Silence hung in the air—until the sound of birds chirping broke it like glass.
Nero: "Well, y'know… it's good to have some power."
Donatello: "Yeah? And why's that?"
Nero: "There are a bunch of beasts roaming this forest, duh."
Donatello: "So… where can I get supreme power?"
Nero: "You wanna know how I got strong?"
Donatello: "Okay, I guess…"
Nero: "We use something called Tech Source. You can do all sorts of cool stuff with it. In the right side of your brain, there's a tiny part that stores all your mechanical engineering knowledge. You tap into that, and boom—gadgets, weapons, whatever you can build."
Donatello: "Whoa, that's cool."
Nero: "Yeah, but without my gadgets, I'm kinda screwed. They're my whole thing."
Donatello: "Yeah… doesn't really fit my style. Sorry."
Nero's eyes widened.
Nero: "You're damn picky."
Donatello: "I just don't want to be an engineer-fighter guy."
Nero: "Fine, if you really want power, go to the Android Lab. Just don't get caught—or you're absolutely cooked."
Donatello: "Can you come with me? I won't get caught as easily if you're there."
Nero paused, thinking for a moment.
Nero: "…Fine."
Donatello: "Do you even know where it is?"
Nero: "I've got a map of the whole damn forest."
He pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, unfolded it, and pointed at a spot deep within the forest.
Nero: "That way."
Donatello: "Alright. Let's go."
