"Chase me!"
Tina commanded with a wave of her large hand, her cigarette dangling from her lips as smoke curled around her face.
"Tita Major Tina, do you really want to pursue? The enemy is the Pandora Pirate Group, with a combined bounty exceeding 100 million berries," the adjutant said hesitantly, his voice laced with concern. "They're not to be underestimated."
"Tina is not afraid what are you afraid of?" Tina pouted, blowing out smoke and speaking with conviction. "Catch up."
"This... okay." Seeing her determination, the adjutant no longer objected and immediately gave the order to accelerate pursuit.
Soon.
Casa, leaning over the rail, spotted the marine warship trailing close and turned to Rin. "They've caught up."
"Bold enough," Rin said, shaking his head with a smirk. "No need for delay lose them."
Rin's ship, though not as massive as a standard Marine warship like those used in the Buster Call, was crafted personally by the renowned shipwright King Kaidoli, a giant from Elbaf once sought by the World Government for illegal weapon blueprints. While it lacked the Thousand Sunny's revolutionary Coup de Burst or the Going Merry's intimate charm, its speed was formidable especially in the Grand Line's unpredictable currents.
And Rin had no interest in entangling with Tina not now.
Though Rin wasn't intimidated by Tina, a known Devil Fruit user who had once fought alongside Smoker in the G-8 base campaign, the logistical headache of fighting on the open sea, with potential reinforcements from G-2 or G-8 nearby, made conflict troublesome.
At coordinate 737 on the Log Pose, Rin moved into action.
He helped Casa steer, both of them focusing chakra-enhanced strength to the rudder and sail rigging accelerating the ship further.
Soon, they pulled away, vanishing into the shifting mist of the Grand Line.
Behind them, on the bridge of her ship, Tina watched the disappearing Pandora Pirates through a spyglass. Her brow twitched in frustration.
"Tina is angry!" she shouted, exhaling a sharp puff of smoke. Her cigarette glowed brightly as she clenched it between her teeth.
The adjutant, more composed, approached with a Den Den Mushi. "Major Tina, we should notify Marine Headquarters. Remember the last orders were to monitor this pirate crew closely."
After all, the Pandora Pirates weren't just wanted for typical pillaging.
Artoria, Rin's companion, was suspected of having an abnormal regenerative ability rumors whispered it resembled the "Eternal Youth" once sought through the Ope Ope no Mi. Casa, meanwhile, carried within him encrypted intelligence related to the Void Century his father having once served Cipher Pol 9 before defecting.
These weren't just threats to the Marines they were threats to the entire World Government narrative.
Tina furrowed her brow but nodded. She grabbed the Den Den Mushi and spun the dial.
Soon, the snail's eyes opened.
"Moshi Moshi, this is Major Tina of G-3 base—connect me to Fleet Admiral Sengoku immediately."
"Please hold," came the polite reply.
Moments later, the stern voice of Sengoku the Buddha rang out. "This is Fleet Admiral Sengoku. What's the situation, Major Tina?"
"Yes, Fleet Admiral," Tina responded crisply. "Tina encountered the Pandora Pirates in quadrant 737. But they escaped."
"I see." Sengoku's tone tightened, his hand unconsciously moving toward his cap. He stood within the headquarters atop Marineford, gazing at a map pinned with dozens of red markers—each signifying a dangerous pirate.
He had been briefed just the day before by the Five Elders. They demanded results.
The Pandora Pirates were too dangerous. Artoria's rumored immortality drew attention akin to the interest the Celestial Dragons had once shown in the Tontatta Dwarves. Casa's knowledge, potentially linked to the Ohara Incident and the hidden truths of the Poneglyphs, was too dangerous to let spread.
The Elders had ordered capture—if not elimination.
Yet Sengoku hesitated.
The seas were in chaos. Following Whitebeard's rise and the growing tension between the Four Emperors, all Rear Admirals and Vice Admirals were stretched thin—deployed across the New World, Paradise, and beyond.
There was no one to spare.
At best, he could dispatch a high-ranking Captain. But against Rin's crew? With potential Devil Fruits and advanced combat techniques involved? It could be suicide.
Rubbing his temple, Sengoku gave the order. "Very well, Major Tina. Maintain pursuit. Do not engage. Track their position and report every six hours."
Once reinforcements became available, they'd strike.
"Yes, understood Tina will comply," she replied with resolve.
The Den Den Mushi blinked shut.
——
Meanwhile.
Rin was unaware of Tina's transmission or the Five Elders' interest.
After shaking off the warship, he turned to Casa. "Faster—we're headed for Little Garden."
Little Garden. A prehistoric island marked on their Eternal Pose from Crocus, the former Roger Pirates doctor who now lived beside Laboon. The island was known to be inhabited by giants Dorry and Brogy locked in a hundred-year duel, and filled with creatures lost to time.
"Understood." Casa nodded, took the wheel, and adjusted the sail. The ship creaked forward into the unknown current.
Rin sat cross-legged, formed a hand seal. "Shadow Clone Technique."
A poof of white smoke appeared as a copy of himself emerged on the deck.
"Main body," the clone acknowledged.
"Train," Rin ordered.
He'd already tested this before his clone could engage in physical or chakra training, and when dispelled, all knowledge and fatigue returned to the original. It was a hack for parallel training perfected by shinobi like Naruto Uzumaki years down the line.
While his clone began practicing swordplay infused with chakra, Rin opened his space ring and retrieved a scroll.
'Training Space Usage Scroll: Grants access to a hyperrealistic battle simulation for 24 hours (real-time). Time dilation set at 2:1. Any opponent can be manifested for combat practice.'
He had acquired this reward several arcs ago—after defeating a rogue Cipher Pol operative during the Reverse Mountain incident. He'd been saving it for the right moment.
Now was perfect.
Clutching the scroll, Rin entered his private quarters, sat cross-legged, and meditated.
"Use," he intoned.
Ding!
A bell-like chime echoed in his mind. The air around him distorted, and his surroundings blurred.
Moments later, he found himself standing on a vast, sunlit grassland that stretched into the horizon.
Another voice rang in his ears:
'Training Space activated. Time ratio: 2:1. One day in here equals 12 hours outside.'
'Speak the name of your desired opponent to manifest a simulation.'
Rin grinned. "This thing's a cheat code…"
Training for two days here would mean only one day outside. If he had enough scrolls, a decade of experience could be gained in half that time. Sadly, he only had this one.
He thought for a moment.
Then spoke: "Garp!"
Instantly, a figure appeared before him towering, muscular, dressed in his signature dog hat and Marine cape. Monkey D. Garp, Hero of the Marines, stood with his arms crossed, a grin on his face.
"Let's see what you're made of, kid."
