"

The remaining two fought desperately.

In the mountain area, fierce winds howled, golden light blazing, two monsters with faces covered in golden scales battling Chu Feng to the death.

Unfortunately, without any suspense, both were resolved, coughing blood, lying unconscious on the ground.

Shortly after, Zhou Quan ran over, gasping, looking at the half-destroyed mountain forest and the dozens of people lying on the ground, his face pale, asking, "Did you kill them all?"

"How could I be so cruel? Not a single one." Chu Feng spoke lightly.

Zhou Quan breathed a sigh of relief but then felt his head ache. These people wanted to kill Chu Feng, and there were so many—how to handle them?

Chu Feng's next sentence made his heart race.

"Hurry up and help, throw them all into the primeval forest." Chu Feng called for the yellow ox and Zhou Quan.

Zhou Quan showed a smile worse than crying, asking, "Throw them all in?"

"Do you want to leave them for another attempt to kill me?" Chu Feng said, already fetching mountain vines to tie up the unconscious men.

The mountain area was peaceful.

But deep in the primeval forest, beast roars continued.

"What about these things?" Zhou Quan pointed at the rocket launchers.

"Hide them first; I have great use for them!" Chu Feng said, eyes flashing with divine light, filled with murderous intent.

Finally, they set off on their return journey, first taking the dazed, pale-faced Zhou Quan back to the county town.

"These days, calm your mind, stay at home, don't go anywhere, and especially don't find me!" Chu Feng instructed.

Zhou Quan hurriedly nodded, indeed wanting to rest. Today had been too stimulating for him.

In the evening, Chu Feng quietly read books. Several times, the communicator rang, but he ignored it.

After finishing reading, he took out a map, spreading it out carefully to observe and study, copied from one obtained from Zuo Jun.

"Yellow Ox, tomorrow we'll go into the mountains to pick fruits for you!" Chu Feng called the yellow ox.

Not long after, the communicator rang again, the same person calling throughout the night.

Chu Feng yawned, feeling sleepy, finally picking up the communicator and answering.

"Chu Feng!" A woman's voice came from the other side.

"It's me."

Hearing the response, the woman felt disappointed and frightened because this guy at the foot of Taihang Mountain was still safe, while the other team had lost contact.

This wasn't trivial; she worried, not wanting responsibility.

"What's up?" Chu Feng asked, recognizing the woman, not Lin Nuoyi herself.

"Did anyone come today to take away the injured Awakened beings?" The woman tried to remain calm, asking.

"Saw a few people fall from the sky, almost died at my doorstep, covered in blood..."

"What are you talking about?!" The woman's voice on the other end rose eight octaves, angrily saying, "How could they almost die again!?"

"I said, there's a big pit in front of my house."
